Bad for vegan breakfasts

I order the only cooked vegan breakfast they had, which included scrambled tofu, but what I got was just a salad with a couple of tiny pieces of tofu and some squash. According To the latest survey, they are now more than 3.5 million vegans, more than vegetarians, in the UK! This place has a lot of potential, but every time I go there is a menu related issue.

Pros: nice place, lots of potential

Cons: they don’t bother with vegans at breakfast (or muc

Very nice food, but there are better options

The food here is definitely delicious, but the prices are very high (especially for desserts!) and it doesn't have a huge capacity. I prefer Tibits, which is pretty nearby and has better vegan options (in my opinion).

Pros: Delicious food

Cons: Expensive, Long wait

great food but can get expensive

Have been here a few times and it has been consistently enjoyable. Very nice selection for vegans. As with all of these types of restaurants it can get expensive so be careful with what you pick. It can be tempting just to grab everything as it all looks so good but you may regret it when it comes to paying!

Nice, but not great

We had vegan afternoon tea, and it was good, but not special. Sandwiches were dry and boring, avocado and tomato or beetroot paste. I understand that it's England, but avocado was not even ripe and the bread was dry. The cakes and sweets were lovely, but scones were tiny! Tea was just from a tea bag, again, just tad disappointing.
Service was literally non existent, waiter brought tea and cake stand and then nobody came to check or ask if we want to order anything else until I went to the till to pay. The place was half empty, so it's not like they were super busy. Overall just OK, not a good value for money.

Pros: Sweet part of afternoon tea set

Cons: Service, Value for money , Dry sandwiches

wonderful place but watch the price

This is a stunning place with a superb ambience. Food is delicious too. Just watch out for the weight of your food - it gets expensive pretty quickly!

lovely decor, breakfast portions small

Ethos has a lovely decor and it a nice place for breakfast, especially if you want eggs (so, no, it is not vegan, but has vegan options, too). But the portions are small. My eggs were satisfying, but my partner got the pancakes and though he thought they were tasty, he was definitely left hungry. We also tried a dinner buffet and it was quite good, with a nice selection, but I think the selection at Tibits is better (see my review of Tibits). It's good to vary it, though. As someone who eats very little carbs, I found that I had fewer choices, but I did find what to eat. It is very popular at dinner - make a reservation.

Pros: vegetarian and vegan, lovely decor, nice toilets

Cons: breakfast portion was small

just what I was looking for

Buffet pay-by-weight.
Lots of vegan options! Nice atmosphere and great location. Also possible to take away.
Perfect for my needs during a business trip.

Great environment but expensive

Pay-by-weight, so more expensive than you expect. having said that, the location and ambience are fantastic, and the food is healthy, nourishing, and delicious.

Good selection and well-labeled.

Pros: Food, Selection, Location

Cons: Price

Not as good as I expected

The food was good, but not as good as I was expecting. I was expecting more vegan options, but there was a good sweet potato dahl and hummus. The cupcakes and chocolate bomb were nice but a little dry.

Nice Breakfast

They have a buffet for lunch and dinner, but menu only breakfasts. It is still quite nice, but the vegan options are quite limited. Vegetarians can enjoy a selection of egg based meals. The service was not particularly good when we were here.

Pros: food

Cons: limited choice for vegan breakfast

Not great for vegans

I like the concept of buffet by weight and the food looks great and very colorful but less than half is vegan and it is quite tasteless.

amazing food

A lovely atmosphere for brunch, lunch or dinner with really nice decor and layout. Attentive service with a smile. Absolutely brilliant range of delicious food labelled vegan where necessary. A good sized plate of food approximately £10 and £6 for a glass of wine. Would definitely go back again and again.

Pros: not too busy as off the main road a bit, the pesto linguine!, great music

Cons: hot food could have been kept warmer

Good central location

Nice decor and good central location. Buffet style and you pay by weight so the cost can add up if you get carried away and try a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Be selective! The salads are interesting and generally tasty but I wasn't inspired to try the vegan desserts/cakes on offer which seemed slightly limited compared to other London offerings.

Pros: Location

Cons: Costs can add up

Food was OK, Service was slow and weird.

Booked Afternoon tea for my mum as a mothers day treat, when we arrived Venue was packed which was a good sign. Although it made our table service almost non-existent, we waited for 20 minutes for anyone to come over and when we finally got someone's attention we ordered some cold drinks which really confused he staff then we waited almost another 30 minutes just to get our drinks. Didn't get get our Teas or coffee which came with the afternoon tea until after we finished our food which was strange.

