Soooooooo good! Would give 6 stars if possible!

Go there. Just go. We’ve been eating at Duy whenever we are in Houston (seems like 20 years now), and this place is absolutely the tops.

Seemingly endless options for vegan banh mi and vegan pho, with great rolls of various kinds, delicious homemade hot sauce, and a plethora of stuff to take away to reheat and/or cook at home. And EVERYTHING is DELICIOUS. The soup broth is perhaps the best vegan version anywhere.

Houston is without doubt the premier place in the US for Vietnamese food, and there are plenty of great vegan spots (including Quan Yin, which is right around the corner from Duy, and San San Tofu, which is right up the street), and Duy is one of the very best. It’s a true hole-in-the-wall, but don’t let that put you off. Super friendly staff, too!

Pros: Everything is DELICIOUS , So many options , Cheap and friendly

Fresh and tasty

Their soft rolls and vegan banh mi are incredible! Very fresh, crisp and tasty. Lots of fresh herbs are tucked into the rolls and sandwiches. I recommend either picking up the food or dining in. Either way, a great little hole in the wall spot.

Pros: Mostly vegan options

Best place for Vietnamese Vegetarian Soup and Sandwiches

Good place in near Bellaire in Houston, most of the food is vegan but some itemd have dairy. Ask! I love the spicy noodles Bun Hue and the sandwiches. They can prepare food for your party and very affordable. I treated some meat eating friends for my wife's birthday and they loved it! This is a good find for the vegan vegetarian community in Houston. Come on down y'all.

Pros: Lots of vegan options. The place is completely veg

Ok

I've passed DUY a lot because it is right around the corner in the same shopping center as Quan Yin, one of my favorite vegan restaurants. I didn't know what to order at DUY because it wasn't clear from the menu or staff what was vegetarian vs. vegan. I ended up with the lemongrass tofu banh mi--hold the mayo and pate. It came with the pate (hope it was vegan!), and I definitely did not like the flavor or how it made the bread soggy. Other than that, great sandwich for a cheap price. The eating area is small and it's cash only.

Good and inexpensive

My husband and I have been vegan for the last 6 months. We spent the summer exploring restaurants with our two kids, ages 8 and 5. We all enjoyed the vegan bbq pork bahn mi sandwiches. Also, the vegan pho soup and vegan Vietnamese beef stew are really good. The soups were better than the meat filled originals we've enjoyed in the past. The place is not fancy or anything, but has good, inexpensive food. Go for the food, not the atmosphere... or pick it up and take it out.

Pros: Good food, Good value, Friendly staff

Good

The restaurant has a variety of Vietnamese sandwiches, soups, and pre-prepared dishes to go. The staff is friendly and speaks good English, but the place is small and shabby. Furthermore, it‘s not uncommon to eat a meal surrounded by tables that haven‘t been bussed. I recommend it if you want to fill your belly without dropping a lot of money.Updated from previous review on Sunday April 21, 2013

Pros: Price, Sandwiches, Soup

Cons: Shabby, Small
