The best pizza and vegan tiramisu - Edit
Amazing food with a lovely atmosphere. It was a while ago that I visited but I think about it often. They also give you bread whilst you wait for your food. Highly recommend.

Best Italian food I’ve ever had! - Edit
What’s not to love! Everything was vegan and absolutely amazing! We had the Italian sausage pizza with a breath taking tiramisu. Seriously… get the tiramisu. No photos unfortunately because I was too busy devouring my food.

Authentic and delicious Italian - Edit
Gigis is one of many incredible restaurants along the ‘Vegan Mile’ of King St Newtown. You can get a range of incredible, authentic pizzas, pastas and calzones here, not to mention some fantastic desserts. It’s got a great atmosphere, amazing staff and it’s one of my top picks in Newtown!

we shared two pizzas, the Patate and the Sporcaccione. they were the best pizzas we have ever had. the staff were friendly and helpful. the atmosphere was great and no wonder it is so popular. we haven’t been here for a long time and i can say without doubt it has improved since then.

This feels like a proper Italian pizzeria. The cheese is soo good, at one point my cousin asked if I was sure it was all vegan.

I have a nut allergy and they changed my order so it wouldn’t have nuts. I ordered the Mista salad. We also got the Marinara pizza and it was delicious! Will absolutely come back!

Came to Gigi after multiple recommendations from fellow Happycow’ers. I ordered the Regina pizza and pomodoro. The salad was nice and refreshing and the pizza was delicious. #Veganuary

Delicious pizza - Edit
I went with my omni friends and ordered the patate and capriccio pizza along with a focaccia with oregano. The focaccia was actually just a plain pizza with oregano, but we enjoyed the patate a lot. The capriccio lacked hemp cheese and was a bit soggy from overloaded toppings although the artichoke was excellent. The chilli oil is very tasty too!

Had better - Edit
We were looking forward to a great pizza but got disappointed with a pizza that was dry around the outside and soggy in the middle, also there seems to be a very liberal interpretation of the menu. The toppings you get and the toppings described on the menu are different. All in all we had better and I mean heaps better!

Brilliant - Edit
Wow. This place is great. Fantastic menu with lots on offer including a specials board. We loved how they are able to put pizzas on stands on the table to create more room and also on stands next to the table so you can order as much as you like while sitting at a table for two. We got carried away by the deliciousness of the menu and certainly ended up having some left over pizza to take away.
Read moreThe Salsiccia e Broccoli pizza was particularly outstanding! The pizzas are not shy of toppings and are super filing.

Very good pizza - Edit
Had a Salsiccia e Broccoli pizza and the Gnocchi. Found it very strange that the Salsiccia e Broccoli has "broccoli" in the name and "garlic & chilli sautéed broccoli" in the decription as well as what is clearly broccoli in the picture, but then was served with friarielli. When I asked if it was meant to have broccoli they said no, it is just a name and that it is actually meant to be friarielli. The pizza was still very nice, but it's always disspointing to not get what you expect/pay for. Aside from that, I can't really fault the pizza, the pizza base was one of the best I've ever had (vegan or not).
Read moreThe Gnocchi was good, but the sauce was very intense, there just wasn't enough else going on to tame the sauce, a bit more cheese could have balanced it out maybe. Shame they only have the one pasta dish, I would have preferred a pink sauce.
As for the restaurant; I found the lighting to be a bit too dim and the music a bit too loud.
I really wanted to love this place and had high expectations based on the reviews, but overall I wasn't blown away. The food was good, albeit a little pricey, I will come back to try another pizza next time I'm in town.
Pros: Excellent pizza
Cons: Dim lighting, Loud music, Expensive

Literally amazing food! Loved the pizza but the salad was so so good - had pistachios and dried apple. Maybe better than the pizza!

This is a 3 years late review as the lasagna is no longer available on their menu 😅. I would definitely come back to Gigi’s to try out their gnocchi, other desserts and their highly raved about pizzas when I get the chance! The lasagna and chocolate custard cannoli was very delicious 😋

Outstanding pizza - Edit
Gigi Pizzeria is one of my favorite pizza places anywhere. Its crust is just the right amount of chewy; there are a great range of toppings; and the service is friendly. We got pizza from Gigi twice while in town and ate in a nearby park, so I can't speak to the vibe, but everything else was excellent.

Great vegan pizza - Edit
It's great. It's yummy. But it's not the best. We had the Atlantic pizza and it was great, the sauce was amazing, and although it's been a long time since I've had seafood pizza this one really reminded me of true seafood pizzas.
Read moreThe special that we had was tomato base pizza with eggplant and mushrooms and it was just fine. No hook, no zing.

Never disappointed with Gigi’s, they have so many pizzas, pastas, sides and desserts, both veggie based and faux meat/cheese based. Can be a bit pricy for a few courses but it’s well worth it for a nice dinner!

Vegan Wood-Fired Pizzas - Edit
Known for their vegan wood-fired pizzas! I enjoyed the pizza I ordered, which contained minimal processed ingredients (except for vegan cheese) yet tasted very flavourful. The tiramisu dessert was good too. I did find the lighting rather dim, and it got quite noisy with people trying to talk over the loud music; I understand it's subjective and some people might like this ambience though. This is a populary eatery that draws a crowd/queue; reservations not accepted. Note that they are a cashless eatery, and 10% surcharge is applied on public holidays. Few minutes' walk from Newtown Station.
