Great for non-vegan friends! - Edit
Brought a friend here for their first vegan restaurant experience and it was very nice! This was last September.. but I am sure that it is still great! I wish the burger was a little more healthy (maybe whole wheat or brown rice buns would be nice).. but think it is perfect for inviting all types of people and enjoying a meal together! I will go back and update my review! But for now, highly recommend!

Good, Could Be Great! - Edit
The burger I ate tasted good, but it had its downsides. I felt like it was too small for the price I payed and the bottom bun was sticky before I started munching into it.
The portion of fries I received was larger than I anticipated it would be; it would be nice if they were paired with the burger as a single menu item, but past reviews have expressed issues when that was the norm.
I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant and I would love to come back the next time I happen to be Seoul.
Pros: English-Speaking Staff, Tasty Food

tulips326 19 Feb 2017 - Yes, the burgers are too small. I went when they first opened and the burgers were good sized and had toppings spilling out of them. Great! Now, they have tiny toppings and the burgers are made of rice and fall apart with each bite. Also, last time I went I got a tiny burger and zero fries. Now you have to pay extra, about 5,000 won, to get a few fries on the side. Total ripoff. Also, you have to pay 6,000 for a side salad and 5,000 for a bowl of soup. 10 or 11,000 for a small burger with zero fries is a complete ripoff. I won't be going back as much. Too many vegan places in Seoul get stingy and greedy with their menu items. It's really sad. Thank God I know how to cook.
AJGarcia 21 Feb 2017 - Hello, this is AJ from Huggers.
First, I would like to apologize on behalf of your last experience- which you felt was not up to par with your previous visits. We are constantly striving improve Huggers, and are always open to feedback.
To address some of your concerns, however:
When Huggers first reopened back in August, we gave out 4 or 5 wedge fries with the burger, as part of an open event. At that time, a side of fries were priced at 4,000KRW. The event ended with the turn of the new year, and we followed that by lowering the price for a full plate of regular wedge fries to 3,000KRW, and later adding our new cajun wedge fries to the menu for 4,000KRW. Never have our fries, in neither past nor present, cost 5,000KRW.
Huggers prides in adhering to the highest quality standards; using mostly non-gmo/organic ingredients and making everything in-house. In addition, we donate all tips, plus 10% of all profits to CARE, an animal rights organization here in South Korea.
Our burgers have always consisted of the same to base ingredients, organic brown rice and lentils. We have never made patties just out of lentils.
Once again, we thank you for your feedback, and hope that this addressed any your concerns or misunderstandings. Should you have any further inquiries, concerns, or comments regarding the quality of the food or service at Huggers, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Great place - Edit
Huggers is a wonderful place. The owner AJ is kind and always makes you feel at home. He cares about animals, too and does lots for the animals in the community through CARE. One of my favorite things about this place is how it has consistent hours and they are open when they say they are open. Also, the owner does not only care about his weekday customers. He cares about those of us who can mostly only visit on weekends. A perfect example of this is how the brunch set is available all day long on weekends. My only complaint is the portion size for the price. I'd like to have more than 6 small fries with my burger. The brunch set is amazing though and the hot dutch coffee just completes the brunch nicely. I also wish the June burger wth its amazing caramelized onions was still available. But all the burgers are great. I wish they would use lentils instead of rice though. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone, vegan or not.
Pros: Great and friendly owner and staff, Open when they say they will be open, Delicious food
Cons: Only 6 tiny fries with a burger, Rice instead of lentils used for burgers, A tad pricey

Consistently, surprisingly delicious - Edit
Having visited three times, I've now really enjoyed the barbeque burger, a Huggers burger, and a basil and pesto burger. The barbeque was quite shockingly yummy, but all three were really wonderfully delicious.
Yeah, like some people say, they're not huge, but still quite filling. Every time I finished one I thought it wasn't enough at first, but after a few chips from the side dish shared with friends and sample of a dessert, it was all more than enough.
The barbeque burger probably has the strongest flavour, and the sauce is really good; the other flavours are more subtle and delicate and also really fresh and surprisingly tasty. Three friends went with me the last two times, and all were surprised and delighted at how good their burgers were.
The deserts are amazing. The chocolate cake is rich and moist and has either cacao nibs or small choco chips throughout. The chocolate chip cookie cake slice was warmed up and a complete revelation, and the donut was also way better than I'd dared to hope. All in all, it was a great feed!

Good but over priced - Edit
This place is good. If you're craving a burger than thats what they offer... It's just really over priced. I was so surprise at how small the portions were for the price. Im talking like 4 fries as a side.
I probably wont go again. Its a shame. I really want to support a veggie restaurant but its just not worth the money.

Pros: Good, 100% vegan
Cons: Expensive, Small portions

tulips326 01 Feb 2017 - Yes, I am begining to see that it is expensive for what you get. Can you believe it? The last time I went and I got zero fries on the side. That's right, zero fries. I noticed a side dish menu where you have to pay extra now for fries, as well as W6,000 for a side salad and W5,000 for a side of soup...that's a tiny bowl of soup for W5,000...dang.

