Best food I’ve had in Hanoi

The food here is what I imagine the most authentic vegan version of the smaller non vegan places on the street to be. Amazing fresh food at such a cheap price, the food is so good I always forget to take pictures cause I’ve already eaten it!

Pros: Amazing food, Authentic, Cheap

So delicious and so cheap

We both had the bun rieu and it was delicious! The tomato broth was so refreshing and a nice change from pho. I think there were three different kinds of tofu in the bowl which we enjoyed a lot. It's quite easy to get to from Chua Tran Quoc pagoda and it was very cheap as it's a bit further from the old quarter. The bun rieu was only 25,000 dong, so less than £1.

Pros: Great value, Refreshing broth in the bun rieu

Went here for dinner and it was so much better than expected! I ordered the „traditional“ Pho and it was so good. I had to try the springrolls too😄will be back and can only highly recommend this hidden gem ✨✨

Cheap and tasty

The food was great value for the price. I enjoyed the pho. Came for a rice porridge with mushrooms for breakfast, and really enjoyed the first few mouthfuls, but about halfway through the bowl I found it difficult to keep eating even though I wasn't full, as the texture was too unvaried and slightly gluggy

Pros: Very cheap

Best Pho of my life

This place is a hidden gem! It has the best Pho
I have tried Pho in Vietnam, all over Europe and Canada but this place is the best! Honestly you have got to try this flavourful soup for only 25.000 I asked for no noodles (low carb) and more veggies. Unfortunately I literally had two small pieces of meat (vegan meat) inside. I asked for more and got it right away. They wanted to charge me a lot extra for that. Pho could have been more hot
Flavour great. More vegan meat appreciated
Vegan spring rolls were great amount. A bit oily but not as bad as in other places. 30.000 for springrolls
Dipping sauce for spring rolls is incredible.
Very good English speaking.
It looks on the picture of the menu like there comes extra vegan meat with it but it’s just the soup
Delicious and cheap spot

Pros: Fully vegan, Best pho of my life

Cons: Not enough plant based meat

Fantastic food

The noodle soups were delicious and the sausage was amazing. I stayed in the homestay upstairs, and it was a great location, not as chaotic as the old quarter

Delicious, humble and satisfying.

Delicious variety in the Com Chay - rice, pickles, steamed and stir fried vegetables, tofu in tomato and a spring roll. All delicious for 30,000 VND.
The Bun Bo Huê was a little lack lustre, but still ok.
A quaint small space. Busy for lunch.
Fast customer turnover, and food service.

Pros: Variety on the Com Chay plate., Great prices., Friendly staff.

Cons: No fresh herbs / lemon for soup., Soup toppings absent.

Amazing Vegan Pho

Lovely little place with Vietnamese vegan versions of street food dishes. Finally had a Pho noodle soup and loved it! Also the bun soup was delicious. Very cheap, very friendly and a very relaxing atmosphere. The menu is both in Vietnamese and in English. Staff speaks English as well.

Pros: Fully vegan, Delicious Vietnamese classics, Cheap & friendly

My go to for vegan pho! The staff are friendly and speak enough English to assist those who don’t speak Vietnamese, prices are reasonable, and it’s in such a convenient area!

Great food

I come here often, some of the best vegan food in hanoi. not a very large menu but they dont need it. They have a variety of drinks and food. My favourites are their vegan fried sausages, vegan bun rieu and fried nems.
Very affordable cheap food. Less than 100k for a meal of two people!

Pros: friendly staff, Great food

Charming "Hole in the Wall" Style Eatery

This spot specializes in their vegan pho, which is why I remember eating here on rainy days or chilly days, when eating soup is the best! I noticed this eatery is a popular one among expats and English-speaking travelers. One likely reason is that the staff member who takes orders (the man) is fluent in English, which facilitates communication, and talks often to the customers.

I regularly bought home 1 kilo of their vegan sausage, made with mushrooms. I was happy with my purchase each time.

Had the pho, fried spring rolls and pineapple juice. It was nice.
Just be aware that not all items are on the menu, look at the pictures on the side of the walls instead but even then what you get can vary a bit based on what you say when ordering e.g. spring rolls 😅

Pros: Nice people, English spoken, prices okay

Cons: Menu not very clear go by pictures
