Bend it like Beck-hall - Edit
Beautiful sunny spot by the river, with a broad vegan menu. Dishes were filling but also a little bit fancy. The chicken paperdelle was a highlight, as was the non-alcoholic beer on top.

A wonderful vegan experience! - Edit
Me and my wife came to stay here for three nights and had an amazing time!
Read moreThe hotel was absolutely lovely. It was clean and well-maintained and our room had everything we needed including a TV, kettle, oat milk (which was topped up daily), comfy beds, good shower, mirror with a light and even a tray to put our shoes in.
Downstairs was a cozy shared space ("The snug") with comfy chairs and sofas, and a wood fire. They also had games and books in this room.
The location is also beautiful with the hotel sitting right next to a stream and surrounded by countryside. The restaurant is positioned right next to the stream with floor to ceiling windows on three sides giving it an open feel. The stream also makes it a peaceful and beautiful place to sit and eat. On the evenings when it was warmer they also opened the windows which gave it an even more open and peaceful feel.
The hotel is also dog friendly and we enjoyed sitting in the restaurant and the snug while watching and interacting with all the dogs around us!
The service for all of our meals was friendly and very speedy. The menu was creative with a wide range of dishes. They also have a cocktail bar within the restaurant and the cocktail menu was also very good.
We ate a lot of food while we were here and I've tried to summarise my main opinions on all of the different dishes we tried below:
– Sunday roast ('Chicken' Seitan/Mushroom Wellington): both good but seitan better, standout was Yorkshire pudding which was crispy and delicious, filling portion, cauliflower cheese was tasty but maybe could've had cheesier flavour
– Sticky toffee pudding: Rich and delicious with lovely ginger flavour
– Pomegranate & rose mess: very tasty with light sweet cream, delicate meringue and nice crunch from pomegranate seeds
– Breakfast bar: Great selection of pastries, fruit, cereal, fruit juice. Pain Au chocolat was delicious with soft pastry
– Avocado & carrot Lox on sourdough: Nice big portion with generous amount of avocado, very tasty
– Beck Hall breakfast: fresh and tasty, scrambled tofu very good, flavourful sausages, tasty sourdough
– Scrambled tofu on sourdough: Nice big portion, tasty bread, tasty scrambled tofu with mayo giving it creaminess and extra flavour

Cons: Mixup with maintenance which got sorted

(continued from review): – Afternoon tea: Great selection and generous amount of food. Sandwiches were tasty, bread was fresh and soft, I think one was cream cheese and carrot lox, other two I'm not sure but one was very tasty. Really good scones – Rich buttery flavour, Nice and soft with lots of raisins, delicious with the cream and jam. Cream was light and sweet. Granola bar was really good with great texture and flavour, trillionaire tart had a nice dense texture and was very chocolatey with a rich flavour, biscoff cake was fresh with soft sponge, great flavour and delicious icing. They also sell all three of these in the bar e.g. for afternoon snack. Had to take the cake to eat later as we were stuffed after the rest of the food
Read more– Pornstar martini: very tasty
– Truffle wild mushrooms: lots of flavour and the bread was tasty and crispy, my favourite of the three starters we had this night
– Lebanese Caprese: fresh salad flavours contrasted really nicely with the Rich bitterness of the tahini
–smoked sea salt & Rosemary Foccacia (Seasonal special): Nice crispy bread with lovely creamy Hummus
–slow cooked seitan shortrib: corn was delicious, Nice seitan texture, sweet potato soft and tasty, not the biggest fan of the cinnamon and sweet flavour of the seitan but was still good but think I would've preferred a more typical rich smoky flavour
– Middle eastern Kofta: Great mixture of flavours, interesting and delicious, bread also nice and soft, a little bit spicy
– Banana blossom & chips: lovely crispy chips with great flavour, soft and fluffy inside, very tasty with the tartar sauce and mushy peas which both had good flavours, Banana blossom was decent although could've had more flavour and batter could've been a bit crispier
– Basil & pumpkin seed pesto pappardelle with added 'chicken': tasty pesto flavour, good pasta texture, generous amount of 'chicken ', could've had a bit more flavour
–English asparagus & pea risotto (Starter, seasonal special): tasty and creamy but glad I had as a starter rather than main as they have better main options than this
– Espresso martini: strong coffee flavour, nicely tipsy after
– Spiced Potato & sweet pea samosas: tasty filling and delicious, super crispy pastry
– Tamarind treacle-glazed baby back 'ribs': tasty, similar flavour to the 'short rib' main
– Mushroom stroganoff pudding and North Indian Thali: both tasty but I indulged too much earlier in the day and I was too full by the time I ate them to properly assess them!
The only negative of our stay was that we came home from a walk on one of the days to find our room door open with work men with a ladder and toolbox set up inside. It turned out they were there to fix the mirror but we had had no communication about this and were shocked to come back and find our door wide open. Initially the staff didn't seem that apologetic either although after we stressed our disappointment they did give us a free drink each and were apologetic again when we checked out. Ultimately this was just a blip in an otherwise wonderful stay and we would definitely come back!

