The best Italian restaurant outside Italy - Edit
The food at this place is some of the best I’ve ever had. The pizza was probably the best pizza I’ve ever had, including anywhere in Italy. I had the beyond sausage pizza and we also had the lasagna. Would 100% recommend this place!

This place doesn’t take bookings so there’s often a small wait, but well worth it. The pizzas are light and fresh with puffy crusts. The toppings are different but they work. The almond croquettes are amazing, definitely get those!

Great location close to all the bars and venues in Newtown. The pizza was nice but the Tiramisu was fantastic. The staff are a bit meh but maybe I just caught them on a bad day .

Gigi Pizzeria is our favourite vegan pizza place and one we keep coming back to. The pizzas have that authentic wood fired flavour, with fresh San Marzano tomatoes and the kind of “cheesy” taste you want from a great vegan pizza. Our favourite is the calzone speciale, which we end up ordering almost every time. The only thing I would love to see is the menu changing a bit more often, maybe with some new pizza ideas, stronger pasta options, and a few different entrees. Still, it is an easy favourite for us.

I noticed all pizzas come with a cheese I don’t like, except one with Dilectio cheese, which I do like. I asked if I could add the Dilectio cheese to my pizza (paying extra) and remove the one I didn’t like. At first, the staff said it wasn’t possible, explaining it was about their “designed experience,” not the money.

We had both a pizza and a calzone, and they were absolutely amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic — you can tell they really care about their ingredients and flavors. Highly recommend adding this spot to your list! We were leaving the next day but definitely would’ve come back for a second visit if we stayed longer.

The lasagne was very good, had tiny bit of delicious meatball chunks in a tomato paste type texture, but wasn't super cheesy/gooey.

Went with friends so hot to try several things! Pizza, lasagne and risotto balls were mouthwatering but the surprise for me was the calzone! It was absolutely mouthwatering! Very fresh and delicious with amazing texture! Love everything and need to go again!

Best bite of the vacation - Edit
My partner and I tried a pizza with red sauce (spinach, mushrooms, fried eggplant) and one with white sauce (zucchini). They were both heavenly and it was hard to pick a favorite. The sauces were well balanced and bursting with flavor. The crust was light, airy, and flavorful - floppy in the middle but crisp on the end. The parmesan flakes they used were magnificent. I wish I would have went back to try more!

Best vegan pizza I've tried so far. We went here while visiting Sydney a couple of months ago and I haven't even bothered buying pizza again since I've been back in Brisbane because I know the options here aren't as good. We ordered the cappricio pizza without olives and one of the herbed foccacias.

We got the 4 Formaggi, which had all the different DF cheeses we could possibly want. It was so rich and creamy, and my friend who loves dairy cheese said so herself that it tastes just like it. She gave the pizza her seal of approval, so it goes to show you don’t need dairy to make an excellent pizza! My other friends got the Marinara Tradizionale, which was well seasoned and had a great crust!

Every time we visit Sydney we make a point of it to drop by Gigi’s when we reunite with friends, super delicious and quick food at fair prices for what you’re given. Really makes me miss living in the inner west every time we come back here.

I only ordered here, didn’t make it there unfortunately. The variety and choices of vegan cheeses is incredible. The pizza has a very nice wood Ofen flavour and was just amazing. I also had the vegan tiramisu as desert it was also outstanding!
