Amazing vegan okonomiyaki - Edit
Really easy for vegans, plenty of options. The chef is really welcoming, you may have to wait for a seat. Food was perfect and there's even a little guide on how to eat it.

So very tasty - Edit
I had the vegan Okonomyaki with vegan cheese, vegan egg and soy meat. It seemed the thing to do. It really hit the spot.
Read moreBe aware that they cook on the same grill as meat, but they too care to clean it a bit and separate from other things.

reserve a table! - Edit
we had very good Okonomiyaki here, but we needed to wait 45mins for an opening as they are usually fully booked! if you order a vegan dish from the menu, they still ask you if „egg is okay“, so maybe say no if you‘re vegan 😂 they‘re really cool though and welcome people from all over the world (the walls are covered in handwritten reviews).

Great food , loads of choice - Edit
A little tricky to find as it’s on the second floor and they were full when we arrived, but they took our name and gave us a reservation to come back later, and I’m glad we did. Super friendly, great food and lots of choice - it suited me as a vegetarian and my husband as a meat eater. Don’t be too fussy though as they do cook the food on the same hot plate. I was relieved to find some genuine Japanese’s food that I could actually eat and was really tasty.

Incredible Hiroshima Okonomiyaki - Edit
Staff were incredibly friendly, food was so good. I had the vegan roll (which had vegan egg and cheese) and was one of my favourite meals during our Japan trip - most definitely recommend

Very tasty Okomiyaki - vegan & vegetarian - Edit
The vegan option had vegan cheese, vegan egg and vegan sauces. Since my boyfriend is vegetarian, he got his Okonomiyaki with egg and cheese. It was clear that the chef had a good understanding what the difference is.
Read moreHe also cleaned the surface before starting on our food and rinsed his spatula. You sit directly in front of the grill, so be aware that you will see quite some animal ingredients prepared in front of you.
Pros: Fully vegan Okonomiyaki with vegan egg and cheese, Vegetarian option too, Quick and friendly service
Cons: Fried food smell, Everything prepared on one grill (cleaned though)

Einfach nur top! - Edit

I would give 1 Michelin star if I could to the chef ! - Edit
3.7 stars
Read moreBefore we talk about the food, a huge shout out to the Chef / owner who is very courteous and respectful.
Unlike the other restaurants that make you queue for hours!
I truly appreciate that he gives a time to come back if the restaurant is full or honestly informs the guests that they cannot take on more guests for the day.
Coming to the food - they’ve beautifully customised Okonomiyaki to meet Vegan tastebuds. It would be a little more flavourful. All in all good experience.

Excellent vegan food - but not for the very strict - Edit
The vegan menu has a number of fantastic options and everything we tried was delicious. The restaurant is tiny and popular with locals; the few westerners we saw were all eating from the vegan menu.
Read moreHowever the food is prepared on a large teppan, right next to the meat and fish dishes. The chef took great care to keep the food apart and used separate oil, sauces and utensils for the vegan food. But there is no way to guarantee zero cross-contamination in these circumstances so if you’re very strict it might be better to avoid (try Keith over the road)

Brilliant Hiroshima okonomiyaki. Such a great experience! Book a table for this place as it is very popular and not too big. They cook everything in front of you and everything we had was excellent.

Highly recommend the vegan roll - vegan cheese and egg included. Had cold tofu, mushrooms, eggplant, potato and edemame sides. Plenty of well marked vegan options. Extremely friendly service and cute setting! A must in Hiroshima.

Great, delicious, wonderfull - Edit
2025-04-18 we visited this very nice izakaya. From the little street outside we almost didn't see the restaurant but it is wonderfull! It is on the second floor of a very small building. We had the chance to sit directly next to the plate where the chef grilled the okonomiyaki! Great authentic show while waiting. We got extra vegan sauces. Fantastic experience.

