Not great for vegans

I only went to this place because a vegetarian friend who was visiting from out of town picked it. It was super expensive for what it was, but maybe I ordered the wrong stuff. They also didn't demarcate their menu items clearly to indicate which ones were ovo-/lacto-vegetarian or vegan. The dairy, egg, and leaf (for vegan) icons are used inconsistently. In fact, even though I confirmed with the waitstaff that the XO sauce Arborio rice fried rice (XO醬義米炒飯) dish was vegan, it came out with visible bits of fried egg in it. So they sent it back for me and recommended the classic Chinese toon fried rice (經典香椿炒飯), which was vegan. Both were NT$300, which was really steep for the portion size (super small). I mean, yeah, they did put a nice variety items in there (e.g., roasted yellow soy beans, black soy beans, green beans), but I was definitely not satiated after that. My friend ordered a mushroom risotto and upgraded to a set meal (comes with a salad, an appetizer of marinated tomatoes, and a choice of soup), and because I wanted to try their tea, she let me have her NT$70 set menu upgrade to get a pot of their Red Jade Black Tea, which came with an ovo-lacto cookie that I gave to her.

Overall, I was quite unhappy with this place and would give it one star if I could. Never coming back here.

Cons: not vegan-friendly, small portions, really expensive
