Quality and service have deteriorated - Edit

2026: We came as a big group to celebrate a birthday with afternoon tea. There was a mix of dietary requirements and allergies, all advised of during the booking. Despite this it took an hour for drinks/food to arrive. It took a further half an hour to get some water. They were seriously understaffed and needed to check a lot on our order.
Overall the food quality wasn’t as good as previously. Cakes seemed basic, Lemon drizzle was dry and none seemed homemade. The sandwiches were a bit measly and I really disliked the vegan cheese one. The best bit was the scones with vegan cream and jam and the pea soup. Not sure if you can just order a cream tea, but if you can you’d be better off with that. I hope they improve things as it was definitely better previously.

2023: We haven’t been to the brasserie as the vegan options are quite limited but we’ve had the vegan afternoon tea at Anna’s tearoom. We used the online booking system and specified that we were having vegan options. We thought the food was good quality, good value and the vegan food was comparable if not better than the non vegan choices that others in our group had. The surroundings were beautiful and traditional and the service was good. We couldn’t finish all of the cakes and took some away with us.
