Many options!

We visited Avocado twice during our short stay in Athens. The staff is very friendly, and the food was good. The menu is extensive with many options and ingredient transparency is good. We had the macro bowl, the poke bowl, the black bean burrito and the koala panini, and we would eat all again.

Pros: Extensive menu , Good location , Lots of seating

Cons: Coffee could be better

So good!

We really enjoyed our meal at Avocado. I had the Poke Bowl and it felt so good to have some nutritious food after a while of trying to make meals out of salads and Meze plates. The only downside is that it is quite expensive.

Pros: Delicious and nutritious!

Cons: Expensive

Centrally located vegetarian/vegan place

Although a busy place and buzzing with people, we were lucky to get a small table outside. A restaurant with a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options, frequented mostly by and locals alike, the menu seemed to cater to an international palate.

Pros: Plenty to choose from , Fresh and interesting dishes. , Service was good

Cons: A little pricier than other places in Athens.

Great large menu with nice ambiance

Perfect food spot for the healthy and/or vega/ vegan person. Centrally located, with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, Avocado offers a great menu with a lot of options! It was difficult to choose..everything I tasted was delicious. Normally I don’t like Acai, but the Acai smoothie with hemp and flax seeds was very tasteful. I wish so many restaurants would have the spirit of Avocado 👌

Pros: Lots of vegeterian and vegan options , Healthy smoothies with powerfoods , Friendly staff

Excellent, really nice staff

The food was so good, there was a lot of options to choose from, and the staff was nice.
I had a vegan poke ball, which was excellent, and my boyfriend got a juice, some hummus and pita bread, and some stuffed aubergine with cheese, and everything was very good.

Pros: A lot of options, Very good food, Nice staff

Pretty Good

This was the first place I went to in Athens, because at the time it was one of the only vegan-friendly places available. I've been back several times, partly because it's easy to get to, and the food is good.

The more times I go, the less impressed I am, however. The atmosphere is nice; pretty typical veg restaurant with light wood tables, cheery green walls, and a lot of bright space. We went this past summer again, but on one of the super-hot days, and ended up seated upstairs. I had never been up there before. We had to sit on cushions on the floor, and the server wasn't very attentive. After our meal - and I don't even recall what I got - we were not asked about dessert; but it's probably just as well, because the previous couple of times there, the vegan dessert options were very limited. Admittedly, it was not our best day on vacation, but sometimes a person or place can make or break a mood. In this case, Avocado did nothing to make our day much brighter.

Because I have been there quite a few times before, I want to add that this isn't our normal experience. The servers we've had have been really personable and friendly (though not vegan, sadly), and the place has been accommodating even during a bit of a rush. I don't know if they take reservations, but we have never made any.

By far the macro plate is the absolute best - and the pumpkin soup! I don't usually care for pumpkin-this and pumpkin-that, but their soup was outstanding. The macro plate will make you feel healthy almost right away if you've been bingeing on junk food recently. The tofu is soooo delicious; I think they should add extra tofu to the macro plate. But that's just me. Some may prefer the sweet potatoes or rice. In any case, it is incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced.

I would say the two downsides of Avocado are that it's not vegan, and that the vegan desserts are few. I think there is an apple pie, which I didn't have because my wife's mother had made us one; and some raw chocolate thing which, to be honest, was the worst vegan dessert I have ever had. It was bitter and dense, the coconut cream was not sweet, and I couldn't eat it. So I wouldn't recommend Avocado for dessert, but I most definitely would recommend their macro plate. It is scrumptious.

Pros: Conveniently located to tourists, cheery decor, Very reasonably priced, Delicious vegan entrees & appetizers

Cons: Not all vegan, They believe in "happy sheep" milk, Raw vegan dessert is bad

Great vegan option

If I had to choose only one vegan restaurant of the three I visited in Athens, I would have to go for Avocado. Great menu, a lot of choices, fresh food and beverages, good location and atmosphere and awesome staff. Thank you, guys!

Disappointing

I've ordered a main dish and a dessert - both vegan.
The main dish was called Zen Tempeh and consisted of spaghetti in a tahini sauce. It wasn't very good and was too salty to the degree that you couldn't really taste other flavours. The tempeh itself was boring. Not very tasty.
The dessert was called Hug a Tree and was basically an apple pie. Halfway through eating it I suddenly felt an entire bayleaf in my mouth which I had to spit out of course. The crust was bad and tasteless. A very mediocre apple pie.
The prices were high in relation to the quality.
I'm not giving it one star only because the staff is nice.

Pros: The staff was nice

Cons: Boring food, Low quality, Pricey

Wonderful menu

A bright, clean, bustling restaurant with an extensive menu. We shared a starter and then the Luminus Vegan, a brown rice base with snow peas, edamame, cashews, mushrooms and avocado. Delicious.
Main portions are huge, and so are some of those marked as entrees. The waiter gave us good advice on how much to order.
And then we came back again. And again.

Pros: Many vegan choices all marked, Variety fusing many cuisines, Helpful staff

typical vegetarian restaurant -no surprises

A rather typical menu for a vegetarian restaurant. Some middle east, some Asian and maybe some Mediterranean. Ok, food but no sensations and not much of flavor and spices.

Friendly staff, and very central location, maybe that is why it is a little bit overpriced for rather simple food.

I can recommend it because and do not know so many other vegan or vegetarian places in Athens.

However, again, the rating is too high for a rather ordinary vegetarian restaurant.

We had some kind of hummus, not very tasty at all. The soup was ok and the Indian/Thai dish was too much of just Coconut milk taste. No other flavors of spices or vegetables recognizable.

Pros: Central location, Friendly staff, I dont know

Cons: overpriced, standard meny, not many flavors at all

Tasty!

I could not decide what to eat here! Everything looked amazing! I had rice and my friend pasta (vegan) and it was delicious!!! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is cosy!
It is a bit expensive in comparison to other places in Athens, but I’ve paid more in other European countries for less food.

Update: went again and I was no disappointed!!! I had the vegan wrap and sweet potatoes!!!!
The vegan chocolate cake is amazing!

Fantastic for a vegan tourist

Though not all menu items were vegan, there are plenty of options. Different types of cuisine including Asian and European. Perfectly convenient for a travelling vegan as there's also a great grocer next door.

Staff are super friendly and accommodating!

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Bit pricey but still reasonable

Superb

Found by accident we had one of the best meals in a commercial reasonably priced restaurant we have had in years.

The food was delicious and the only regret was that we found it too late in our stay so we could not go back and work our way through the extensive menu.

Pros: tasty, large menu with lots of variety, central location and excellent staff

Still as lovely as last time!

Second trip to Athens. As soon as I checked into my hotel, I came here to make sure the falafel plate was still as awesome as last year....and it was! Staff and ambience still great too. All veggie and lots of vegan options. A must-eat eatery!

Pros: lots of vegan options, relaxed and friendly

Cons: Non

Great options for vegans

I’ve eaten at Avocado the two times I was in Athens and was very pleased with both meals. They have a pretty big menu with an array of options (appetizers, salads, rice/noodles, burgers, smoothies, etc). Can’t go wrong here if you’re vegan or vegetarian and looking for a place to eat.
