Ok-ish options in a town with not a lot of options - Edit
I would not go there if there would be much more options otherwise in Piran. However, they had a sign which specifically advertised vegan pizza so we went there twice during a two week stay as it was a refreshing change from the other really only other option in Piran.
Read moreThey offer two vegan pizzas with the funny names “Vegan” and “Black Vegan”😄The vegan pizza is just a one with vegetables and without any vegan cheese. The black vegan is the same but with black dough. They are much more expensive than the rest of the pizzas. I have no size comparison but it seems they are unreasonably more expensive than the non-vegan pizzas that will contain cheese so leaving something out makes them more expensive…? The black vegan pizza was burnt which was not nice. But the two pizza options (if not burnt) are actually good even without vegan cheese.
The Tapas (Vege) are also vegan but not marked in the menu. But the waitress could give us that info. It was just antipasti with toasted bread but was actually good.

Vegan tapas plate & vegan pizza - Edit
Dried tomatos, olives, freshly toasted bread, peppers and artichokes ♡
Read moreAlso the vegan pizza is very good. There's no need for vegan cheese on the pizza because it's perfect the way it is😄I think the dough is made with whole grain flour - love it.

Tasty toast with coffee for breakfast - Edit
Had some really tasty toast with vegan spread and olives for breakfast yesterday morning and was informed by a very friendly and helpful waitress that this small, centrally located restaurant also served vegan pizza and vegan tapas for lunch later in the day. This restaurant needs supporting, as there are not yet many establishments offering vegan options in Piran.

nice lunch! - Edit
I enjoyed the vegan pizza! perfect for lunch but I wouldn’t say it was “wow” especially not for the price. It was just a pizza with vegetables and no (vegan) cheese (which the waitress made clear)

vegan cheese? - Edit
I ordered the vegan pizza and am not really sure what to think. It had cheese on it which tasted and looked to me very like dairy cheese so I asked the waiter about it and she said that it was vegan cheese that the owner gets from a market somewhere in Italy... 'Vegan pizza' is specifically stated on the menu but in other reviews I see that people were given a cheeseless pizza. I am not convinced that the waiter and/or chef actually knows what vegan means?? Or perhaps it was an exceptional vegan cheese?? Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Interesting but not really good - Edit
The dough of the pizza was black, I thought it was burnt, but the waiter told me they add carbon to it and showed me other doughs to prove it's true. The waiter was nice and funny but the pizza wasn't good, it was dry. I wouldn't go there again.

Small, cheeseless pizza - Edit
We ordered the 'vegan pizza' which is just a vegetable pizza without cheese. Whether you could call this a vegan option is debatable. You would expect more from a place that has 'Go Vegan' written on their outdoor sign.
Read moreThe pizza itself was good but nothing special. It was also extremely small for the price. Don't go there with an empty stomach.
Pros: They advertise their vegan pizza
Cons: Expensive, Small portion

Acceptable pizza - Edit
Searching for a place to eat vegan lunch we found this place. After a few minutes after sitting down, we were greeted by a seemingly confused waitress. even when speaking in slovene she seemed confused & reluctant, although polite. There was no food menu other than the sign at the street indicating vegan pizza. We ordered olives as a starter, a big mixed salad and one pizza as main. The food arrived within 10 min. First the salad, then the pizza, then the olives. No bread was served with the salad. The portions were small, esp. for the price. A small try of oils, cheap vinegar, salt and pepper was brought too, and helped elevate the taste of the food.

Misleading, almost no vegan options - Edit
The place advertises their “vegan pizza” with a big sign in front, but the pizza has no vegan cheese and the toppings are very limited. There is no menu so you can’t really pick the toppings you want unless you go the counter to see what they have available.
Read moreThe pizza is square shaped and made in “Neapolitan style” and that is also supposedly the reason why there is no vegan cheese available, because of the licencing the owner is not allowed to switch dairy cheese with vegan cheese because it melts differently.
The pizza (the simplest one) cost 10€.
The crust was above average but the toppings were bland, I think it was red pepper, olives and something else. And it cost the same as I usually pay for a pizza that has vegan cheese and plenty of veggies.

Not vegan-friendly - Edit
We came because of their sign that said "vegan". We got no food menu, only one for drinks, and when we asked about food our waitress got confused (she was friendly though). She then offered pizza, I asked for the vegan vegetable pizza without mushrooms and got a pizza with mushrooms and paprika as the only vegetable. No cheese replacement or anything other the mushrooms and paprika.
Read moreI personally don't consider this vegan-friendly, as ANY place can offer you a dish where they leave out half of the ingredients. Yes it's vegan, but vegan-friendly to me means either substitutes for the non-vegan ingredients or offering a dish specially designed for people on a plant based diet.
On top of that the pizza, which was rather small, was expensive (10,50€).
That's why this place only gets 1 ⭐ from me, sadly.
Pros: Friendly waitress
Cons: NOT vegan-friendly, Expensive, Confused staff/no menu

Neapolitan pizza - Edit
Delicious neapolitan pizza with fresh vegetables (no cheese) and very friendly staff. Although we were missing some seasoning and there were very little options it was a nice experience.
