Lovely space, okay food - Edit
I really wish the food here was a bit better because I love everything else about it!
Read moreI got the full English (average), a coffee (not great), the sticky ribs (bit boring), and the sticky toffee pudding (amazing). A friend got the mac n cheese which was really nice.
The staff are so friendly and accommodating - to the point where the chef offered to remake the beans for me if I found them too sweet. The room upstairs is magical, with a painted starry sky ceiling and lots of little nooks and crannies to sit in.
The pasta lunch special always looks really good on instagram - and considering the mac n cheese was very good, maybe this is a good time to come.
I would come back here if I was in the area - purely on the basis of how nice these people are, and to give them another shot by trying something different (or eating lots of pudding), but I wouldn't go out of my way if not.
Pros: Staff, Ambience, Sticky toffee pudding
Cons: Taste, Price to quality ratio, Location

Lovely cafe with lovely food - Edit
Popped in there for lunch on a day off as I hadn't been before. The cafe is beautifully set out with a lovely interior. It was quiet as it was mid week and I was allowed to sit their and enjoy the space at my leisure. I had the jerk tofu served with rice and salad as this was the gluten free option. It was absolutely delicious.

Lovely place with a good selection. - Edit
Visited this place on my way through to Brixton. Ordered an Americano with Oat Milk, very strong taste (I loved it). Unfortunately, as the last review states, there's only one front of house that also makes the coffees so it can be a little slow.
Read moreOrdered the sticky Seitan ribs with potato and pickled onion salad and bacon butter sweetcorn. Salad and sweetcorn was incredible, wasn't so keen on the Seitan. The texture was fine but the taste wasn't so on point.
Lovely atmosphere though, definitely recommend to friends!
Pros: 100% Vegan, Friendly staff, great selection of foo
Cons: Front of house definitely a little overworked!

Yummy Sunday roast - Edit
We had a delicious meal here. I understand the menu changes depending on the day of the week. We went on a Sunday and had the roast. P.S. It's on the number 3 bus route.

Lovely food in a lovely location - Edit
I really enjoyed my visit to Cafe van Gogh. The menu is a nice blend between traditional dishes (e.g. mushroom wellington, lentil bolognese pasta, burgers) and exciting new dishes reflecting the current London vegan eating scene (e.g. seitan sticky ribs, jackfruit stuffed chapatis). The desserts were very good too.
Read moreThe restaurant is set in an old church, and is lovely and quaint, with lots of nods to van Gogh who used to live just round the corner (including a version of the Starry Night painted on the ceiling of the mezzanine).
We paid around £30 for a very filling meal for two (we brought our own wine).
Highly recommended. Independent vegan restaurants like this thoroughly deserve our custom.
Pros: Delicious food, Good value for money, Beautiful venue

Great food, and easy to get to! - Edit
I've been to Cafe Van Gogh for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and each visit has been outstanding.
Read moreLondon is becoming increasingly vegan-friendly, and Steve and his team at CVG are a big part of that transformation.
CVG's creations are at once familiar and comforting, while stretching the possibilities of everyday ingredients - the mac & cheeze I had last week was amazing, as was the golden latte I sampled.
Cafe Van Gogh, conveniently located near Oval and Brixton tube stations, is also a social enterprise. While you fill your belly with vegan goodness, you're also supporting your London neighbours with on-the-job training and skill development.
And, lest I forget, CVG is dog-friendly, so whether you're booking a sit-down dinner or popping in for a coffee, Cafe Van Gogh is a great choice for vegans and pre-vegans in London.

homely 5 star food bursting with flavour - Edit
This quaint vegan restaurant situated in a beautiful courtyard is my number 1 vegan go to. Community orientated with a really friendly atmosphere. There is a range of different dishes served so you will never be short of options and there is always good weekend and brunch deals on. If you are ever in SW9 (or not) you should definitely give it a visit

A 5 starry starry meal - Edit
Lovely little restaurant on the Brixton road. Almost entirely vegan with a changing menu of the day. FM has tried four dishes so far, plus puddings, and they've all been pretty amazing. Also quick service and good decor.

I enjoyed it! - Edit
The menu was completely vegan on the day I visited. I ordered the plantain dish with a side of mac and no cheese, which was all very good. My only complaint would be that I wish the dish came with more of the "main" component rather than half of the plate being salad and pasta salad. Everything on the plate was still delicious, but there were a lot of sides, some of which were even larger than the main. My husband ordered the beetroot burger, which he didn't enjoy (take this with a grain of salt, sometimes he can be a picky eater). The staff was really friendly and chatted with us a little bit about where we're from and the area. They wished us a safe journey. Overall, I'd come back if in the area.
