Sadly disappointed 😞 - Edit
Lots of vegan options but I had the big breakfast and it was tasteless and the sausages were so raw they gave me a stomach ache. I felt like I had wasted £13 and wouldn't go back, which is a shame after being recommended the place by a few locals.

It’s like the tardis! - Edit
Stepping through what appears to be a small entrance and a small area at the front with a counter of sweet treats the place opens up in to a massive seating area. That said, the way it’s zoned and laid out it is very cosy.
Read moreColourful 70’s vibe going on, friendly staff and delicious food, and a great menu. I’d love to go back and try more of their food.
We had the tofu scramble and the smashed avocado for our breakfast enroute to the airport.
Great toilets, clean and well stocked plus beautifully decorated.
We parked in the nearby shopping centre carpark and enjoyed free parking, thank you Bedford.
Pros: Everything

Always Amazing Food! - Edit
We've been here a few times now, as a group, and as just 2. The breakfasts are amazing. Love their tofu scramble, so much flavour! Tea is delicious, and my partner always loves the big breakfast. The lemon drizzle cake was devoured by us today before we managed to get a photo!

Fantastic place - Edit
I've wanted to visit for ages and got the chance yesterday. Absolutely fantastic space with a little shop of arty things too. I had a BLT (gluten free) and a delicious gluten free cake afterwards. My partner had a scrambled tofu and bacon sandwich followed by a Bakewell cake. Delicious, friendly and I just wish that I lived nearer!

Delight for the senses - Edit
The food is a real treat, cooked to perfection and very comforting. We had the waffles (not to be missed), the vegan breakfast and the focaccia special. Best vegan scramble I ever had. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Very relaxing restaurant atmosphere as well, with a little souvenir section selling attractive looking crafts.

Amazing Vegan cafe & gift shop - Edit
This place is fantastic. It has a nice cosy atmosphere, you can buy handmade local vegan gifts/decorations/art/beauty products etc, the staff are lovely and it’s a full vegan menu. It was busy and it took a little while for the food to come but it was worth the wait! I had the special aubergine, coconut and daal curry with rice which was gorgeous! My partner had the shawarma wrap made with mushrooms & tempeh which was good too. We also had hot chocolates (one oat and one coconut milk), a bakewell slice and a cinnamon bun. All amazing! Would absolutely recommend this place
Read moreUpdated 15.05.2022: Had the Greek salad wrap with cashew feta, a laksa and chai latte & roobis. All delicious and food came quickly. Was quite when we arrived just after 12 on a Sunday but full by 1 so either arrive early or make a reservation. Staff very friendly and helpful

Good filling options - Edit
This vegan café in the centre of Bedford is easy to miss, as they haven't updated the name of the old restaurant where it's located (Number 13).
Read moreFortunately, when inside the experience improves! This café offers lighter snacks like soup, cakes and coffee or more substantial meals like a full breakfast. At the front there is a number of vegan books to flick through and local crafts and art to buy. The decor gets worse the further down the room you go but maybe it's a work in progress?
Food tasted great, but did take quite a while to arrive (there was a sense of panic/stress in the staff coping with all the customers) I just wish it stayed open for longer!
Pros: Good range of quality food, Staff are friendly, Arts and crafts available
Cons: Bad exterior signage, Slow service, Short opening hours (stock runs out)

Awesome place. - Edit
Green Earth Cafe has the most welcoming staff, who offer a warm, homely and chilled atmosphere you could be mistaken for being in your own home. For newcomers and regulars it is like you are part of their family.
Read moreAll items of food, cakes and bakes are almost all made on site, food freshly prepared and is amazingly tasty.
There is also an array of locally made (Made in Bedfordshire) crafts which include soaps, jewellery, crystals, and wooden items.
This is a cafe you will love to return too as it's like being part of a fantastic family (I do).
