Lack of customer service. - Edit
I discovered Evolution last year when I was in SD. The food was very tasty for vegan fast food they do a good job. Sadly since moving to the area I found myself choosing to go here less and less due to the lack of customer service. Last summer they had super friendly people working here, they always greeted you with a smile, and were always happy to answer questions about the menu. Lately when I’ve come in, customers were lucky if someone says hello at all. More recently they have on several times forgotten to put things in my bag that were part of my to go orders. That really stinks especially when you realize it after you get home. Today was the last straw for me. I walked in and there were 2 gentleman in front of me, one girl at the register taking a to go order on the phone, and no one in sight to help those of us waiting. Finally a person I’ve come to know as one of the mangers came up and took the order of the guys in front of me. But then after them he turned his back to me and the other people in line and starting talking with his employee I guess about the to go order. He never acknowledged me or the other people in line even to say be with you in a minute. So I stood there a couple more minutes while a 3rd employee walked over again not offering to help us waiting, before I finally just walked out. It’s sad as a vegan I want to support vegan businesses. As I said the food is vegan fast food it’s good, but the lack of customer service is a bummer.

I ate here before going vegan and I was hooked! They have just about any kind of food you are craving! I ended up with the California burrito which proved to me that vegan food could be just as good (actually better) then the traditional version. It is a little more than I would like to pay for fast food but the quality is great!

I’ve been here twice now. And it’s great. I first got the South of the Border Burger, with a black bean patty, and added loaded fries. So freaking good, and really satisfies the craving for a burger. On my way out I got a brownie from their grab and go section, which was also really great.

Charging tax on to-go orders - Edit
When specifically confronted about this issue, the employee got a manager for us to speak with. The manager stated he had no idea and wasn’t sure why they charge tax on to-go orders. I have to wonder how much money they have gotten from the community in this sneaky way. It’s an illegal move against CA law. I would strongly not recommend visiting this establishment.

Chilli cheese fries! - Edit
Stopped by for a late afternoon bite and got the chilli cheese fries. Really delicious bean chilli with a beef substitute. Vegan cheddar was mixed in under the chilli and mozzarella on top. Was really great quality. Only wish I had got the giant brownie as well as it looked incredible!

Super tasty but probably not super healthy. Try the carne asada street tacos. The menu looks like they serve meat, so bring your friends who still dine on flesh and let them order up beef burgers, carne asada, fish tacos and then just giggle as they talk about how good it is.

This place is literally my go to whenever I am craving a burrito or really anything for that matter! I tend to always get my usual, which is a California burrito to which I request an add on of lettuce and a side of their chipotle sauce. So good! Although to me the “carne asada” doesn’t taste like it, from my prior experience before going vegan it tastes more like a combination of adobada and al pastor. Either way extremely flavorful and would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in trying vegan food or just looking for a good recommendation.

It was nice to go to a fast food restaurant that was completely vegan. The bacon cheeseburger was excellent, and south of the border are for those who like a little bit of a kick. There is an outside patio to sit which is cozy.

This place is dreamy treat for vegans and fans of vegan cuisine. Kombucha on tap, some fabulous raw items (tacos and burger served in cabbage-leaf bun-wrap and all the comfort foods. Chili is a zesty, robust, hearty. Customizable for additional dietary restrictions. Innovative, bursting with delicious flavor and superfood goodness. Lovely, roomy and relaxing patio.
