Ein sehr gemütliches und mit Liebe eingerichtetes Restaurant mit leckeren und ganz bunten Vegetarischen und Veganen Gerichten. Die kommunikative und aufmerksame Bedienung gibt dem Ort den endgültigen Charme! Sehr empfehlenswert.

A good place to eat. - Edit
The second time we ate here I made the mistake of opting for the Lebanese stew… now every time we go I only ever order the Lebanese stew! I’m stuck in a rut an enjoying every minute of it.
Read moreThe restaurant seems to be growing in popularity and booking rather than turning up is perhaps the best option.
The surroundings are very pleasant, with lots of art produced by the owner who is also very friendly.

Nice cafe with a lot of vegan options. I had Flemish stew with seitan. Good food, but long waiting time (much longer than the waiter said when we ordered).

Wasn’t blown away - Edit
It’s a little bit what you expect from a veggie place.
Read moreThere’s definitely good options but I wasn’t blown away by the food... The place itself though (atmosphere, staff) is awesome. Super friendly and a nice, welcoming setting.
A good option in Bruges.
Pros: Friendliest staff, Really nice atmosphere, Decent, big vegan dishes (options)
Cons: Food was ok, Not fully vegan

Lovely veggie & vegan restaurant - Edit
Lovely place for a Mela any time of day. I visited for an evening meal on my last night in Bruges, and couldn't have been any more pleasant. They even had a vegan version of a local Flemish dish on the menu!

Lovely, welcoming & tasty - Edit
Veggie restaurant with several clearly marked vegan options (and all their wine is vegan too!) We had the Flemish stew with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. We didn't have room for pudding but there were several tasty looking cakes. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Great food - Edit
Nice clean fully vegetarian restaurant with plenty vegan options. It gets very busy though, make sure you book ahead!
Read moreThe owner is quite an eccentric character who clearly puts a lot of care and effort into making quality food.
Ordered Stoofvlees, a very typical Flemish beef stew that's usually served up with fries but replaced with sweet potato fries in this instance and also served with a salad.
The result was a delicious (and healthier) vegan adaptation of a very traditional Belgian dish. You'd be hard pressed to find something like this anywhere in Belgium, let alone Bruges.
I like to try local foods when I travel, but they're often not vegan, so I was pleasantly surprised! Also had other tasty looking options that I'd love to try.

Fantastic lunch! - Edit
It’s kind of tucked away but worth the effort to find it. I had a curry did that was delicious. We just walked in around noon and we were seated right away. While we were eating a woman popped in to see if she could make a dinner reservation and she was told they were booked for the night. This was on a Wednesday so if you have your heart set on coming here for dinner I would suggest making a reservation.

Charming restaurant with the owner’s original artwork on the walls. For us an Indonesian dish and a terrific veggie curry were highlights, all vegan & delicious. Nicest meal we had in our three days in Belgium. Not too salty nor too much oil. Highest recommendation.

Exceptional cafe with amazing home-made dishes - Edit
I read about the De Plaats before my trip to Bruges and decided to have lunch exactly there. I was lucky to come to the cafe 30 minutes earlier the kitchen would be closed. The menu is not very big but the dishes are rather various and it was a bit difficult to make a choice as I wanted to try almost everything. They serve both vegan and vegetarian options, and the owner (she joked that she has 10 hands and 11 heads as she did everything there on her own) described what they had and helped me make a choice. I ordered the dish of the day which basically consisted of two dishes: a salad with grapes and blueberries and quinoa with vegetables and cashew. They both were mouthwatering and looked very appetizing. The portion was of a good size so I was full after it, however, I decided to try their falafels too. But it was after 2 pm so the kitchen was closed (they closed it till 6 pm to prepare the dishes for the evening so check their working hours in advance because they do not work the whole day, which is typical for Belgium in general). The lady worried whether I was full, I said yes, but she said that she had the last chocolate cookie and gave it to me for free.

Nice place and good food. - Edit
We were two days at Brugge and we phoned for reservation for this restaurant. The lady was very friendly and it was possible to come around six. The place (de Plaats) is a very nice and clean restaurant. They had veggie and vega options. I took the lasagna and my friend the Curry dish. Both dishes were tasty and well cooked. We loved it. The portions were a little bit smal and because of that it was a little expensive. But we had a lovely evening and when we are in Brugge again we certainly go back.

Liked the service, restaurant and food - Edit
I booked via email two weeks before but didn't get a reply so had to call. They had my booking and said they had replied. Must have gone to spam. When I arrived there was a little bowl of. Mini hiya crackers on the table, delicious. The chardonnay was delicious 3 euro a glass. The dish of the day wasn't vegan and I don't eat pasta so all the vegan options were at the top of the price range 15-17 euros. I opted for two starters in the end, salad plate (6), was large and lovely and the falafel (5) mini, fresh tasty and cooked to perfection. Lovely atmosphere and liked the art work.

Zeer lekker - Edit
De Plaats, een icoon in Brugge, voor mij althans. Dit was het restaurant waar ik in mijn schooljaren zo nu en dan eens ging lunchen. De kwaliteit bij Frow en Piet is ongeevenaard lekker. Doe zo voort, we komen zeker terug.

Culinairy not so fancy - Edit
Been here twice so far. Culinary a bit underwhelming (store bought burgers/falafels), not that much variation.
Read moreNo real appetizers, no vegan desserts.
Nice vintage decor, although uncomfortable school like wooden chairs. Stuffed bird on wall is strange (to say the least) for a vegetarian restaurant.
It seems more like a place for a quick bite on a weekday lunch break, than a fancy dinner.
Service is very friendly and welcoming, but indeed, as other have noted, a bit disorganised.
Pros: vegan options clearly indicated, friendly
Cons: culinairy underwhelming, no vegan appetizers nor desserts