Food was OK, was disappointed by my Vegan options it was a bit bland and the desserts weren't great, especially the tiramisu which had the weirdest texture, also the scones were tiny (but, they tasted great).

They did not charge us for the drinks in the end as the wait was long, which we really appreciated.

I will visit again though as I have been before and really enjoyed the buffet!

Pros: great setting , some great food , not always busy

Cons: table service is slow, need better vegan options and desserts

Okay-ish food, overpriced bill.

Food was alright with a buffet system that charged by weight. The spread was good, different cuisines and styles. However the prices were quite high. The desserts were a disappointment. They charged the moon for a sand cake. And if you don't believe me about the sandcake, spend 4 pounds to try their tiramisand, sorry tiramisu.

Afternoon tea

Vegan afternoon tea. It was okay but nothing to rave about and not that good value compared to other places I have been. A few slices of open bread with e.g. avocado. Cakes were nice but really small. Scones, with jam and cashew cream, were very small and without raisins/currents. Staff were friendly though would have been better if they had come to us partway through to ask if we needed more tea, rather than having to call them ourselves. Other places where I've had vegan tea for a similar price (admittedly outside London) have been far more generous with servings and, in particular, cakes have been very decent-sized slices.

Pros: The fact that vegan afternoon tea is available, Friendly staff

Cons: Not that good value for money, Music was a little intrusive

Great place in central London!

Me and my husband went there for lunch for the 1st time.
The place is really cool and you can help yourself from the buffet, price being made from the weight of your plate.
All the vegan plates are clearly marked!
The food was delicious, lots of salads but unfortunately only 1 hot plate out of maybe 10 vegetarian.
Had the best mushroom mince pie of my entire life!!!!!

Pros: Location, Tasty food, Price

Cons: Deserves more vegan dishes

very expensive buffet

It's a buffet, priced by weight, it's very expensive for what it is. Veggies are cheap, so I don't understand why? I work right next to this place, but would never go again, as you have no clue how much you will pay until you get to the till! Cake was anything but healthy, and tasted strongly of baking soda or powder, not sure. Place is literally empty in the 9am coffee rush, as coffee is rubbish, extremely slowly prepared and a plastic avocado pot is £3.50 before you add any bread and have to toast it yourself too. Very strange operation in my opinion. Loved by bloggers though, and popular for meetings on a company expense account I guess. I think decor is nice.

Great food but rude manager

Our experience started well, and ended on a very sour note. The first negative incident was when it was stressed to us that we are not to forget to get our food weighed, despite having just confirmed that we knew how it worked there. The food was mostly very nice, and the place spacious and clean. We also had a very courteous and friendly French server.

When our meal was finished and we'd settled the bill, we were faced with the same manager at the door who originally greeted us, who then confronted us to confirm that we had actually paid for our meal. I was even still holding my payment card and receipt in my hand, and he had not asked the same of anyone else. He had just wished them a good evening. He showed no interest to ask if we enjoyed our meal, or whether we had a good evening. So I can assume this is because we were dressed more casual than he would have liked.

We have never experienced this sort of questioning and suspicion before at any other restaurant, and we found it insulting and offensive. We certainly won't be returning there again, or recommending it to anyone.

Pros: Wide selection of food, clean environment.

Cons: Rude and disrespectful management.

Food is okay but not a huge amount of choice

This is a pay by weight place. It can get very expensive depending on what you put on your plate. Filling up your plate with boring potato and carrot stuff can quickly rack up the bill with some very heavy food that is quite common. I suggest people pick from the more complex foods (often weighs less too). Eat somewhere else for potato and carrots though.

Pros: Some interesting dishes

Cons: Not great choice, Very expensive if you have a normal sized meal

good choice of vegan food

Lovely restaurant with a buffet style where you weigh your food. Nice decor and good staff. My plate was ~£10 and my friends was just over £8. Everything clearly labelled.

Pros: vegan choices, friendly staff

Cons: can get expensive

Great concept, delicious food

Walked past Ethos on my way home one evening and it looked so inviting.. All the delicious food tempting me in!! I didn't realise it was all vegetarian until the friendly staff member mentioned it as I was looking through the window.. Obviously I was in! It's not all vegan but there are very suitable options, and for a (very up-market) buffet, everything was yum! But, it is a tad expensive.. Expect to pay around £18-20 for a decent plate of food, with drinks and dessert on top!

Pros: Variety, Flavour, Atmosphere

Cons: Pricey (and you don't know what you're paying unti
