Great place! - Edit
Food was great and service was awesome! Got the carrot cake pancakes, seitan, and tofu scramble. The pancakes were absolutely fantastic snd the homemade seitan was tasty too. I did find the tofu scramble a bit bland and watery, but the rest I would recommend.
Pros: great service

excellent - Edit
diverse, fun menu; vibrant space. probably won't come up, but definitely not the venue to inform a friend that you've taken out a hit on an erstwhile friend.

yummy - Edit
I LOVE this place. I wish it was larger, but I love not having to worry about if there are hidden dairy or eggs in my food. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table, but I got a latte and sticky bun while we waited and they were delish!! I just got the tofu scramble and sausage, sticky bun filled me up, but they were tasty. The milkshake with house made kahlua was very sweet (and I love sweets), but it was a little too sweet.
Pros: all vegan menu, friendly staff
Cons: parking, very small dinning area

best in the city - Edit
Fare Well is the best vegan place in the city, hands down. This is one of the only vegan spots I feel comfortable bringing omni friends to. The food is familiar and delicious. Especially love the pierogies, buffalo cauliflower dip, THE BURRATA, and all the breakfast foods. The desserts are also excellent - the fluffernutter bar is INCREDIBLE!

Food was yummy!
We had the burger with roasted potatoes, buffalo cauliflower dip, Greek salad, and chocolate cream pie. Everything was yummy!
Pie slice was a little expensive ($7) for a small slice.
Pros: good food, yummy desserts
Cons: tad expensive

nice place - Edit
First time I went there I was very disappointed, I do have to say it was the week they opened.
Gave them a second try and it was better. Stuff is friendly. Loves their Russian starter (can’t remember the name).
The same owner as Sticky Fingers so they have good cakes etc

Delicious food and friendly staff! - Edit
I love this place! I ordered the tofu scramble and it was the best I’ve ever had. The four of us got a couple of desserts to share - the funfetti cake was our favorite (but you may want to leave some frosting on the plate - it was abundant!). The atmosphere is a modern take on a traditional diner. We were lucky to get a table in the back on a busy Saturday. The staff is incredibly nice and happy to share information about their recipes. There’s even talk they may offer vegan cooking classes at some point (a little prod from the public might help hint hint).

Great lunch - Edit
I had the Reuben sandwich with the soup of the day, it was a great lunch. Maybe a little bit too fat but their menu is made of comfort food so I was ready.
Very tasty, nice place and staff.
Definitely a recommendation!
Pros: all vegan, variety of options

great place - Edit
Sooooo many choices! Everything is vegan. I had the tempeh reuben and my boyfriend had the bbq seitan sandwich. We also split the pierogi app. Everything was so good! We also grabbed a bunch of pastries to go for later.
Pros: completely vegan menu, wonderful sweets and desser
Cons: Too far away from my house (in Maine).

Yummy & a Cool place to Hangout! - Edit
We went for our Friday night Date Night, so glad we did. We got the Polenta fries, a marinara pasta dish, the Mexicali w/o the bun, a Brooklyn (alcoholic drink) and 2 desserts including the seasonal apple crisp. Everything was delicious, the staff was super friendly and professional.
We will definitely be returning!
Pros: Yummy vegan food in a cool neighborhood.
Cons: Would love more gluten free options.

Our Top Vegan Restaurant - Edit
Food is delicious and varied. Love the barrata and various seitan preparations. And of course the sweets are sensational -- even the modest little peanut and jelly squares. We buy the wonderful fresh mozzarella balls to take home.
Pros: Foods excellent, with some unusual selections., Great take-out opportunities (pastries, cheese), Very friendly service.
Cons: I can't think of any Cons.

Wonderful - Edit
My husband and I really enjoyed our trip to Fare Well. What a great addition to the DC food scene!
We ate during Saturday brunch, and wanted to order everything. We ended up sharing a the burrata plate, seitan and waffles, a side of scrambled tofu, and bloody marys. It was all so good! The burrata was a delicious cashew and almond cheese ball served over arugala with crostinis, marinated tomatoes, capers, and pesto. Wow, it was good. The seitan and waffles were quite tasty as well. We got a blackberry lemon doughnut and a sticky bun to go for later. We really enjoyed everything. Only the scrambled tofu was so-so, but it was fine as a side for some extra protein.
We will definitely be hitting up Fare Well every time we are in DC.
Pros: Great menu selection, all vegan, Delicous Food, Lots of amazing bakery items

