Opened early-2015 by the owners of La Camelia sushi takeaway. In addition to vegetable sushi, this food bar also offers organic wine, juice, and cake; spreads and hummus; seitan, tofu, and tempeh with sweet and sour sauce umeboshi; and more. In the the center of Bilbao, close to the river and town hall, with plenty of seating. Open Mon-Thu 13:30-23:00, Fri-Sat 13:30-00:00, Sun 13:30-23:00.

Loved it so much I went three times - Edit
I loved this vegan restaurant in Bilbao. In fact I loved it so much, and there were so few dinner options in Bilbao, I had dinner every night of our visit. The staff was lovely and let me do a small side salad instead of potatoes with the “new” burger. I highly recommend La Camelia.

I have tried the tofu in pita with the side of potatoes, the Japanese gyoza, the vegan sushi, gazpacho, Red cabbage txukrut, and the golden latte.
I really enjoyed the tofu pita a lot! It was filling, a bit messy, but tasty and fresh. I liked that it was big enough to be a meal, but not overwhelming. I got the potatoes on the side and I liked those, but the vegan mayo on that was not very good. I think they used a lot of cilantro in the vegan mayonnaise and it tasted strongly like soap to me. I did not know it had cilantro or I would have skipped that.
The gyoza were cooked perfectly and did not fall apart. I also liked that I was given chopsticks to eat the gyoza with. The soy sauce was great too. The gyoza were a bit sweeter than I'm used to, but I liked their flavor regardless.
The vegan sushi was interesting, but not my favorite. Depending on what one you got the textures of the rice was always different and not always great. None of them were gross, but none were mind blowing either.
The gazpacho was delicious! It was smooth and tasted perfect like a garden in a soup and I absolutely love that. It always makes me feel really good eating gazpacho like I got a bit of all my veggies for the day. I would definitely eat that again.
The red cabbage txukrut was very good as well. It was a lot like sour kraut and I could eat a heap of that. It was pickled in a deliciously sour way and I enjoyed every bite of that for sure. I definitely will try more of their pickled dishes because that was so good.
The golden latte was perfect too! One serving of sugar mixed in made it just sweet enough and the turmeric was really nice. I had to mix it before every sip because it would separate after some time, but mixing it up was easy and it was very warm and flavorful.
I recommend coming here if you are vegan or want vegan food. There are tons of different types of food on the menu. My favorites are the pickled things and the gazpacho.

The local is tiny though it does have some tables on the terrace. We went one day before 9:00 PM and it was already fully booked, so since we were there we took the chance to reserve for dinner the next day.
Read moreWe wanted to try the sushi menu (6 assorted makis and 2 dishes of your choice) but they had run out of makis, so we shared a mix of spreads, and then we tried their mac n cheese and a poke bowl with seitan and pineapple that wasn't bad.
The staff was kind and you can feel they put love into the dishes. However, the waiting time between courses was excessive, I think because the space is so small their service system quickly gets overwhelmed.
I expected a bit more...

We didn't have to wait long at all, so I guess they improved compared to the other reviews. The miso soup was amazing and so was the potato side dish, but the mac'n'cheese, the aubergine and the cinnamon role were reasonable at best. Not bad, not great. The price was good, the staff is very nice, the food was OK. All in all a decent experience.

We tried many things there: kimchi, seitan pita, maki mix, gyoza and carrot cake (with salted caramel).

We also had water and ginger ale. We payed about 50 € for all of the above.
The restaurant has not much space, so we made a reservation just walking by in the afternoon.
Many people came to eat there during the evening but It was all booked, so i highly recommend to call/reserve your spot.

Read moreI got the makis which were interesting since each had a different filling. Some with surprising crunch and tastes. But I had better vegan sushi. Also tried the vegetable cream which was nice and creamy but could've been a bit saltier. The highlight were the gyoza. They seemed very fresh, handmade and in combination with the umeboshi and soy sauce for dipping made for an excellent taste.
If you come you will need some patience. A reservation helps.

We tried the burger (fine), the “bulgogi” (unrecognizable as bulgogi, whatever it was), and the mac and cheese (oddly artificial-tasting). Small mercy: the portions were small. We’d only return for the burgers.

Small 100% Vegan 🌱 joint in the centre, with good choice of tasty vegan food and limited choice of drinks. A few tables inside and 4 tables outside. Friendly staff (struggling with English), rather slow service (seems like another pair of hands could help), ordering strictly inside at the bar. Overall good.

We loved the dips & salads! The speciality potatoes are all about the delicious sauce. We went twice & enjoyed both meals (tried the sushi, burger, donbiri, dips & salads). It cost around 40 Euros for plenty of food and a couple of alcoholic drinks.