Truly Amazing ! - Edit
Beck Hall is an award winning, FULLY VEGAN hotel & restaurant in a great location for scenic walks.
Read moreThe outstanding menu of deliciously tasty VEGAN food 😋 was a memorable 60th birthday treat for me, which my partner & I thoroughly enjoyed.
The Upper Riverside room was great & it had the best power shower I've ever used at a hotel !
The welcoming & attentive staff made this 4 nights' break away even more lovely, with a special mention to Wade; Steph & and David, who were so friendly & helpful.
It was, refreshingly, no trouble at all for the staff to accommodate slight deviations to the menu choices, which was a pleasant change from some hotels/restaurants I've been to, (where it's so rigid with a menu that you can't add or subtract any ingredient or swap with other food items).
Beck Hall is a fab place to relax, unwind & indulge in the plentiful, scrumptious food! We'll 💯% be back, for sure!!👍🤩💚💜
Pros: Amazing Vegan food, Lovely relaxing location, Attentive, friendly & helpful staff
Cons: The garden areas just needed some attention, Juicy marbles meal needs peas/veg

Amazing! Booked to go back soon! - Edit
Gutted this place is 3 hours away! Although probably best for my waist line! lol Spoilt for choice! Full breakfast and pancakes both so good! Afternoon tea, amazing and such good value! Sunday lunch, my husband’s favourite. The banana blossom ‘fish’ and chips was my favourite although the suet pudding was very good too! Cheesecake is to die for!

Amazing Sunday Roast! - Edit
Had the best plant based Sunday Roast I’ve ever had! Generous portions of veg, potatoes and even a Yorkshire pudding ! I chose the mushroom Wellington and my daughter had the “beef” seitan and we had half each. Both were super tasty ! We sat outside by the stream in the sunshine and it was very relaxing and needed after our walk up malham cove.

Amazing - Edit
Absolutely gorgeous setting . Our table was next to the stream teeming with wildlife. Peaceful and scenic. The food and service were impeccable . Being 100% vegan we were spoilt for choice. I can highly recommend the spare ribs to start and cheesecake for desert. The pasta with chicken and suet pudding as mains were perfect. I wish I lived nearer.

Amazing choice, some dishes better than others - Edit
We didn’t stay in the rooms here but stayed nearby so ate here often. Full English breakfast was nice but mushrooms were tinned. The pancakes were pretty but dry and hard. The avocado and carrot was very good. The scramble on toast was ok but too lumpy for me.
Read moreThe roast dinner was nice but I’d prefer not to have gravy inside my Yorkshire. We both had the beef, I found the texture too soggy and there was so much of it. Gravy was too thick and lumpy. The lasagne was so dry inside the layers, and not rich and moist as it should be. The suet pudding was very nice, no complaints there. The meringue was to die for! The chia Leon cheesecake was very good but I feel would have been nicer without the chia. The carrot cake was dry and the icing far too sweet. The scone was dry and grainy textured not nice. The sandwiches were good though.
It’s basically pub grub. Wonderful to have such an array of choices but a bit hit and miss.