Just what you wish for - Edit
I went to Hiroshima 8 years ago as a vegetarian and tasted okonomiyaki, and I fell in love. I fell in love so hard that my hopes of actualy finding a vegan okonomiyaki that matched the expectations were quite low. But rest asure, this place was EPIC. They provided the flavours, the atmosphere, the fun and friendly staff. They provided vegan mayo (hell yeah! I havent seen any other places do that! And vegan "egg" (havent seen any one else do that!). And it just is not right without the mayo and the "egg" just made it feel more like the original thing. And by all means that was what I was after.
Read moreOk so the cons? We waited for an hour to get in. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes. The place is small. Like 19 seats, 4 tables for 4 people and some seats infront of the chef. Propably not for people who are very sensative to things cooking at the same place as animal-origin food since all the tables they fry on (including the one in front of your table) is used for this. And even tho they clean beteeween custumers it's still a frying surface and the cleaning might not be 100% what you want if you are sensitive.
Pros: So tasty!, Perfect if you want the real deal, Cosy, genuin atmosphere
Cons: Not many seats, Se comment above

Vegans are well catered for here. We went with the too two choices and although okonomiyaki is still sitting on the fence with me, we had to at least try it whilst we were here. the other meal was amazing.

Go there for some Hiroshima regial food - Edit
Great Okonomyaki! you find the resturant on the second floor. They had all tables reserved for one hour later when we came (we came about 17.50), but they had time to serve us before we had to give up the table. But if you plan to go, reserve if possible.

Venue
Read more1st floor. 4 or 5 seats at the “bar” plus 2 tables for couples and a table to seat 4 I believe. You should absolutely make a reservation, I saw a few people get turned away in my time there.
Service
Great. Questioned if I was vegan or vegetarian when ordering the vegan okon so I could be given the correct mayo & okon sauce.
Food
I got the vegan okon and the garlicky potatoes as a side. A slightly smaller portion of okon than some places but very tasty with the spicy noodles and a nice amount of mayo & sauce slathered on.
Price
2700jpy (I think) for the okon, the spuds and an umeshu soda. Note that you must buy one drink. Sorry h2o bros.

Vegan okonomiyaki! - Edit
They have a full vegan menu. I was able to sit at the bar and watch them make everything, which was mesmerizing. They made sure to use one side of the cooking surface for vegan items and also used separate epuipment. And the food was delicious. Great experience.

So delicious I went twice - Edit
I was so happy I was able to have the whole okonomiyaki experience even though I'm a vegan. It was so delicious I went twice. I tried both the okonomiyaki and the roll, and both were amazing. The steamed mushroom were delicious, very garlicky.
Read moreBe aware:
1) It's a small and popular place, so prepare to wait. First night we went, we got reservations for 50 minutes later. Second night, it was 1h 45min. Worth it imo, but be in good time.
2) okonomiyaki is cooked and served on a large hot plate. Every time he got a vegan or vegetarian order, he cleaned the section of the plate he'd use and changed utensils. I felt okay with it, you might not. If you're with a non-veggie and you get a table seat, you'll share the hotplate in the table as well. There is enough room that the okonomiyaki don't touch and the staff makes sure they don't. Also, those plates are cleaned between each guest, but not a deep clean.
3) I found out on the second night is wasn't a non-smoking establishment, as a gentleman seated at the table behind me kept lighting up. The ventilation is good enough that it didn't hang in the air for long, and the food good enough to make me forget, but my hair smelled like cigarette smoke afterwards.
Pros: Amazing food & experience , Staff speak english, Quite cheap
Cons: Some waiting time , Smoking allowed

Should be 5 star - Edit
The restaurants been open for 10 years this February! Show this place some love. The vegan menu is in English and there are 2 main options; the okonomiyaki and the roll. I went here 3 times for my 3 nights in Hiroshima. Tried both mains and loved both. I included egg in both and vegan cheese in the latter. The vegan stuff is cooked separately to the meat on the same surface. The chef (Kyohei San) is friendly, attentive and does his best to communicate. Unfortunately I did see a few people get turned away or get asked to wait up to 30 mins, so I'd recommend you call the day before to reserve a spot at a certain time. Show this place some love, the chefs been quietly honing his art here for a decade!
