Fabulous store - Edit

Large store with a wide selection in all departments, including frozen and packaged. Local products available, such as Eatmore sprouts and Denman Island chocolate. Plenty of vegan items.

Pros: wide selection, local products

Well stocked for small town health food store - Edit

I do most of my shopping here. Despite being in a smaller community it is better stocked than health food stores you would find in bigger towns. The staff are helpful and knowledgable. It's an easy place to pop in for one or two items because they immediately call someone to open up a new till if anyone is waiting at the register. The produce is fresh but the bread is prone to running low sometimes. There is plenty of parking and my one gripe is that the new shopping carts are too small if you are doing a full grocery shop for a family (I know that this change was enforced on them by the fire marshall after an inspection though)

Pros: Broad selection, Good produce, downtown

Cons: Shopping carts too small

The best grocery store in town. - Edit

staff are friendly, product selection is fantastic, and they are great supporters of local farms!

Pros: friendly staff, great selection, produce is always fresh

Cons: could use one or two more staff, store could benefit from better lighting

Fabulous Health Food Store - Edit

Edible Island rocks! There is everything you would expect to see at a health food store with a whole lot more. Local organic produce and products from the Comox Valley and always a smiling face to greet you. Plus tons of raw, vegan and gluten free items. And the selection of chocolate is rad too!

Good little store - Edit

Edible Island is a long established grocery store and has a pretty good productline for it's size. Staff are very friendly and helpful if you have questions.Good organic produce selection and generally very fresh. Bread inventory goes quickly so shortage of specific products can be a problem.
I shop there regularly.

Pros: downtown, helpfull staff, variety

A Classic Natural Foods store! - Edit

After finding about it here on Happy Cow, I made Edible Island one of my first stops when I visited Courtenay. Tucked one street back the main downtown business strip, this store is surprisingly large for a small town, independent natural foods place. It offers a wide selection of organic / natural food staples as well as health and hygiene products. The staff and overall vibe is friendly and down to earth. I'll definitely stop in again whenever I visit the area!

Pros: Good Variety, Friendly people, Central location
