Good main dishes 3.5*** - Edit
We really enjoyed the mezze that we got from here. The loaded fries were also good. The chocolate cake tasted nice but it was definitely aimed at those with a very sweet tooth.
Read moreOur only negative is that we asked for our child's babychino to be made with oat milk and unfortunately it came with cow milk whichI discovered when testing the temperature. It was a simple mistake and they were busy so we didn't take it back but it's good that she or I didn't have an allergy.

Lovely wholesome cafe - Edit
Tried the Texas fries and the breakfast hash on two separate occasions. Breakfast was especially yummy but both options were different than the bog standard offerings normally small cafes do. Both tasted lovely and the staff were so friendly. Also the homemade bread was gorgeous!

Great vegan lunch options - Edit
A great place to stop for a vegan lunch in Hawes. Several clearly marked vegan options. Plant milk available. Beetroot hummus and spiced chickpea open sandwich was delicious.

Lovely lunch - Edit
We visited in October 2023 and were very impressed. They have a few vegan options on the menu but two of us shared the 'Garden Platter' which felt like very good value at £16. It included 'sausage' roll (with a vegetable based filling rather than fake meat), pakoras, beetroot houmous, fresh bread (with vegan spread), a quinoa & chickpea salad, slaw and mixed salad. It was definitely big enough for two to share. They had a few vegan cakes available when we visited but we were too full to try these (and that hardly ever happens!).
Read moreThe service was friendly, efficient and pretty quick so a good experience overall.
We visited on a Monday (the Happy Cow listing shows them closed on a Monday) and the sign on their door said they are open Saturday to Thursday and closed on Fridays. I guess this could change over time but that was the case in October 2023.

Lovely vegan sharing platter - Edit
It can be difficult to find vegan options in the Yorkshire Dales so it was nice to see some nice options at this cafe. We opted for the vegan sharing platter and some chips on the side and it was very nice! Definitely didn't need the chips as well as it was filling.
Read moreOat milk available for coffees and they said that the hot chocolate mix was vegan too so I could have that with oat milk.
Saw a vegan chocolate cake on the counter that I thought I would have for pudding but I was too full!
Pros: Nice sharing platter, Non-dairy milks

Fresh & tasty - Edit
Lovely cafe, a few vegan options - I love a mixed salad bowl when I'm out as I'm too lazy to make more than one salad at home, and 3 of the 4 were vegan. Really tasty spinach pakoras on top. Quite fancied the vegan sharer board but didn't think the toddler would pull her weight! We took a slice of the vegan ginger cake with us to eat at the park after. Am sure we'll be back.

Lovely lunch - Edit
I had a very impressive salad bowl (curried rice, butter beans, potato salad, etc.) which was all vegan and super filling (there are a few other vegan lunch options as well). Enjoyed a coffee with oat milk and there are a few vegan cakes which look delicious. It’s also dog friendly with free WiFi. Vegan food can be hard to come by in these parts so would definitely recommend this lovely cafe. I noticed several people coming in asking about vegan options 👍👍👍. Staff are all really friendly too. Also has a really clean loo with baby changing facilities.

Nice café - Edit
Whilst stopping in Hawes for a quick coffee found this place. We decided to go in as the menu outside had a few vegan main meal options but we had eaten early in so just wanted a drink really. Once at the counter we noticed several vegan cakes including carrot and also a lemon drizzle so we ordered our drinks and a slice of each. Both cakes were divine and the tea was good, served with soya or almond milk, whilst the decaffeinated coffee was simply superb.
Read moreObviously we cannot comment upon the wider food but the cakes we tried were really superb. The waitress told us that they were all made upon the premises and that the chef was vegan so I would expect other offerings to be of a similar excellent standard.
Pros: Vegan chef , Good choice of vegan cakes, Some vegan meal options
