Beautiful location - Edit
This is a lovely café and bakery on the edge of Grosvenor Park. I was looking for breakfast options. Lots to choose from but they don’t offer gluten free bread so was a bit restricted. The porridge was delicious and made fresh, washed down with a nice americano. Lovely to sit outside and watch the dog walkers and squirrels 🐿️

The menu is fantastically simple and the portion size is perfect. Lots of cakes and pastries that I'll never eat, personally, but there's something for everyone.

Worth a detour - Edit
We planned a stop here on our way to pigs beneath the wood in mid wales.
Read moreWe parked for free at the Waitrose and charged our car too. Looks like you could park on street nearer.
It's located just in the park in a lovely building. Friendly staff great location and varied simple menu with some fake stuff and more whole foods. Not overtly vegan to not scare people off I guess but is 100% vegan (June 2025) also several ice cream flavours. Nice strong coffee.
We went fake and had the hotdog, juicy marbles sandwich and a few pastries for later. What3words location may help it is: ///pace.frozen.items.

The Reuben sandwich and the juicy marbles sandwich were delicious! The pastries were a bit dry and disappointing compared to the sandwiches.

Lovely park cafe - Edit
A must if in Chester. Visited Fika when they were located on Chester walls. The new Grosvenor “lodge” location is perfect and hopefully brings them amazing footfall. Great brunch menu, always new pastries & bread available. We got an oat latte, chai latte and cruffin. DELICIOUS. I’ve had the coronation chickpea sandwich before and it was to die for. Love it here. Will be back for the “poached eggs”

Lovely new venue, same delicious food. - Edit
We visited today and had an amazing lunch at the new venue in the park. The venue is gorgeous and is bigger than the previous premises it offers great customer service and food/drink options. Lots of sourdough, pastries and lunch options available. I had the Ruben sandwich and would really recommend it, it was so filling and delicious. I also had a pot of tea (tea leaves - delicious and had enough for 2 servings of tea)

Amazing as always! - Edit
First time in the new location in Grosvenor Park now that the city walls location has closed and still just as good! The new menu is excellent, huge variety and great value, we were spoilt for choice. We went for the Juicy Marbles Steak Sandwich (so realistic!) and Jacket Potato with coronation chickpea and both were gorgeous and very filling. I always leave with a sourdough loaf too, it’s the best I’ve had!

Fika with a view - Edit
Their new location is at the Lodge in Grosvenor Park. It's a really lovely spot, and we enjoyed some fika with a view of the park (and admittedly, a bit of people watching!).
Read moreThe food and drinks were pleasant, but not the best we've ever had. The cinnamon swirl was a little bit dry/stale, the almond croissant was a little bit overdone (but was still tasty), and the pain au chocolat was nice.
My partner was a bit disappointed as his cooked breakfast didn't match the photos. For example, the beans in other photos looked home made with butter beans, and the ones he had were just standard tinned baked beans. Also, there was no bacon, hash brown, or black pudding like the breakfasts he saw in the pictures. He didn't get a choice of v-egg and had scrambled tofu.
We also would have liked to have had a drinks menu to choose from. However, the staff were friendly and helpful with letting us know what is on offer.
Honestly, I don't think any of this has put us off going there again in the future, as we have put a lot of it down to teething issues following their recent move. I genuinely believe they have lots of lovely 5-star reviews for a reason, however, we can only speak on our experience at the time we visited.

First visit today, we had vegan poached egg on sourdough bread toasted and it was delicious, we then followed with a slice of fig/date cake with a lovely topping also delicious. The place was spotlessly clean including the facilities and excellent value for money. Excellent service from the lovely staff
