If you're vegan, avoid this place! - Edit
They gave me misleading information. The section of the menu marked as vegetarian/vegan does not have an accurate list of ingredients. I specifically asked them about the vegan options and they brought a kofte that has eggs in it!!!! I do not recommend this place at all

Delicious food in a lovely terraced restaurant - Edit
Update (4*): We went back three years later (2025) and Blue Terrace has moved across the road and a bit further up. Confusingly it has been replaced in its original location by a different restaurant called Sea&Blue Terrace, but the owner, chef etc have moved over with Blue Terrace so Sea&Blue is not the same place.

For starters we got Babaganuş and hummus, with chips (their bread isn’t vegan). Both dishes were very tasty with lovely rich flavours, and the hummus was very creamy. The chips were also crunchy and fluffy.
For mains we got Imam Bayildi and Vegetable Meatballs Sebze Köfte. The Imam Bayildi was lovely and rich, really delicious. The meatballs were a little dry but came with sweet chilli sauce and tomato salsa and had a really tasty, meaty flavour. It also came with chips and a really tasty veg mix.
They also brought out a big fruit platter to finish.
Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout and I felt like they did understand what vegan meant and seemed confident when telling us what was and wasn’t vegan.
There was also a real buzz in the restaurant and it was a really fun environment!
Original (3.5*): Blue is a restaurant with outdoor terraces with great views and a lovely ambience. The roof terrace was closed when we visited as the tourist season hadn't started yet, but their first floor terrace was still open, and it was really lovely. As with most of the other restaurants I've been to in Kalkan, vegan options aren't labelled on the menu, but the staff were very willing to double check what was vegan and ensure our needs were met. For our starters we went for stuffed green pepper and hummus, with a side of chips. The pepper was tasty, although I think I would've preferred it if it was served hot (it was a cold starter). The chips were also really tasty and as always in Kalkan the humus was really delicious. They also brought us out a special vegan bread, which was nice. For our main we went for the vegetable risotto (you do have to specify removing parmesan to make this vegan) and that was also really delicious! Once again in Kalkan the hospitality was amazing and the staff made us feel really welcome and at home, another restaurant worth visiting!