Awesome place! - Edit
I love this place because the food is always good. The staff are super friendly and will make sure you get what you want. They are always improving by adding new items to the menu and doing promotions. There is a friendly cat that hangs out there as well which is awesome. It has a nice modern feel to it. I highly recommend this place. I look forward to the winter menu this year.
Pros: 100% Vegan, Best Staff, Great environment
Cons: none

tulips326 17 Feb 2017 - The cat is the best thing about this place. The last time I went, I got zero fries with my burger. Just a burger and no salad or fries or anything on the side. They actually have a separate expensive side dish menu. Like most vegan places in Seoul, you get tiny portions for huge freaking prices.

Huggers - Edit
I'm not impressed with Huggers, the new vegan burger restaurant that replaced the Coexistance Cafe.
The Coexistance Cafe was so much better. Their burgers were much tastier. They had a wider menu and a greater variety of desserts and dishes to pick from.
But above all I really miss their basil pesto burger, the new one at Huggers does not do it justice. You can barely taste the pesto. The other one had a rich pesto taste and it was a bite of heaven. I miss the old place and would rather go back to the old place. Huggers is not the same!!
Also they added cheese and avocado to the burger. Avocados are yummy but you can barely taste them in this burger. And the cheese is super salty and it takes away from the original yummy pesto taste. All you can taste is the saltiness of the cheese. You can't even taste the basil. Furthermore, the burgers are made out of rice instead of lentils now. They're crumblier and not as delicious. You can also barely taste the eggplant. I'm very saddened by this fact. I went back a second time to make sure to give them a fair chance but I will not be going back again.

Cons: Taste is not as good as the original cafe, Portions are much smaller, Something is missing

Tired of Korean food! - Edit
After a week in Seoul, this was a gift from vegan-heaven! Tired of Korean food, but good vegan restaurants here are few and far between. Huggers is small, cozy, super staff and the best vegan burger I've ever had. Save room for chocolate cake! Our tummies were so happy tonight! Thank you Huggers!
Pros: Nice vibe, Indoor and outdoor seating, Free lemon water
Cons: Limited menu

Amazing vegan burgers to pine for - Edit
Though not so easily found, and regardless of the somewhat dubious neighborhood where it's located, this is a small piece of culinary heaven, and for a vegan, it's a real treasure. We ordered the chili tofu burger, the avocado pesto burger, some side fries, tomato juice and an exceptional avocado-banana smoothie, all to our tummies' complete gratitude. I'm still purring with delight when recalling our meal - Can't wait for our next time there!
Pros: State of the art vegan burgers!, Great drinks, Friendly staff, young atmosphere
Cons: Not the most pleasant location, Menu offers only a small choice

Huggers in Hanam/Itewon - Edit
An intimate little restaurant hiding on a backstreet in Seoul. Huggers: my first restaurant visit as a vegan. I wasn't sure what to expect. I had the pesto, Avacado burger with a banana-Avacado smoothie ( I like Avacado) and a piece chocolate mousse cake.
The burger was fantastic, though it was served with exactly 4 fries. Had to order a side of fries as well. Can't blame them for up-selling. The smoothie was great, and the cake is one of those " I can't believe it's vegan" kinda foods.
The restaurant has a warm, cozy feel to it, and the staff are super-friendly.
Top notch, and I'd recommend the place to any hungry person, strolling in the neighborhood, and even worthy of a special trip into the city.
Yummers
Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Cozy environment
Cons: Don't expect a lot of fries with your burger, Have to do a little hunting to find the restaurant

Best Burger Ever!!!!!!!! - Edit
Came to Huggers for the first time this Saturday and OMG!!!!!!!! What a find. The place is super cute and the staff is really friendly. I ordered the Pesto Avacado Burger and my wife went with the Tofu Chilli Burger. They were both amazing. I am soo happy that I found this place. My wife, who is not even a vegetarian, let alone a Vegan like myself immediately said "we are coming here every weekend."
Pros: Great Food, Affordable, Friendly Staff
Cons: Absolutely None

Huggers! - Edit
I ordered a basil pesto burger and banana avacado smoothie. While they both tasted good, the burger was WAY too messy. Definitly lacks a bonding agent, after one bite you'll have to continue eating with fork and knife. Staff was super sweet, quiet location, and very clean. The smoothie was ok, but for the price I probably won't be ordering again.
Pros: Tastey, Quiet, Welcoming
Cons: Pricey, Messy

Going back for seconds!! - Edit
I went to Huggers last week and will be going back for seconds! I got the BBQ burger and it is honestly the best vegan burger I've ever had in the three years I have been vegan.
And that's saying something because I've had (and made) some pretty fab burgers.
The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was chill and the orange-ade was delicious

Delicious Burgers - Edit
Their burgers are just delicious, super tasty!!. I'm not a burger person but they were really good, they serve them with delicious french fries but literally no more than 6 fries so... Anyway, the cakes are good too, so overall the food is delicious as well as the drinks. The environment is calm, with nice music and the staff is very nice. Will definitely comeback.
Pros: Tasty burgers, Friendly staff, Calm and nice place
Cons: Not too wide menu, Small portion of fries
