Nice flaky Baked Barbecue Bun (shao bao)

Amazed by their baked barbecue bun, which is hard to find in SG. The outside is very flaky and crispy, the inside has a strong and good textured veg. char siew flavour. Love it.

Feels a little reheated

Got the big Pau that was cold on the inside but warm on outside, probably reheated. Siew Mai definitely reheated from frozen, taste really bland like bread inside. Best item is baked bbq char siew bun, flaky and not dry. Lo Mai Kai also quite good but feels factory made, overcooked. Price decent for the portion.

Cons: Staff sleeping behind counter near 12 noon, Empty and no service

Excellent vegan Bao Buns

Stumbled across this unsuspecting dim sum and Bao Bun restaurant in the fortune centre. Staff were so friendly and kind, making our bao buns extra hot for us to eat there and then. I visited twice as it was so cheap ($4.50 for two!) and sampled the veggie bun and the mushroom bun. Would highly recommend.

Pros: All Vegan! , Friendly staff! , A million different options to taste test!

Vegetarian Dim Sum with Jazz Café Music and a Latte – A New Combination

I love the décor and vibe of this eatery, located next to Cookie & Coffee Café Bar and opened by the same establishment.

I ordered the Vegetarian Otak (2 pcs for $2.50) and a Vegetarian Lor Mai Kai ($3.60). There’s no service charge or GST. If I had room for a latte, I would definitely have gotten one to complete the experience—an exciting new combination.

The staff is friendly, and the menu pricing is affordable, though the offerings seem to be primarily frozen food items that require simple heating. It’s more suited for a morning breakfast or an afternoon tea session with a cup of coffee.

Yet to try their mini hotpot!

The Cookie & Coffee Café Bar next door looks cool! They serve cakes and ice cream, making it a nice spot for café hopping.
