amazing! - Edit
Can't believe I stumbled across this wonderful little diner so close to me, and especially so close to my new job (they do take away so I can see my breaks being full of Vegan burgers haha). They were so welcoming, the decor was cool, and I finally got my veggie boyfriend to try vegan mac and cheese!
Read moreGiving 4 because the food wasn't quite as amazing as I wanted it to be, but for the price it was absolutely amazing and I recommend it totally! My boyfriend and I will definitely be returning regularly
Edit: changing my review because the food just keeps getting better!!!
Pros: cheap!, easy location for me to get too, they had mac and cheese!!!

Good vegan junk food in a venue which is getting worked on and will be great - Edit
The food is tasty and presented in a great way. The venue is nice but is going to be worked on and I’m sure that will improve the issue of only really being barstools.
Read morePros: Loads of options, Great presentation and taste, Nice staff
Cons: Lack of seating, barstools only for most part, A little expensive

Delicious mac n cheese - Edit
We ate at the Hawker Market venue by the river. We had the pizza mac n cheese and the tornado fries, both of which were lovely. Very fun and tasty. Mac n cheese was warming in the outdoor seating! Great venue for a large group of people as we were able to explore food and drink options and then regroup to eat together on the benches.

American diner experience - Edit
A brilliant vegan American diner, great choice of 'dirty' vegan food, offering milkshakes, burgers, burritos, donuts etc etc. The vibe is amazing, I wanted to try it all and I almost did. Really really worth a visit if you find yourself in Newcastle couldn't recommend more!!

Mac n cheez please - Edit
A bit small but a really nice place. Took my 10 year old omni sister and she said the mac n cheez was better than normal cheese! I’m not a fan of the ‘meats’ but the mac n cheez is my favourite 👌🏼

Best Vegan food I've had. Could not make anything like this at home! - Edit
I had the breakfast pancakes. I always thought something like that would be very dependent on the intricate meat and egg flavours and a vegan version would not compare but this was amazing. Rich buttery pancake and mosy convincing egg texture yet. It was a religious experience.

The American Dream - Edit
This was my second visit to grumpy panda after going on the opening week. I am pleased to say it has gone from strength to strength since and enhanced it's menu along the way. On our two visits we have devoured the chilli cheese hot dog, mac n cheese pot, frickin chicken burger, chilli cheese rib dog and bbq wings, all of which were delicious. Everything is made from scratch and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Quality junk food if that makes sense. On our visit today we also purchased a delicious peanut butter and jam donut. A must visit for everyone.

My boyfriend and I come here regularly and it never fails to impress! They always seem to be somehow improving on an already amazing menu. The big kahuna burger and Mississippi mud pie shake is probably one of my favourite things to get, but it is so hard to choose!

Good but not Great - Edit
I went expecting junk food, given that is what they pitch themselves as, and that's what I got. It's very casual, sitting on stools and food in a plastic basket sort of place. Which is all fine by me, just don't go expecting a restaurant.
Read moreThe staff were friendly. My burger came quick. The house seasoned fries and slaw were great. The burger was completely pleasant but nothing special- bit too soft and the flavour could be going with amping up for my tastes.
I wouldn't go out of my way for it again but would happily go if I were passing.
