Vegan cafe set hidden in a garden courtyard and offers two floors of seating. Serves breakfast and lunch dishes and Sunday roast. Sample menu items include pie and mash, burger with cheez, oreo sundae, seitan ribs, mushroom pasta ragout, cookie and toffee pudding. Beverages include vegan wines, juice, ginger lemonade, and coffee. Est. 2015 and became all-vegan in 2017. Follow the reservations tab on the website to make a booking. Reported closed June 2024.

One of the most amazing vegan places i know - Edit
I have been vegan for 7 years and never came across anything quite like this. Not only is the food absolutely amazing, serving traditional dishes where you don't miss the meat and dairy, they are also a social enterprise, providing training and work opportunities to people that are challenged in different ways. Friendly staff. Very cosy environment. The pay it forward coffees are also an amazing concept. Way to go, folks!

Love love love everything about this place and cannot believe it has taken us so long to visit. The building is beautiful and quirky, it is a social enterprise, the people working there are lovely, and the food is great.
Read moreBetween us we had some crispy coconut tempeh with peanut and cucumber salsa, the cheeseboard, the shiitake shawarma, the Van Gogh burger and fries, aubergine parmigiana, focaccia, and stracciatella ice-creams. The parmigiana was a star dish for me, and the only dish that offered any disappointment was the cheeseboard which was a little meagre, and had one coconut based cheese (Applewood) which for me does not hold up to the nut based varieties when eaten cold. This is a minor point though - the food was generally wonderful and the food and wine prices were very reasonable for the high quality that is offered.
The breakfasts and Sunday roast dinners here also sound amazing and we cannot wait to come back.

Really pretty cafe! We had the sunday roast and it was lovely. Decent size portion and reasonably priced. Really keen to go back and try the Saturday brunch menu. Also such a lovely community initiative.

Isn’t it lovely when you experiment with a new restaurant, try things you wouldn’t normally try, and at the end of the meal realise that you’ve just had one heck of an amazing experience. SERIOUSLY delicious food. Plus I love this Café’s environmental and social ethic. I’d give Café Van Gogh six stars if I could. Probably more.

EXCELLENT oat milk cappuccinos!!! They use the best oat milk on Earth but also offer other plant milk alternatives, such as soy. I really love everything about the mission of this non-profit vegan restaurant. Can’t wait to bring my friends here. 🌱
