Can not recommend highly enough - Edit
The best vegan food in Chiang Mai and in Thailand. The restaurant is run by a wonderful Thai lady who is totally passionate about veganism concept. She also works as an organic farming consultant and her food is locally sourced and organic. The food itself was delicious, freshly cooked with love and beautifully presented. We have meals there over 2 days and I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Read moreThe menu is extensive. We have tried Burmese tea leaf salad, Thai green curry, Thai yellow curry, cucumber rolls for dinner and mushroom noodle soup and Spanish “omelette” for breakfast and everything was delicious.
If you are in Chiang Mai, make sure you visit.
Pros: Super friendly owner/cook, Excellent, organic food

Nice place but out of the way - Edit
It's a nice place with organic locally sourced vegan food. There is no drinks menu and you might have to ask for fruit shake. She had strawberries so I asked for a pineapple, banana fruit shake with coconut milk which was delicious.
Read moreI had some nice cucumber rolls, the tofu larb was ok. The tofu seaweed and chili was very good but not very spicy. We added the fried tofu which is normally on rice onto a pad thai and that was good also.
The food tasted good, it had gourmet presentation and as stated in previous reviews the woman who runs it is dedicated to vegan organic food and speaks great English, it's a shame it's so far out of town.
Pros: locally sourced organic food, good vegan cuisine
Cons: far out location, should have a drinks menu

beautiful vegan restaurant - Edit
the Ama Vegan Kitchen restaurant is located at the back of the large complex behind the high rise buildings ... the resturant is open everyday from 8 am to 8 pm (the kitchen closes at 7.30 pm) ... the noise from the highway is minimal so the restaurant offers a larhe, cool, clean relaxing space to enjoy your food ... the restaurant has a rooftop area that is great for evening dining especially during festivals when there are fireworks ... you can book accommodation via BnB and stay in a condo in the same complex as the resturant ... there are so many great options on the menu it is hard to choose only 1 item ... the staff are super friendly and speak very good English ... free and fast wifi

The older lady who runs it speaks perfect English.
Worth wearing long trousers/sleeves as the mosquitos are around here even during the daytime.
Could be quite difficult to get to this restaurant on foot so would recommend car/moped.

Cons: Mosquitos, Awkward to get to on foot

friendly and amazing - Edit
This place had some of the best food I’ve had in SE Asia, the owner? woman who served us was so nice and spoke great English. Told us about any dish we had questions, and they have a VEGAN FRIED EGG. Put on top of the best pad Thai, I couldn’t believe it when she told me what it was made out off. Sorry, totally stealing that for my home pad thai!

Wow, such a great experience! The food is great and the host (and her kitchen crew) makes it complete.
Read moreWe ordered three dishes; red curry, noodle soup and eggplant with tomatoes. Every dish delivered us with a lovely taste explosion! All carefully prepared by the lovely owner :) We liked it so much that we took two dishes to go to eat as breakfast! Again the owner was very helpfull in selecting the best dish for us.
Definitely worth the walk! Would go here again if only we’d stay in Chiang Mai a little longer.

Authentic, nutritious Thai food. Amazing staff. - Edit
This is by far the best option in Chiang Mai for 100% vegan (and organic!) Thai food. The owner, Thom, is a gentle, beautiful being. She purchases all her veg from the local organic market and they make almost everything from scratch (i.e. their tempeh, sauces etc). It’s slightly outside of town but definitely worth the trek if you’re seeking nutritious, high quality Thai food.

Best in Chiang Mai - Edit
This place was fantastic. The owner is very friendly is really just wants everyone to eat great vegan food. We went there twice and everything that we ate was fantastic.
Read moreIt is cheap to go there via Uber, but they way back they want about 4 times as much. We walked down to the street going back into the Old City and caught a Red Taxi Truck.
Pros: Food , Drinks
Cons: Getting there
MyVeganJoy
Actually Uber doesn't charge more because it's "going back" or any direction for that matter. Uber rates get much higher during peak hours, especially between 4 pm and 7 pm. You were probably trying to get an Uber during rush hour, which explains the higher rates.

Wonderful - Edit
Showed up at 2:30 and had the place to myself. It's such a wonderful restaurant that I ordered way more food than I should have, because I wanted to give them the business. The staff was very nice. My meal came out in three courses. Each better than the last (see pictures) I Will definitely be coming back. The menu is extensive, I was impressed!

Fantastic vegan food; check it out! - Edit
Fantastic place serving 100% vegan food. They have an extensive menu with amazing soy yoghurt and heaps of other delicious vegan goodies. We went there twice as it was in close proximity to the apartment that we were staying at. The owner is a lovely, helpful lady, who is also fluent in English.
Read moreThe only downside was the mosquito attack during dinner one night. The main reason for this is because the restaurant and kitchen are located in an outdoor area - no walls / blinds etc, and there's a lot of lush greenery around. Despite using multiple mosquito repellent stickers from pharmacies, AND repellent spray that the owner had on the table, we endured a few bites from massive hardy mosquitoes. It wasn't too bad, but I'd recommend going during the day when you won't get bitten.
Pros: Delectable vegan food and soy yoghurt, Friendly owner
Cons: Mosquitoe attacks at night

Peaceful, healthy and delicious - Edit
We had a very nice lunch in Ama Vegan Kitchen. Really appreciated consciously sourced organic ingredients and freshly made food. Try the Chia pudding - made in coconut milk, topped with mango - it's really good, without sugars but plenty delicious and so creamy. The owner Thom is a very sweet Thai lady who has been vegan for many years and is committed to a plantbased healthful kitchen. Open 8-8. It's inside the condo, so the whole place is like an oasis, with greenery, benches, and paths, and it's very spacious, too. I'm going back soon for more chia pudding. :)

Practical if you drive along Super Highway - Edit
I visited here today because I saw the sign "Vegan Kitchen" when driving along the super highway. People who come to this restaurant might get surprised how the setting is nice, calm and clean even that the highway is next to it.
Read moreI had just ramen soup here, the soup was fine and the place is definitely more sophisticated than in any cheap jay-vegan restaurants, but the prices are higher too, but still not expensive.
When driving from east, you need to take the outer side of the Super Highway after passing Tesco Lotus hypercentre. If you are coming from the direction of Maya Shopping Center, you need to do a U-turn over Super Highway right after Chiang Mai National Museum. You will see the sign along the road.
The restaurant is in the inner yard of modern condo buildings. The menu has several pages and includes Thai food, noodles, soups, curries, dips with vegetables, tofu food, stir-frys, Thai salads and raw food.
Pros: Good-looking yard, clean and spacy, practical if you drive along super highway
