The perfect vegan brunch - Edit
Visited vegan earth today when passing through Bedford - it was absolutely incredible. I had the full breakfast which came with sourdough toast, spinach, tomatoes, sausages, beans and one of the best tofu scrambles i have ever tasted. The coffee was also delicious. A must visit - i will definitely be back to try the very tempting selection of cakes😍

Good lunch/brunch style menu with tasty cakes too. Good food (can recommend the BLT) though not necessarily the quickest

Amazing Vegan cafe & gift shop - Edit
This place is fantastic. It has a nice cosy atmosphere, you can buy handmade local vegan gifts/decorations/art/beauty products etc, the staff are lovely and it’s a full vegan menu. It was busy and it took a little while for the food to come but it was worth the wait! I had the special aubergine, coconut and daal curry with rice which was gorgeous! My partner had the shawarma wrap made with mushrooms & tempeh which was good too. We also had hot chocolates (one oat and one coconut milk), a bakewell slice and a cinnamon bun. All amazing! Would absolutely recommend this place

Good filling options - Edit
This vegan café in the centre of Bedford is easy to miss, as they haven't updated the name of the old restaurant where it's located (Number 13).
Read moreFortunately, when inside the experience improves! This café offers lighter snacks like soup, cakes and coffee or more substantial meals like a full breakfast. At the front there is a number of vegan books to flick through and local crafts and art to buy. The decor gets worse the further down the room you go but maybe it's a work in progress?
Food tasted great, but did take quite a while to arrive (there was a sense of panic/stress in the staff coping with all the customers) I just wish it stayed open for longer!
Pros: Good range of quality food, Staff are friendly, Arts and crafts available
Cons: Bad exterior signage, Slow service, Short opening hours (stock runs out)

Awesome place. - Edit
Green Earth Cafe has the most welcoming staff, who offer a warm, homely and chilled atmosphere you could be mistaken for being in your own home. For newcomers and regulars it is like you are part of their family.
Read moreAll items of food, cakes and bakes are almost all made on site, food freshly prepared and is amazingly tasty.
There is also an array of locally made (Made in Bedfordshire) crafts which include soaps, jewellery, crystals, and wooden items.
This is a cafe you will love to return too as it's like being part of a fantastic family (I do).

Very pleased with everything - Edit
My non vegan friend and I were staying in Bedford for 2 nights I was very happy to find a fully vegan place so close to our hotel. Food and staff was amazing. Quirky little place. Also selling hand made things like home accessories, body care products, as well as some crystals.
Read moreMy friend was also very pleased with it all. She never liked tofu, but she tried my scrambled tofu and the next morning we gone back that's what she ordered.
I can't even say this as a negative thing because everything was so amazing, but just to help out anyone looking for Green Earth the future. The outside it still has it's old sign up The number 13. But I'm sure that's something they are working on 😊💚🌿😌 We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Just what I needed - Edit
I've just moved to Bedford, my home town, after 15 years living in Brighton. Vegans are spoilt for choice in Brighton, but I was scared there would be literally nowhere offering anything approaching a vegan brekkie in Bedford. Then I found Green Earth. Lovely lighting, chilled atmosphere, good size and a great apparent cross-section of Bedfordians eating there.
Read moreI went for the big breakfast and I'm a bit ashamed to say it was my first ever time eating tofu scramble. I've always pussyfooted around giving it a go as I found the idea a bit ridiculous: eggs are eggs, and you can't replicate them. But today it fell into place: it's not eggs - it's tofu scramble. They're not trying to replicate anything. As part of the breaklfast I couldn't avoid having it, but It was a revelation: delicately spiced, beautiful texture and absolutely delicious.
Everything else was marvellous too: the toast was - I think -rye. Real depth of flavour. Proper fare. Sausages were ace. Good to have spinach as well. Someone had obviously given some careful thought to what ended up on my plate - no crummy, slapdash half measures here. Amazing 'cortado' coffee too - had to have two of them. I left the place stuffed and very happy. Smiley patrons and laid back vibes - ten out of ten. Thank you, Green Earth. I think this is gonna be my market day treat.
Pros: Delicious grub, Good atmosphere, Friendly staff
Cons: Tomato a bit more charred/coloured pleez, Would've achieved nirvana adding hash browns

Delightful Vegan Café - Edit
My sister and I recently found this café after searching for vegan coffee shops in Bedford. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very inviting. I loved the decor of the shop as well and the gifts they had on sale. I am a big fan of oat milk and the fact they us Oatly is a big thumbs up! The coffee was perfect and so were the cakes. I will definitely be returning and recommending this café.

Really good food for a relaxing brunch - Edit
Found this more easily than we expected and enjoyed a very good coffee/tea (loads of tea!) then had brunch. We were on a relaxed pace anyway but it wasn't the fastest service - suited us, though, and clearly all cooked fresh. The food choice was great and the food itself was really tasty. Lovely little shop part too with eco gifts/household products. I'd definitely go back!

My wife & I enjoyed a beautiful vegan all-day breakfast here and we were blown away at the quality & taste of the food. The breakfast was expertly put together and the service from Rachel was second to none. There is also some wonderful local art work on display as well as for sale here. We didn't get to try some of the vegan cakes but will definitely be back for those - can't wait!
