I don’t know why this place is on here. Twice I went here and both times there were no vegan options. All their breads and wraps have egg or milk in them. They are also very unsure of what vegan is.
The Boro Bean is an amazing place to bring your laptop and get some work done during the week. The atmosphere is welcoming and there's free wifi and plenty of tables.
The best part of the Boro Bean is how kid-friendly the environment is. There is a whole back porch with train tracks and toys for kids to play with while the grown-ups relax at a table while keeping an eye on their kids. When the weather isn't good enough to be outside, there's also an entire bookshelf with games, books, and toys for kids to play with indoors.
If you're a vegetarian, this is a super great place for breakfast or lunch. If you're a vegan, it can be a bit hit or miss. There is always a vegetarian option for the daily soup, but it is not always vegan. Sometimes you are charged extra for a splash of soy milk in your coffee, sometimes you are not.
The breakfast menu is pretty much all eggs -- so if you are a vegetarian, you're in good shape. Vegans will struggle to find a good breakfast option here, though lunch is easier.
Even with the limited food options for vegans, it's still a great spot to have a coffee while your kids play -- or to get some work done!
Very accommodating if you know where to look on the menu! - Edit
Really delicious salad, fresh crunchy leaves. Veggie wrap can be vegan with no cheese, and actually really flavorful with what tastes like freshly made hummus, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, cabbage and shredded carrots. Burrito pretty good if you take out the cheese and sour cream (wish they had a vegan cheese option). Always when I go they have at least 1 vegan soup and avocado toast with mint and scallions if you ask for no feta (I always ask for no butter because I heard they butter the toast usually). They have soy milk for coffee drinks. All and all, very good solid soups, salads, wraps, and a super cozy neighborhood place to check out. I go regularly and never have had a problem. One of the cash register people are vegan and she’s helped me out a few times with coming up with a great sandwich.
One of my all time favorites. Offers non dairy milk in their amazing beverages. Not everything is vegan, but they will modify anything for you. The veggie wrap is a must try!
