Menu is great for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Plenty of options to keep full and happy. Vegan poached egg is an amazing addition to the Avo on toast!

Delicious - Edit
First visit today, we had vegan poached egg on sourdough bread toasted and it was delicious, we then followed with a slice of fig/date cake with a lovely topping also delicious. The place was spotlessly clean including the facilities and excellent value for money. Excellent service from the lovely staff

Walking the walls - Edit
Called into Fika wanting a coffee and shelter from the rain, hadn’t realised the cafe is fully vegan! We only had a cappuccino so didn’t eat but would return if we were in the area. Delightful little place, worth a visit.

Quaint and friendly - Edit
Quaint little cafe on the wall. Have been twice and had the poached egg both times because I really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and very low key. I also bought some sour dough which was amazing and a vanilla donut muffin thingy which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended if you are not in a rush and happy to just sit back and relax for a while.

What a gem of a place! - Edit
Cute cafe tucked into the city walls. A warm welcome and quite possibly the tastiest cake I've ever had - light, fluffy, custard cream filled pastry. It was absolutely divine! A nice chilled atmosphere, and it was great to see a small place, busy. Staff were so friendly and chatty and they gave me my cake for free because it was my birthday. How nice is that?!

Lovely small cafe on the city walls, a few yards from the North Gate bridge. Cosy and welcoming with a gentle but lively vibe.

Fab pastries, coffee and super friendly - Edit
This place sells wonderful pastries. We tried the Eccles cake and chocolate 'cruffin' and both were superb. The coffee is lovely too and the hosts are really friendly.

very good pastries - Edit
everything my sister and i got was delicious and i’ll definitely come back. highly rate the pastries, especially as vegan pastries are often hard to find, it’s good that there was so much choice. i’m also picky about coffee so when i say their coffees are good, they are really good

Delicious Eccles cake, not the croissant - Edit
We ordered the almond croissant, cruffin, and Eccles cake. The Eccles cake was very good and I loved the texture it. The cruffin was just okay (I expected a flakey pastry), but unfortunately, the almond croissant was one of the worst I've had in awhile. It was soft with a tiny bit of tasteless almond paste inside. The croissant tasted like the ones you buy from the supermarket. I always thought croissants were meant to be flakey with a slight crunch, especially the end bits. If this was meant to be something else, than I'm mistaken, but it wasn't at all what I expected, I couldn't finish it, and I was disappointed 😞

Fika is a lovely little cafe on the walls of Chester. They had a fabulous selection of pastries, scones and muffins, and the main food menu has a great selection of some vegan food I’d never had before. Can sit in or takeaway. Will definitely be back!

Parked at Delamere Street carpark and walked for 5mins to the wall, take the left hand steps, turn left and it’s a couple of doors down.
Read moreThere’s about four small tables and a couple of window stools. We stopped off for drinks so will return to try the food another time. I ordered the hot choc but had to pass it to my companion as I’d forgotten to specify which milk I preferred 🤦🏼♀️ He said it was nice lol.

Awesome little find - Edit
Came across Fika by chance after travelling to Chester for a different place to eat (which ended up being closed) used this app and found Fika and we were not disappointed, the spicy lentil soup and smoky beans on toast were absolutely delicious, and finished off with a cruffin mmmmm might have also taken home a sourdough loaf. Would definitely eat here again.

I’ve really struggled to find good options for vegan pastries around where I live until I heard of this place. I finally got to have my first pain au chocolat in years, it made my day! Their pastries and coffee are super tasty

Best plant based bakes and lovely atmosphere - Edit
What a rare find. Home baked Cruffins*, breads and cakes: in a cosy welcoming place. Our “family thing” is to visit cafes and taste cakes. Their Cruffins are the best bakes hands down. A glorious hybrid of muffin, croissant with divine fillings. Recommend the Bischoff or Spiced apple versions. Husbands favourite is the carrot cake. . Non vegan husband also loved them. Coffee is superb too. What a location…walk up Northgate Street away from centre until you come to stairs up the the Roman walls…shop on immediate right at top. We are going back this week!

I don't know why its taken us so long to review this place! We always drop in when we are in Chester. The coffee is amazing, the pastries (and recently added lunch menu toasties) are delicious. The staff are super friendly and the cafe has a really nice relaxing decor/atmosphere inside, definitely worth a visit if you are walking the walls!
