Some of the best coffee I’ve ever tried - Edit
I ordered a flat white and it was rich, creamy and delicious! Also had the avocado toast which was excellent. Cozy upstairs & downstairs seating. Definitely check this place out!

This place does amazing food as well as coffees etc. they even roast their own now. You can also work or study on a laptop in their basement area.

Cosy quiet spot with delicious vegan breakfast and great coffee - Edit
The vegan breakfast here was delicious and one of the best I’ve had – butter beans, harissa potatoes and vegan sausages but with flatbread, a garlic oat yoghurt and chilli oil twist. Also some of the best coffee I’ve had in London, roasting their own coffee beans in-house.

Good breakfast spot - Edit
We had some Wraps, Sandwiches and a bun. All of them were pretty solid. Its a bit pricy but a good quality. The service was good and the place cute.

I don’t get the hype - Edit
I see the vision but the portions were small for the price if you compare it to other popular vegan brunch places in London so it’s probably best to just come for a coffee and snack rather than a solid brunch.
Read moreStaff don’t say hello or goodbye and just look like they don’t want to be there and the menu is mid.

I love that their portions are sized sensibly. Many places give you more to try to make you feel good about hospitality expenses whereas I’d prefer to get a sensible healthy portion of delicious food.

Nice cafe - Edit
Update January 2026: had the pancakes and they were good! Expensive but still a good size and tasty.
Read moreJuly 2023: A very nice little cafe serving all vegan lunches. The food wasn’t spectacular but was certainly nice and a decent size for lunch. I would definitely visit again

Best pancakes in London - Edit
We can't claim to have tried all pancakes in London, but we'd wager that these would rank as some of, if not, the best. The protein pancakes were exceptional, the whipped oat cream and peanut drizzle combining to make a sensational breakfast experience. We also had the Gecko breakfast, which in itself was delicious but was somewhat overshadowed. The coffee was tip top too. The cafe is a cool little place, with some nice outdoor seating too, on each side of the cafe.

Amazing place for a coffee - Edit
I tend to be very picky about coffee outside, and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I tried the mocha, and it tasted great (and looked very pretty!) I also ordered a pain au chocolat, I was curious because it didn't look like a classic pain au chocolat, and honestly I preferred that one to the standard one (and I'm French), it tasted amazing and I loved the texture. It's a bit expensive, but I recommend if you want an actually good coffee!

Fabulous Breakfast - Edit
Considering the location, it was not as loud as one might expect (at least when we were here). Kind of cool how it was accessible from both sides of the building.
Read moreLoved the food, no remarks there.
During our visit, there was once again somebody asking for cow's milk who didn't seem to understand that they had entered a vegan store, but the staff stayed friendly and calm throughout the numerous explanations.
I was also going to comment on the odd "bathroom" that was not exactly a room, but rather a corner in the lounge, with only the toilet being behind a door and the sink being outside right in the lounge. But apparently, as I've noticed this in other stores later on, that is not too uncommon in London.
Whenever I visit London again, I will be faced with the difficult decision whether to try out other cafés and restaurants that I've never been to before, or to come back here again.

Wonderful vegan cafe with great pastries and meals - Edit
This is a great vegan cafe in Shoreditch, just off Brick Lane. Great drinks and pastries. The iced matcha and chocolate croissant were wonderful. I’ve been here a few times. Staff are super friendly. Lovely venue with an open kitchen.

Their kimchi sandwich was out of this world. I love that you can pick half portions in case you want to try different sandwiches or have room for something sweet! Music was not too loud and prices are decent

A Special Coffee House - Edit
Going downstairs was a lovely surprise. What a chill and quaint space. The vibes are on point here. We ordered a vegan breakfast and it was incredible. The only downside of Gecko is the price.

Gecko Coffeehouse - Edit
Every single thing I had here was amazing, especially the chocolate croissant and the plain croissant. I have to say, these were some of the best in town! The oat flat white was delicious as well. It’s so nice to be able to go to a fully vegan coffeehouse and not worry about cross-contamination. I really appreciate this place! (There is a massive amount of seating in the lower ground floor area.)

Meh... - Edit
I was looking forward to this but was disappointed.
Read moreAlthough the service was friendly, the coffee was terribly sour and the pain au chocolate was dry.
I raised it with the staff and the excuse was: we've changed suppliers and the pastries are no longer great.
For the coffee I heard: sorry but that hasn't been raised with us before, must have been a bad shot. Yeah, right...
The decor was nice and the staff seemed to have a lot of fun, judging by the noise.
Maybe I'm just too old 😂.
Someone in their 20s might have enjoyed the experience but for what it was, it was very expensive and I didn't enjoy it.
Pros: Decor, The fact that it's 100% plant-based.
Cons: Stale pastries, Sour coffee, Noisy staff

I got a latte and a banana bread with Chocolate chips and gnome child got an iced matcha latte and a slice of carrot cake.
Read moreThe latte was strong and the banana bread just tasted like a very chocolaty cake to me. Both were very nice but I didn't get any taste other than chocolate from the bread.
I tried gnome child's carrot cake which was nicer but I couldn't handle how rich it was today apparently.
It was a good price and was relaxed for how busy it seemed.
