Woww!! - Edit
I followed the previous recommendation for the salty soy milk (3, ask for no shrimps) and sesame bread (21) and it was so good - $75 total.
Read moreArrived at 7:09, served at 7:20 which is a great turn around for me.
Recommendations for a smooth process - look at a menu on google beforehand because happy cow quality isn’t good enough to read and the queue moves quick. At the first person you order drinks including the salty soy milk. After that you order breads etc - really easiest to just give the number, they’re hopping languages a lot.
Soooo goood!

Not to our taste - Edit
Clearly this is a beloved eatery, and everything you hear about the queue is true. We arrived about 7:30 in the morning and queued for 55 minutes. With that kind of wait time, our expectations may have been a tad too high. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and spoke English and were able to help us navigate our choices to vegan items. We had the salty soy milk and the sweet soy milk, both hot, and then a sesame bread with a doughnut type thing in the middle the food was way too greasy for our tastes, it left a residue of oil all over your fingers when you touched the bread and the doughnut. And the soy milk was interesting, but I wouldn’t order it again clearly it’s an us thing, but wanted to give this review for folks that do not like greasy food. I don’t think it’s the healthiest option to eat there.

Salty Soy Milk FTW - Edit
You come to Taipei and the one thing you want to do is wait in a big fat line to get some salty soy milk?
Read moreYes ma'am, and it was worth every drop.
Fuhang is an incredibly popular spot for both locals and tourists. It's located inside a food court where it's the first (and only) spot to open at 5:30 and is always greeted with a line of people waiting. I was lucky enough to be staying nearby and could make the 15 min walk to try their famed soy milk and buns.
Waiting in line wasn't more than 15 minutes for us at 6am, so totally doable and realistic.
The menu is really straightforward and English is available. You have to know your order number beforehand and simply tell them what you want, and they'll put it in for you. They have a system on lock so keep it simple when ordering.
For vegans like myself, you'll want to get either soy milk (no shrimp on the salted one, which I highly recommend getting) and yu tiao/flatbread without egg. They'll know which ones do not contain egg or milk, so be sure to ask.
The Taiwanese breakfast was excellent. Their salty soy milk really is special and is better than other places I've had in Taiwan. The bread here is great too but you really need to order the soy milk to say you've gotten the full Fuhang experience.
Totally worth getting up early to wait in line for breakfast.

Worth the wait - Edit
This breakfast place is known for it several earned Michelin rewards. You know you are at the right place when you see the extended queue, which starts already outside the place, in the street, and run alongside several corners. From what I reads the average waiting time is more than 1hour, so I was happy with my 35’ waiting time to enter the building, choosing my items and seated at a table.
Read moreBefore ordering your items at the counter, you pass by kitchen where you can see how your pastries are made. It’s nice to see everything is freshly made on a daily basis.
I think you cannot go wrong with any of the items from the menu, but I would definitely recommend a warm soy or rice milk paired with a freshly made puffy and flaky bread.
Definitely worth the wait, but you need to be patient before being rewarded.

Changed my life - Edit
I cannot stop thinking about the salty soy milk. Its smooth, barely-set, wobbling-melting texture. The fragrant nuttiness it had. The way the tang of chili oil and freshness of chopped scallions and the crunch of fried dough perfectly complimented it. I also got a delicious scallion bread but it paled in comparison with that beautiful soy milk. Yes, the queue can be long and the food court sells all sorts of other things - but Fuhang is a legend for a reason.
Read moreIf you have time afterwards, also check out the market on the ground floor; it is home to an enormous friendly cat.
Access: you will likely have to queue up the stairs, but staff were quick to prioritise elderly and infirm customers and ensure that they were seated fast when I was there - even if they were joining the back of the queue. It will be busy and is in a food court setting.
Pros: Perfect flavour , Open kitchen to admire process, Fast service

IMPORTANT NOTE: salty soy milk has bits of shrimps or at least it used to based on other sites

Soooy Good! - Edit
Their soy milk is very different from the traditional ones we have. It has a strong nut taste or toasted seeds? I have no but it tasted very yummy. 😋

Traditional Breakfast - Edit
The line can get really long but it moves really quickly. When you are dealing with jet lag, it's a nice early hot breakfast. The salty hot tofu was tasty. Ask for spicy -- it's not too hot.
Read moreThe staff is efficient and friendly and there is an English menu available. No labeling for milk or egg content though and language barrier made it difficult to ask more questions.

Very popular and tasty - Edit
The line for the place is long but moves fast. It is a kiosk type location on the second floor of a food court. Their menu is available in English but some things do have egg in it

Very good soymilk - Edit
Good soymilk is hard to find in Taiwan, but Fuhang soymilk is very good! They have sweet/salty, hot/cold soymilk. They have many different kinds of breads and you can see the bread production while you wait. I went there around 11:30 and the line was very long (I was waiting in the staircase), but it went very fast! Only 10mins! During the weekend, you can wait up to 1 hour.
Read morePros: very good soymilk
Cons: eggs and dairy in the breads, so not vegan, long waiting line
