Opened early-2015 by the owners of La Camelia sushi takeaway. In addition to vegetable sushi, this food bar also offers organic wine, juice, and cake; spreads and hummus; seitan, tofu, and tempeh with sweet and sour sauce umeboshi; and more. In the the center of Bilbao, close to the river and town hall, with plenty of seating. Open Mon-Thu 13:30-23:00, Fri-Sat 13:30-00:00, Sun 13:30-23:00.

Además compramos dos porciones de torta de zanahoria para desayunar al dia siguiente y fue LA gloria.
Pero todo esto es nada comparado con la buena onda de las chicas que nos atendieron.
Recomiendo 100%!!

Die Bar ist 100% vegan. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und spricht gut englisch. Das Essen war sehr gut. Außerdem ist es zentral gelegen.

I sat outside and said hi to the waiter as he was outside serving customers. Sat down and waited. And waited. Apparently I had to order at the bar inside. So I did. As there are only 2 people working and the place was full, it took quite some time before I got my food. Wakame salad was ok, but nothing special. Burger was good, but some salad and fries with it would be better.

I have visited this place about a dozen times, ever since they started their sushi takeaway. I have always thought the food was good, though a bit expensive.
Read moreLately, however, I have been struck by their lack of hygiene, as staff will handle cash and go straight to the food without washing their hands. I pointed this out to the owners in August and they apologised and promised to get better. Despite their assurances, they were given a new chance today and they failed to show any improvement: the waiter, busy peeling some veggies when I arrived, took a book in order to note down my reservation. He also wrote my name on a sign and put it on a table. Right after that, he went back to the veggies without washing his hands at any point. I was beyond outraged.
There can't possibly be any justification for this, as there were maybe two customers when I arrived.. so it has more to do with carelessness than stress. Because of this, I won't be visiting this place anymore, and as for Txukrut (owned by the same folks and one of my ambassador picks)... well, for now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I had the gyozas, which were definitely overpriced and not very yummy. The burgers are dry, the seitan burger is probably your best bet. Service is deficient.

Slow food in a cozy place - Edit
If you are not in a hurry, you must try this cozy and nice plce in the Casco Viejo of Bilbao. It´s a bit small but the staff is very friendly and the dishes are original and tasty ( they have vegan sushi for instance). I tried "potaje de garbanzos" and it was delicous! Not very cheap but worths it.

Nous sommes venus deux fois lors de notre séjour à Bilbao. Nous avons testé le menu maki, les gyoza, la salade d'algues, le sandwich seitan, le sandwich tempeh et le houmous. C'était bon mais sans plus. Nous avons aimé l'ambiance le soir, le choix de bière. Et pour le midi (ouverture à 13h30) il a été agréable de manger en terrasse. Le personnel est très sympa.

A nice place at the center of Bilbao. I came when they opened and it was a bit of waiting to get everything we ordered. And the place was full straight away. I chose the makis with the two side options, which was really really good. You have to go to this place if you're ever in Bilbao, vegan or not.

Lovely little vegan cafe with delicious choices - Edit
We had just arrived in Bilbao from London - tired and hungry vegans! We were thrilled to find this lovely vegan cafe (through the Happy Cow App). We had several vegan dishes and enjoyed them all, sitting outside in the sunshine. Great ginger beer too! We will definitely return.
