Fantastic vegan restaurant - Edit
Beautiful riverside setting with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and the vegan food was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice. Everything was fresh and flavourful. We'd definitely return and highly recommend Beck Hall to anyone visiting the Yorkshire Dales!

Gorgeous Meal & Very Dog Friendly - Edit
We loved our Sunday lunch and felt so welcomed. I had the organic wine flight, roast with mushroom wellington, and cream tea with a huge fruit scone! Everything was so fresh and lovingly prepared. They're very welcoming of dogs, and even brought my dog a bed to sit on, along with a treat! So much I want to try so I will have to go back!

Plant-based hotel! 🏨🌱 - Edit
I spent five nights here and ate breakfast and dinner every day plus the afternoon tea and Sunday roast. It was such a dream to have delicious and reliable vegan food while getting to explore the Yorkshire Dales! The restaurant was the star of the hotel. I would not call it a vegan hotel, but a plant-based restaurant with rooms that you can crash in. The housekeeping was inconsistent and incomplete and there is no concierge or desk staff to speak of, the wait staff of the restaurant also deal with check in and check out. The food is great, and there is an emphasis on plant-based meats rather than vegetables, although some plants came from the on-site garden. The restaurant was lovely and decadent but the hotel was not a luxury experience.

Great food in a beautiful location - Edit
Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed it, great location with loads of walks right from the door (book of local walks in each room proved useful).
Read moreNice and relaxing by a stream, car park for overnight guests only but parking available in the small village.
Food was great, great tasting with some varied options, non vegans would be completely happy with the food. We missed lunch even with walking as the breakfast saw us through to the substantial evening meal.
Nice touch getting Borja Borja in the room each day.
Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Great location
Cons: Cockerel in the place next door!

Beautiful location - Edit
We’ve been to Beck Hall three times so far including a stay over and largely enjoyed our experience.
Read moreGreat to have so many options.
On our recent visit we tried the roast dinner with the Wellington. The trimmings around the centre piece were wonderful but the Wellington was stuffed with watery mushrooms and nothing else as far as I could make out. One of our party couldn’t finish it. Maybe others have had a more positive experience?
We’ve had the roast dinner on a previous occasion and didn’t really like the substitute meat. This though is subjective as on our recent visit one of our party loved the seitan.
Desserts were lovely but another of our party found plastic wrapping within!
On the whole it’s a great venue with wonderful surroundings- a short walk to Malham Cove.
We’ll be back despite the few niggles.
The banana blossom fish and chips is my current favourite!

Lovely hotel in beautiful location - Edit
We stayed here for 3 nights. It's a bit of effort to get to without a car but very doable with planning (train to Skipton and infrequent bus to Malham).
Read moreThe hotel itself is located by a pretty stream and the restaurant is also very popular with daytrippers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good vegan international dishes.

Amazing afternoon tea - Edit
I've wanted to visit Beck Hall for a long time and finally managed to. It was worth the wait. We had a wonderful afternoon tea (chocolate ganache and vegan cream were particular highlights). The weather was good and we're lucky enough to sit next to the river and watch herons and ducks. We came for Beck Hall but the location was incredible and walking time is well worth factoring in on your visit.

The best Vegan food! - Edit
The best vegan restaurant I’ve been too!! I’ve been Vegan for 6 years and there are not many place I enjoy eating out to as prefer my own cooking. But WOW every meal was full of flavour and incredible! Food was presented nicely, portions were great! All food tasted so fresh too.

Just wonderful - Edit
We stayed at the hotel with our two anxious elderly doggies one year old and managed to have a wonderful stay. We were very well looked after. We tried a variety of food which of course was amazing in itself because absolutely everything is vegan. The breakfast items, sandwiches and lasagna were probably our favourites. Not to mention the desserts which were out of this world. We cannot recommend it enough and look forward to being back in the future.

Must Visit Hotel & Restaurant - Edit
We visited here for two nights recently and had such a wonderful experience.
Read moreWe had one of the smaller rooms and it was spacious enough. The bathroom being particularly good with a very reasonably sized shower. Only criticism of the room we stayed in is that the rooms heated up too quickly even when setting the temperature lower this did not make much of a difference.
The location itself is lovely. It is extremely scenic with many great walking routes nearby to take in the scenery and get your legs moving. The hotel provides some great walking leaflets on routes etc which are extremely helpful. The roads leading into Malham are extremely narrow so if you are driving into the area make sure to take it slowly.
The restaurant was the biggest highlight. The options at dinner were exceptional with a wide variety available. The stuff we tried at dinner time was high quality with the chocolate bread and butter pudding a particular highlight! Breakfast was also a delight with the hot food options and breakfast bar providing nourishment before a big hike. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the trip and made everything relaxing.
It was great seeing so many cute dog guests as well!

4.5 hours drive, just one night, but so worth it - Edit
The staff were all extremely caring, friendly and helpful. Our room was bright, and an individual victorian design. Balcony windows opened onto a babbling river, living rooftop. Our daughter is not only vegan but has a severe milk and egg allergy and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate that given that even thought it's all vegan, some ingredients may contain traces (e.g made in a factory that handles milk...)
Read moreCosy hotel guests-only snug always had a fire on with games and comfy seating.
Dinner was great. Lots of variety and good sized portions. Breakfast all vegan pastries were delicious. Loads of options.
Very dog friendly, our 15 years old beardie didn't wasn't to leave: thought it had found it's retirement home.
... and if course EVERYTHING vegan so you never need to ask!

Fantastic! - Edit
Absolutely loved this place.
Read moreWe planned a weekend away around a visit to Beck Hall because we were so desperate to eat in a vegan restaurant- to experience the joy of choosing anything we wanted and not having to scrutinise the menu first.
I was expecting great food but I was so happy to find that everything about Beck Hall is idyllic, not just the food. The food, the setting, the staff, the ambience, quite literally the best place, the best food, the best of everything. Cannot wait to return, and to try the new place in Wales too.
Thank you! 🙏
Pros: Everything!, Seriously, everything!, I mean it!
Cons: Nope, Still nope, Stop it!

Must visit - Edit
Beck Hall is one of those rare places where the food alone would justify the journey, but staying overnight transforms it into something genuinely unforgettable. The fully vegan menu is nothing short of exceptional—thoughtful, creative, and deeply satisfying without ever feeling like it’s trying to replicate anything else. Each dish is packed with flavour and intention, from comforting, indulgent mains to lighter plates that still feel complete and exciting. But what truly elevates the experience is choosing to stay; it allows you to slow down, fully immerse yourself, and enjoy the food without any sense of rush. Dinner becomes an occasion rather than a stop, something to savour properly in the calm, cosy atmosphere that Beck Hall does so well.
Read moreAnd then there’s the breakfast, which might just be the highlight of it all. It’s clear the same care and creativity carries through into the morning, with beautifully prepared dishes that feel both nourishing and indulgent. Sitting down to that kind of breakfast, in such a peaceful setting, completes the whole experience in a way that a single visit never could. Beck Hall isn’t just a great vegan restaurant—it’s a place where staying makes everything feel richer, more relaxed, and easily ten times more memorable.

Pretty much perfect - Edit
My family and I (3 vegan 1 vegetarian) stayed at this fully plant-based hotel for 2 nights and we loved it. The location is brilliant, rooms are lovely and the food is some of the best vegan food I have personally had. The restaurant is also open to people who aren’t guests at the hotel. The food is on the pricey side but worth it for the quality in my opinion.
