Cafeteria style, all vegan - Edit
Green Cuisine is a 100% plant based cafeteria style cafe. I got tofu, cheezy pasta with greens, more greens, rice, roasted potatoes, squash. This was a perfect, no fuss, casual dinner.

Food that makes you happy ! - Edit
What can I say- this place is amazing! We have been in Victoria for a little over 48 hours and eaten in Green Cuisine 4 times! The food is delicious and even the fantastic cakes ice cream and desserts feel like healthy food... combined with great value and great principles. We are sad to be leaving tomorrow... please consider relocating to Brighton in the UK!

Spectacularly *solid* - Edit
Cafeteria style buffet with some ok options in the mix. As a buffet with numerous options, no single item rocked, but it was all kinda OK. Mainly just happy to eat somewhere with plant-based confidence.

Best vegan eats in Victoria - Edit
Love, love, love this place! It's my family's go-to anytime we're downtown for a casual meal after a festival or walkabout. Everything looks and tastes home-cooked and is simply delicious. I also love that so many of their staple packaged products are available in local grocery stores.
Read moreFood is buffet-style, priced by weight, so when eating in, to avoid a surprise at the till, be careful how many heavy items (mostly in the hot food section) you add to your plate. Soups and breads are individually price, and salads and condiments are cheap and satisfying, but maybe go easy on the potatoes, proteins (tempeh, falafel) and cooked veggies if you're watching your pennies. Still lots of reasonable options. I routinely fill my plate for less than $15 and eat like a queen. Desserts are also amazing, so take these to go if you don't have room right after eating. :-)
If you're missing an alcoholic option, walk across the courtyard to Whistle Buoy Brewing afterwards, indoors in winter, outdoors in summer. A perfect way to end a beautiful day in beautiful Victoria, whether you're local or visiting.
Pros: Amazing selection of awesome vegan dishes., Everything tastes homemade, only better., How have I missed that they deliver???
Cons: Need to plan ahead for their 8 pm daily closing.

Definitely worth a visit for the ice cream - Edit
I was a little disappointed by the dinner buffet selection and the overall look and feel of the restaurant. What I had was decent but not sure if it would be worth a second visit.
Read moreThat said, the staff was friendly and the ice cream (available on the super cute "Cafe side") was absolutely TO DIE FOR! They offer a huge selection of vegan ice cream and fruit sorbets in cups or homemade vegan waffle cones.
My favorites were Mint Chocolate Chip and the Pralines & Cream. And, yes, I went back for seconds of desert!

Longtime vegan and vegetarian classic - Edit
Green Cuisine is vegan and vegetarian icon in Victoria. It's a pay-by-weight buffet serving wholesome and hearty food. They're listed as a vegetarian restaurant but when I went in July 2026 everything seemed vegan. The ingredients are clearly listed on the labels. There's an incredible selection of desserts as well. The vibe is laid-back and hippie. There's a spacious dining area with views of the Market Square.

If you ever visit Victoria, this is a restaurant you absolutely have to check out! 💚
It’s a pay by weight buffet, so you can choose exactly what you want and as much as you’d like! There are so many delicious options that it’s almost impossible not to fill your plate. 😍 Even if you can’t finish everything, you can take the leftovers home, so no worries!
They even have a kombucha station where you can make your own kombucha, which was such a fun experience! 🍹
My absolute favorites were the cornbread 🌽, falafel 🧆, and the arame seaweed salad🖤. They also had an amazing selection of desserts, and the vegan macarons were absolutely perfect! 💕 Even with a plate full of food, the price was surprisingly reasonable.
Right next door is their cafe, where you can grab desserts, drinks, and gelato. 🍨 I tried the Rocky Road and Tiger Tail gelato, and both were delicious! They weren’t overly sweet, which made them the perfect treat after lunch.💛
I highly recommend this place if you’re in Victoria! 🌟

Ok food - Edit
I had high expectations due to the glowing reviews, but would not be excited to come back again. I ordered the noodle bowl with tofu and after waiting for a while (I think they forgot my order), the noodles came out stuck together. Overall, ok if you are really hungry...

Wholesome food and delectable treats - Edit
This is my town, and I dine at Green Cuisine often. The self-serve buffet lets diners choose exactly what and how much they want. Since the buffet items are sold by weight, in order to dine more cheaply, you could take less of the heavier items, like potatoes. There are always two good soups on offer, for a very reasonable price - it's a great value. The focaccia bread is delicious, and the cornbread is good too - they are sold by the piece. Stews, shepherd's pie, lasagna, tofu and tempeh dishes, greens and other vegetables, plus salads both green and noodly. As for desserts, my favourite is the sticky ginger cake, but all the cookies, muffins and other sweet treats are excellent too (Not-Nanaimo Bars and macarons included). Oh, and ice cream! A range of gelatos are served in the adjacent coffee bar, along with hot drinks.
Read moreThe chiller offers housemade tofu, tempeh, sauerkraut, mochi and sometimes discounted buffet items.
I've been going to Green Cuisine for more than two decades, and it always satisfies.
Added in 2023: Green Cuisine Café is now beside the buffet room, offering an array of coffees and treats. The ice cream chest has moved in here as well.
Added in 2025: Colourful t-shirts and tote bags available.
Added in 2026: Whole pizzas and noodle boxes are back - hooray! Also new, in the chiller beside the door, are a few frozen meals for takeaway: I enjoyed both the Macaroni-and-Cheese and Shepherd's Pie (made with pea protein).
