Opened early-2015 by the owners of La Camelia sushi takeaway. In addition to vegetable sushi, this food bar also offers organic wine, juice, and cake; spreads and hummus; seitan, tofu, and tempeh with sweet and sour sauce umeboshi; and more. In the the center of Bilbao, close to the river and town hall, with plenty of seating. Open Mon-Thu 13:30-23:00, Fri-Sat 13:30-00:00, Sun 13:30-23:00.

A small restaurant near the river, nice staff, good food: We had the taboulé, burgers and the guacamole. It was very good. Small place, but we got a table outside. If you go there in lunchtime bring time to wait and get your food to go!

Was there today, had the sushi menu: 6 pieces of sushi (different flavours), 6 gyoza and the camelia pate (made from tofu, rice miso, seaweed and some spices). I also ordered the homemade limonade and a piece of cake. (My table was full of food just for me, and it was less then 20 euros, so not as expensive as i expected from the two dollar review here).

The girl working there was really nice too, she expained to me what everything was and gave me a couple of tips to eat vegan pintxos around the "casco viejo".
If you're in Bilbao, definitely worth a visit.

Small but cozy vegan caffe. The food on offer is really fairly priced and varied. I had the sushi and my partner the burger. Both home made and super tasty. The guacamole was the best I have had to date.

I love this little and tiny cafe near Bilbao's river. Friendly owners and staff. Their burgers are among the best worldwide and the carrot cake is simply supreme!

Tomamos el sushi, que venían 6 piezas distintas, cada una de un sabor distinto, muy buenas todas. Los gyozas estaban riquísimos! Fue lo que más me gustó. El guacamole y el sandwich de seitán que pedimos no fueron nada del otro mundo. Y por último la hamburguesa que también estaba bastante bien. Recomiendo el sushi y los gyozas, sin duda alguna!!
El precio no es excesivo

La Camelia is a nice little place with a good menu where you can find all vegan sushi rolls, burgers, sanwiches, miso soup, a superb hijiki salad with lotus root and many other nice dishes including vegan desserts. Wide variety of beers, wine and sodas. Friendly staff and tables inside or outside :)

I have visited "La Camelia" twice, and when I wanted to eat there at third time, it was full! This bar is getting better every time I am there.
Read moreIt serves a lot of maki types (with sprouts, lentils, even with rose jam), vegeburgers, soups, gyozas, smoothies, etc. It is not the cheapest, but still affordable. And always have a great carrot cake.

Pedimos el menú y la burger. Estaban buenos y de ricos sabores lo unico es las cantidades y el pan de la burger. El menu dice 6 rolls más otras cosas que incluye, hasta donde sé 1 roll es la hoja completa de alga rellena de arroz, vegetales y cortada en 7-8 rueditas. Si me dicen 6 rolls yo me imagino 6 hojas rellenas y cortadas no 6 rueditas... las gyosas divinas pero poquitas. El pan de la burger estaba seco pero de sabor estaba bastante buena en general, la "carne" podría ser más gruesa asi el tamaño de la burger seria suficiente...

Tiny little cafe with really tasty food! I went as a group of four and we ordered two lots of the set sushi meals (€12) which included six pieces of maki with various flavours (lentil and mango, guacamole, miso, spinach, humus, and pickled ginger) as well as two sides, we went for the miso soup, a creamy vegetable soup, gyozas and guacamole (served with toasted bread) between the four of us. The waiter brought the sides out gradually, starting with the soups together then bringing out the gyozas, then the guacamole so we couls enjoy each dish properly, and it made a really good few starters for the main platter of sushi. All really good dishes and a really friendly waiter who did his best with speaking English. Definitely recommend visiting here for trying the set menu, plenty of food to share and very enjoyable! :-)

It really was nice to find this new restaurant in the North of Spain where all the food seems to be meat and fish all the time. This very artistic little restaurant has a very broad menu and a very nice person running the entire place. It was a crowded little place with great simple food and good prices too. Would highly recommend the vegan burger.

La Camelia is a very special place with a 100%vegan menu. You can choose between different kind of vegan sushi, seaweed salads, hummus, guacamole... Or their last and best choice: THE Hamburger.Thei make their own hamburger, with really good bread, salad, vegan cheese... it's perfect.

In a city that seems to specialise in meat and fish pinxos, it was a delight to find this quirky little place. We ate hummus, guacamole and quinoa salad all served with warm crusty bread and a bottle of wine. Simple food but great taste and a very reasonable price.

I had the Base II menu with a Hijiki salad, 6 Makis and a drink for 11€. The food is freshly prepared and tasty. As I was in a hurry, the friendly personal made it possible to start eating shortly before the official lunchtime.
