Fantastic

This is the best vegetarian restaurant in the city. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Friendly staff and many vegan option. They also do takeout. You can order to your preference on the iPad, ie less salt, less msg, less oil etc. Alcohol also available (try the goji on the counter where you pay) Also try the fake meats. They are delicious!

Pros: Great food, Great service, Lovely atmosphere/stylish

Cons: Closes at 8:30pm

A veg place among a city of meat lovers

Not the best restaurant I have been to, but does the job. Good mock meats and the iPad menu has pictures which simplifies ordering. Get the steamed buns! Tasty and soft.

Cons: Loud, Smells like incense

Best Vegan Food and Service in Wuhan

I have been visiting this restaurant for over a year now, and the standards are constantly excellent. Delicious food and great Goji wine! Staff are wonderful and super friendly. I would recommend the fake duck, sweet and sour chicken with pineapple, beef in pepper sauce and the greens. Also ask for some radish. Go for the most expensive Goji wine, its strong and delicious!
The temple next door is also worth a visit. Super peaceful with lots of young Taoists hanging out. Super cool.
Changchun Guan is stand out and one of my favorite places to eat in China, let alone Wuhan. Options in this city are limited.

Pros: Delicious Food, Fair price, Booze

Cons: Walk from Metro, Closes at 8:30PM

Probably the best in Wuhan

For such a large and increasingly cosmopolitan city, Wuhan has surprisingly few veg options. This is probably the best of them, but like many other Chinese veg places, they dont use onion or garlic, and reduce the salt a lot. Great if you're a strict Buddhist, but boring for almost everyone else.

Pros: probably the best in wuhan

Cons: no onion or garlic, low salt

Good food, good prices

Very decent menu with good variety of dishes. You need to pick the right combinations for a tasty meal. Avoid the oily 'curry-like' dishes. The fried stuff is generally good. Would definitely return for more meals.

They have a section that sells mock meat and other crispies.
A meal for 4 people was 160 RMB.

Pros: Good variety, warm ambience, decently priced.

Cons: some of the dishes are quite oily.

Excellent food and nice atmosphere

This large, popular, well-established restaurant is attached to the Taoist temple. The atmosphere is pleasant, refined and the workers are friendly. The food is top-quality and delicious. I went a few times while I was visiting Wuhan. In the morning I had a tasty bowl of noodles, veggies and mushrooms. When I went at lunch time I tried a number of dishes including a thick soup, a platter of mock-meats and various interesting veggie dishes. Prices were quite reasonable, especially for excellent food in a more upmarket setting. The workers speak a little English and the menu has pictures. The menu is at least 90 percent vegan.

Pros: Great food, Good value, Friendly workers

ChangchunGuan Taoism Temple, Wuhan, China

I've been to this restaurant two times already. The atmosphere is quite nice because the restaurant is actually located inside the taoist temple in Wuhan.

I've ordered the Wuxiang Niu rou, a dish with mushroom and the veggan dumplings.

For three people the price should be aroung 80 yuan.

If you are a vegetarian and you live or travel in Wuhan, I higly recommend you to have a look especially because it's almost impossible to find any other places to eat vegetarian food in the city.

Pros: good food, good atmosphere, traditionnal

Cons: smokers
