mixed feelings - Edit

It is confusing. They have a wide selection of vegan dishes and all the sweets are vegan but they also have some traditional dishes.
The place has been renewed but not completely so it is kind of a hybrid between an old trattoria and a modern restaurant.
It is quite dark and stifling and not aesthetically pleasing.
The same can be said for the food.
It has some potential but tends too the greasy side and lack finesse.
Despite the restaurant-quality prices.
2 € for the service with just four or five bits of bread is too much. The service itself is kind but quite slow.
The vegan desserts are good. Still, they are overpriced for 7 €.
Everything could be improved.

Pros: good desserts

Cons: slow service, overpriced , greasy

Great vegan options. - Edit

Really enjoyed my visit to Colubrina. Had the teff crepes (it's a small-ish portion) and shared a pizza with grilled vegetables and rice mozzarella. Both really nice. Lots of vegan dessert options. Very good. The restaurant's non veg options were good according to my bf who is not a vegan. The ambience is nice, good service (it was a busy night so a bit slow), would go back if visiting Milan again.

best vegan rest in milan - Edit

Our experience was WOW..
The pizza, the risotto, the dessert..!!
Heaven for vegans.
They agreed to make us a special dish that was not in the menu. Have all kind of bacon like and cheeses- i wasnt sure vegan, had to ask twice.. Amaizing.
AND.. Open from 0800am , nice vegan sweeties and coffee.
Lots of non vegan too.
I wish i could take them with me home...;)

Pros: yummy, healthy, verity

Cons: the lighting is weird

Cucina Italiana Vegan al top! - Edit

Pros: Pizze vegane, piatti molto gustosi e leggeri

Cons: A volte il servizio può essere un po' lento ma val

Don't Miss!!! - Edit

We went here our first night in Milan, and there was a fundraiser on for the local ARA group, but they still managed to fit us in....and the food was amazing.
We went back the next night to get a take away pizza (the rice mozzarella is soooooo good!!) and the owners, who are vegan chefs themselves were so kind to us, they slipped in a blueberry croissant that we didn't notice until we arrived back to our hotel.
If you don't go here, you are really missing out!!

Very pleasant experience - Edit

La Colubrina is one of those cosy Italian restaurants where you feel very welcomed and relaxed. Perfect spot for a dinner with friends. Most of the menu is vegan which is fantastic! The food is very homemade-style and portions big enough. The selection of vegan cakes is also great, it's the only place in Milan that I found that has vegan tiramisu!

Magnifico Vegan Gnocchi! - Edit

The vegan handmade pumpkin and potato gnocchi with zucchini was truly magnifico and memorable. The owner of this cozy and friendly cafe is vegan and her mother is not so they join forces to collaborate on a menu that has many vegan options. The raw veggie salad included thin slices of carrot, apples and turnips and onions was also nice and refreshing.

Average Pizza - Edit

We ordered two different vegetarian pizzas. While they were good, they were just average in flavor. Perhaps their vegan pizza or other menu items are better.

Pros: Vegan Options

Cons: Slow Service

Great food and atmosphere - Edit

This is a really nice restaurant and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The vegan dishes are clearly marked and there's lots of choice too! We've tried the pizzas, pancakes and also pasta dishes. They're very tasty and well priced. A big mention should go to the desserts: these were really fantastic and nicely presented!

Pros: Desserts, Great service, Price

Exquisite Vegan Italian Cuisine - Edit

La Colubrina is a fascinating old fashioned restaurant born as traditional one, today it offers vegan dishes very tasty.
Franca and Consuelo, the chefs, created a menu that combines together vegan cuisine with traditional Italian cuisine, crossing "il Bel Paese" and picking up in every Italian region a special traditional dish, completely renewed as vegan. You can try a typical cotoletta, made with beans, crunchy and tasty, the juicy summer parmigiana made with delicate veggies and vegan cheese, fabulous basil pesto risotto with mushrooms and you can continue to eat over and over.... It is all soooo good!!
You absolutely must try the vegan tiramisu, creamy and delicate, and, if you are hungry but it is not dinner time yet, an apericena (typically Milanese) why not? It is amazing, a carousel of special Italian-fusion appetizers from bruschetta to falafels.
At Colubrina's you are at home.
