I had the Herbivore Paratha Tiffin Box, and it was fantastic. The mango chutney and pineapple chow were bursting with flavor with a ting of spice. My boyfriend had the Jerk wings and grinned real big after the first bite. He said the wings were awesome. Cane is now on our list of date-night approved restaurants since my boyfriend is always concerned about the restaurants we try not being vegan friendly.
Cool Caribbean Date Spot for Those In the Know - Edit
The warm, informal vibe of this tiny restaurant is fantastic! We were lucky to slide into a free table and ordered their Herbivore Tiffin boxes. The tamarind sauce was hands down amazing. It made all other tamarind sauces I've had in my life taste like sweet-sour nothing. There were so many flavor notes--clearly a master chef is in the kitchen. The mango chutney was incredibly fresh with a little heat at the end of each bite. (My date got some of the tamarind mayo which blew his mind along with the pork belly.) The rest of the food we got was great, but the chutney/sauces were the stars of our meal. The coconut rice was subtly fragrant--nice, but not sure why it was $6.00. The staff was fantastic and all in all this restaurant is a perfect spot for a cozy dinner for two. It's across the street from a Stickie Fingers location--you can skip right across the road for dessert.
