I went back in December 2025 and am leaving a late review, but everything was really superb when I went. Unique menu items, at least for me. Highly recommended. Be wary, though...as I recall the server initially had a bit of a mix up between vegan and vegetarian ingredients when I had questions about the menu. There's also vegan items mixed in throughout the menu, outside of the pages dedicated to vegetarian/vegan items. Be sure you check to know what's in your food order; the server was very friendly and happy to discuss the menu.

...so I went here and I don't regret it! The flavor of the dumplings was really like nothing I'd ever had before, and they were so crunchy! The yuca frita was not the best I've ever had, but it was good. Didn't understand the sauce thing it came with though.

Overall, I've been convinced to check out Peruvian cooking, but because of the awkward service idk if it gets the full honors a non veg restaurant can.

The owner and his wife were super friendly and knew what dishes to recommend for vegans. We had a tofu dish, wantons, and another dish that had carrots and fried yucca. Dishes were a little on the heavy side (fried and a lot of sauce) but flavorful.

Das Essen war super! Mit Abstand das beste Essen, was ich in Costa Rica und generell seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. Es war wirklich alles daran einfach perfekt! Der Service war auch super und freundlich. Die Mitarbeiter wissen mit veganen Optionen umzugehen.

This is heaven for vegans and non vegans. The hosts are the cutest family and he made the wantan dough fresh and vegan for me to be able to share with my boyfriend. And the Yucca and ceviche is delicious too! He said it's the best vegan food he had so far.

A welcome change from the usual rice and beans options in Costa Rica. Small family restaurant, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff, not soooo many vegan options but those they have are delicious. Their tofu saltado is to die for. Absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area!

This is a lovely family run restaurant, we were greeted by the son and were really taken care of. As soon as we asked for vegan options they showed us exactly what we could order. The food was lovely and exactly what we needed. It was hearty and filled with lots of lovely vegetables and tofu. We would highly recommend it

My wife and I went here and absolutely loved the dishes we got. We got the Tofu Saltado and Vegan Wantans. Everything was great. Fusion of flavors that we had never experienced. Owner was extremely kind and welcoming as well. Highly recommend.

There's plenty of vegan options. Most of them can be seen in the photo's posted on happycow. They are very tasty (chinese and peruvian fusion). The owner is a cool guy, very friendly and helpful, which makes this dinner so much more pleasant! Would recommend if in Fortuna 👌

The owner and his young son were very friendly and welcoming. The owner was eager to tell us about the food options available with some nice information about the Peruvian influences as well as the Chinese-Peruvian influence of the dishes on the menu. There was a really good selection of vegan options which all sounded great. The best way to eat the food is to choose several dishes and share! We settled on a starter of Yuquitas con quinoa (Fried cassava topped with quinoa, tomato, onion and spinach) which was absolutely amazing, a mouth bomb of flavour! For mains we opted for the Tofu Saltado and the Kam lu wantan (stuffed wonton with vegetable curry). Again, super tasty and would highly recommend! If you visit La Fortuna, make this food spot a must visit!!

The food here is remarkable. There seems to be a lot of Peruvian influence in the food scene in La Fortuna, and this was definitely the best of everything I tried.

Aji amarillo peruano es riquisimo! - Edit
I went here by myself as the rest of my group was going somewhere I didn’t fancy, and it was a great decision. Friendly people and some cool cartoony art on the walls. I chose tofu and veg, which had a Peruvian aji amarillo flavour which I’d not had before but really made the dish. It came with rice and potatoes.

The food was really delicious! There were 3 or 4 vegan options (the Wan tans are not vegan as the batter contains eggs). We had the yuca fries with quinoa for starter and then the tofu saltado and both were delicious, especially the yuca fries. The service is very slow but pura vida, come with time and relax! 🤗