One our favorites on vacation - Edit
This place was the bomb. I absolutely loved that the items we had did not rely on fake meats or cheeses. Everything felt relatively healthy (except the pastries but that's to be expected). Definitely one of my favorite places we ate on vacation. The chickpea seitan was an awesome texture and the Mexicali burger had really delicious sauces. Super friendly staff.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Healthy-ish, Hip
Cons: None

Warning: You will want to order one of everything! - Edit
I love so many things about this place. The menu is incredible and everything delights. As I don’t live in DC and everything sounded great, I ordered an obscene amount of food plus some more to go. Two words: Vegan Burrata. Seriously, in 13 years of being vegan this was the first I had ever seen it on a menu and it was like a dream come true. The Buffalo Cauliflower Dip is also another gem (maybe my favorite) and the Mexicali Burger was tasty and full of flavor. I wish I could have checked out their brunch as the menu looks delicious. They do have a breakfast all day menu section too. There is indoor seating as well as a cute little courtyard out back where I opted to sit. Perfect for a gorgeous summer afternoon. They have a fill on bakery too and they make the best vegan croissant I have ever had – flaky, soft and buttery. They had probably a dozen or so different cakes, plus cookies, brownies, scones, pain au chocolat, etc. They also serve alcohol and have a cute little bar area.
The staff could not be nicer. Everyone was kind, friendly, attentive and helpful. It’s just a great place to go have a good meal. I sat out back in the garden and ended up befriending a fellow solo diner and sharing a meal together. It is that kind of place, you are going to like everything you eat and everyone you meet. I can’t wait to go back.
Tip: If you are taking the train out of DC, stop by first (it is walking distance – about 5 minutes) and grab some food to enjoy on the train ride home.
Pros: Menu Selections, Friendly Staff, Atmosphere

Desserts were Expensive for Quality - Edit
It's nice to have another all-vegan option in DC but my first trip was a bit disappointing. I ordered a slice of cookie dough cake, which was OK but not for the price ($8.80 for a slice). I also tried the gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, which was very sweet - it tasted like they were trying to hide the taste of alternative flours with sugar.
I am unlikely to visit again for desserts but may give their diner food a shot.
Pros: Friendly staff, All-vegan
Cons: Expensive, Mediocre desserts

Healthy food, well prepared, with friendly service - Edit
My brunch at Fare Well was great from start to finish. From the pastry and cappuccino to the chilaquiles for the mains, all was tasty and well prepared. (If you're used to authentic Mexican chilaquiles, note that these are not really that; they're essentially cheeseless nachos with a nice, subtle sauce, but still flavorful and satisfying.)
Service was warm, friendly, and helpful.
Enjoy!

Excellent service and food - Edit
We had a great brunch here today. The frittata was delicious, and the coffee, specifically decaf, was amazing. Free refills, too. On a nice day, try to get a table in the charming courtyard.

upsetting service/great food - Edit
My husband took me to Farewell today for Mother's Day brunch. I was so super excited because I'm a vegan but my husband is not. I try really hard to show him that he doesn't really have to miss out on anything nowadays. There are so many options out there!! So, after I saw all the pictures for Farewell I asked him to take me there for Mother's Day with our daughter.
We got there and it was full but we weren't concerned about it. It allowed us all to take a look around and look over the menu with some coffee. Our waiter came over and took our order. I ordered the Blueberry Pancakes, My husband got the Cookie Dough Pancakes and my daughter got the kids Pancakes. We ordered tofu scramble and potatoes to share. I can't explain how excited we were to eat!!
We waited, and waited, and waited and waited!!!!!! Our waiter assured us that the food would be out shortly. However, I doubt he even went to the kitchen to check because we waited for nearly an hour and 10 minutes before we spoke to the manager (because when we spoke to the waiter, he didn't even apologize!). My husband was extremely upset that our ordered was skipped over in the kitchen (As the manager had explained).
The manager was wonderful! Unfortunately, I did not catch her name but she comped all our meal, gave us an extra order of pancakes and gave my daughter a free cupcake. It was really heartbreaking for me to experience such bad service on Mother's Day....as I am trying to convince my husband to transition over.
As for the food: it was absolutely amazing!!! Every order of Pancakes, the tofu scramble, and the potatoes we delicious!!! We decided we will give it another shot since the food was so delicious. If it wasn't for the food being so amazing, we probably wouldn't return. But I believe, it's worth another try.
Pros: Food is amazing, Location is so cute, FOOD IS REALLY AMAZING
Cons: We had a bad server, Kitchen overlooked our order

delicious! - Edit
Had the chilaquiles & a stack of pancakes. Sooo good :) And their espresso coffee has a good kick to it! (It's rare to get good/strong coffee at a diner).
Stop by the baking section and grab some goods. Delicious!