Lives up to the Hype! - Edit
Visited here three times over a long weekend in Yorkshire. It's a truly beautiful setting - very close to Malham Cove. The restaurant itself is lovely and open and the service was excellent throughout (food was does come out much slower during busier times so worth being aware if you're in a rush!).
Read moreFood was generally exceptional. Choice of items was brilliant. Our favourite meal was the Sunday roast by far which came with a yorkshire pudding, lots of veg and was very filling. We also had fish & chips (very tasty batter!), pesto pasta (a little plain but still nice) and sampled all the deserts (all wonderful! especially the cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding). My partner is gluten free and had lots of choice (although a recommendation to Beck Hall is to toast the bun or at least cook it a little bit). The only other minor suggestion is that it seems a bit unfair to put a surcharge on a salad (as opposed to a sandwich) - it should really be the other way round. These are really minor points in what was an amazing visit each time - it definitely lives up to the hype and is well worth a visit. Thank you Beck Hall!

Amazing weekend! - Edit
I loved it here. The BnB is very cute, you get booja booja truffles and a choice of milk for coffees in your room. Breakfast was a buffet of pastries, cereal, toast and fruit with a choice of main dish. I loved the tofu scramble here so got the breakfast sandwich the first day and the tofu on toast the second day. The evening meals are fab (although they had a gnocchi special on that I didn't enjoy). The Sunday dinner was delicious too. Really recommend staying here or at least popping in for breakfast!

Lovely stay - Edit
We had such a lovely, relaxed stay at Beck Hall. The superior room was great and looked out over the stream. It's so nice to go somewhere plant based, so you don't have to worry or ask about everything you're eating. Just order and trust. I have a soy intolerance, and this was taken seriously, and menu options fully explained. All the staff team took this seriously, and I wasn't made to feel awkward (which is quite often how I feel even if it's not intentional by food servers). It would be good to have more soy free options. However, everything i ate was lovely, and the cheesecake was divine! Nice walks on the doorstep. All the team were lovely and friendly.

Magical stay - Edit
So I stayed at Beck Hall for two nights in one of the classic rooms (it was a gorgeous little sun trap!)
Read moreMy whole stay was perfect. The room, the food, the friendly staff, the gorgeous sunny terrace next to the beck…. My dog was not just welcome, he was made to feel like a special little prince (which let’s face it is what he expects from every day life!) and I was his carer 😂
Despite being very dog friendly, you cannot tell that dogs stay there, the rooms are spotless. The restaurant is super clean and guests and staff alike seem to genuinely love the doggy visitors.
Now onto the food. My first meal was banana blossom & chips (yum), followed by the lemon chia cheesecake (so good), for breakfast both mornings I had the full English and my other evening meal was the juicy marbles steak with peppercorn sauce …all the food was delicious and great portion size, I was very full! Can’t wait to visit again to work my way through the menu! (Already booked!)
The only thing that could be better is if there was some yummy vegan biscuits in the rooms to go with the tea tray!
Pros: The food, The lovely room, The dog friendliness
Cons: No biccies in the room (I can’t drink tea without!

The food is incredible. Every element has well thought out taste. Dog friendly and within a 5 minute walk of Malham Cove. We were watching wild birds from our bedroom window. Pay a visit. You won’t regret it. They took a risk going plant based and I really hope it continues to work for them because it’s a gem.

I cannot fault the food at all. The heading description doesn't do it justice. It is also a dog friendly hotel. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food . We had a la carte Saturday dinner with cocktails. We also had the roast Sunday lunch which again is very good value considering the quality. The puddings are sublime

Wow. I don’t know where to even start!

The rooms, staff, atmosphere were incredible, the FOOD!! I was in heaven, we made sure we ate as many times as possible during our stay because I had such a fear of missing out haha.
The location is absolutely perfect, ideal. I cannot think of one thing to grumble about it was the best hotel experience I’ve had.
Thank you so much to all the team for making a fuss of our little Margot too, she gets anxious sometimes and too made her feel right at home.
We will certainly be back ❤️
