Get stuffed - Edit

What a nice cosy place this is! The place is small, the food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, the prices are fair, the portions are very generous. This is a must go! Almost everything is vegan, except for one dish and one or two sauces. I love it! And I will definitely go back here if I visit Antwerpen again.

Pros: Friendly staff, Generous portions, Almost all products are vegan

Cons: Small tight place

Falafel Tof Antwerp - Edit

I love this place. Friendly staff, great falafel and baked potatoes. The vegetables and pickles differ from week to week (eggplant, cualiflauwer, chickpeas, hummus, sauerkraut). It has become a trendy place for tourists and hipsters I believe. Sometimes it's very crowded

Pros: Great falafel, Lots of sidedishes, Friendly staff , speak a lot of languages

Cons: Closed on sunday and monday , Sometimes too crowded

Good food, but crowded - Edit

The food is great and I like that everything (excepts a few sauces) is vegan.

Unfortunately, with the place this crowded and their dining procedures as they are, made me uncomfortable eating there. First I get in line and order. Then go to my table and wait to be called. In the meantime three different servers show up one after one, bring a plate, sauces and then fries. After 15 minutes waiting I get nervous, did I miss my call or did I not understand how this works? I go to the front to confirm, get scolded at for standing in the way, back to the table it is. Finally another server arrives and nudges me my falafel is ready. Go back to the front to pick my toppings. Finally I can eat and contemplate whether this was worth it. But wait, the experience isn't over yet! I still have to pay, awkwardly go past the line of people still waiting to order, wait a few more minutes to be noticed and pay.

Overall quite the process to get fast food! Sure its not their fault the place gets crowded but they could make improvements, like paying upfront to avoid that last trip. Or give you a device that bleeps when your food is ready!

Food is of course good, but I recommend going there during non busy times or for take-away.

Pros: Vegan, Choose your own toppings

Cons: Gets crowded, Clumsy dining experience

Best falafel in town - Edit

They know really good what is vegan. Everything is vegetarian. Very good home made falafel, you can choose your own topings from the open counter and the price is about the same as every crappy pitta place that sells falafel. Awesome

Pros: Vegan (except some sauce) , Cheap, Lot of choices for toppings in your falafel sandwi

Great spot! :) - Edit

Falafel Tof reminds me of the Maoz chain. The falafels are very delicious and there is a huge "buffet" of components to put into your sandwich by self-service (f.ex. Carrots, cucumber, chickpeas, Rucola, tomatoes, red cabbage and different vegan sauces)
The staff is very friendly and explains things very clearly.

Pros: Self-service, Great selection, Nice staff

Cons: A bit tight to sit when it is full

A great find: falafel power! - Edit

Similar to Maoz falafel restaurants, Falafel Tof offers very good sandwiches with yummy falafels and many vegetables. Most of the menu is vegan, prices are fair and the staff is friendly. I took away a big sandwich that was tasty but I was a little bit disappointed with the fries. They became rapidly cold and thus, not very good. But on the whole, the place is worth a try!

Pros: good food, mainly vegan, friendly staff, central location

Cons: not 100% vegan, fries not that good

Worth a visit! - Edit

A small (fastfood) place close to the Cathedral serving very tasty falafel in pita bread (or without if you're gluten intolerant).

When you order you'll only get a plain (big) pita bread with falafel and you can choose your fillings yourself. I chose a chickpea and some kind of salad filing? I'm not completely sure what it was, maybe kale? And it was very tasty! They said every filling was vegan, and when you mention you're vegan they dont bring the sauce which isnt vegan to your table. (Still 3 vegan sauces left to choose from)

I usually don't eat fastfood but I definitely want to eat at Falafel Tof again when I visit Antwerp.

Most things are vegan. Just tell them you're vegan and they'll let you know if something's not. The food is all delicious! Great falafel and pita, lots of fresh salads/sandwich toppings. Best meal I've had in weeks.

Best in town! - Edit

This little Falafel place is excellent! The salad selection is super fresh and tasty, and the falafels are cooked to perfection. They also have this amazing mango-turmeric sauce which you really should just put on everything, including the delicious handmade potato wedges. One of the few places in Antwerp where a vegan can comfortably and inexpensively eat- highly recommended!

Pros: Price, Freshness, Friendliness

Simple. Easy. Delicious. - Edit

Went in for lunch, and left fully happy and satisfied. As a touring vegan cyclist, I can't remember the last time I ate at a restaurant and felt this good afterward. It was so good!

Everything is vegan except a yogurt-based salad dressing. I didn't hear anything about a dish available with egg. The falafel menu meal (pita sandwich, fries, drink) is 7,90 Euro. The falafel menu meal can also be ordered as a bowl, without the pita, but otherwise identical in terms of contents. This is also 7,90 Euro. Lastly, you can also order just the sandwich or bowl without the fries or drink.

Be sure to order the hummus for your sandwich *before* you start adding fillings. Otherwise, it ends up on top of everything and not in every bite.

I think I will try to avoid the fries (fried potatoes) next time, though. They are far to good when smothered in ketchup and tahini. That can't be a good thing. :-)

I will be going back as often as I can while in Antwerpen.

Pros: Personable and friendly owner and staff., Cheap, Excellent quality.

Cons: I suppose the take away container.

Fresh, Flavourful, and Friendly Falafel! - Edit

A simple but nice place. Just a few minutes walk from town square. Good for both eat in and take away. You can have just falafel sandwich, just salad, or order as a set of Falafel in Pita bread with fried potatoes and a drink of your choice (iced tea, soda, or water). Every order is served hot from the kitchen, then you can add the sides by yourself, as much as you want. The salad bar is super fresh with variety of fresh and fermented vegetables, also have various dressing and sauce choices.

The owner does almost everything by himself, very active and amiable.

The bathroom is clean.

Pros: Good food & Fair price, Service, Location

Cons: No closed-box for take away Salad

Best falafel in town - Edit

This place has only been open for a couple of months but I would say it's an instant classic. You get a pita bread with falafel and tahina and then you add sides yourself, as often as you like and as much as you like. The sides are excellent, eg chickpeas with sumak, fennel with dill, grilled cauliflower, olives, onions, ... Wide choice of sauces as well. For a few euros more you get a generous portion of fried potatoes and a drink.

Owner is super friendly.

The design is also quite nice, especially the tiny tiles on the bathroom.

Pros: Salad Bar, Large Portions, Owner

Cons: Closes a little early on weekdays
