Comfort Food

Despite my amazing waitress’ (Lillian) recommendation to the contrary, I ended up ordering the Country Chicken as well as the Sweet Corn & Fennel Soup. Both were outstanding, but the Country Chicken did me in. I simply couldn’t finish it even though I was quite hungry.

Great be discovery

New discovery

Nice unassuming location and chill atmosphere.
Lily, was fun, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and effective service even as the only person serving the whole room. Stood up to service even as room reached capacity.
We had two non vegans and one vegan. Everyone loved the food. We had:
Crispy Brussels and Smashed Patatas Brava for starters - delicious and had leftovers to save room for dinner.
Special grinder with chickpea as protein, Harissa roasted carrots, and Country Chicken for the vegan. Outstanding flavors, great presentations, and no skimping on dish size. I especially thought the Country chicken elicited old flavor and taste buds pre-vegan. Chicken was moist, firm and delicious, Loved the gravy and potatoes. The cornbread was moist and delicious with cinnamon butter dripping generously over it.
Only con is I'm 3000 miles away, but will be back!

Nice Vegan Place

We’re from Boston and find ourselves in Providence every now and then. After drying our tears and trying to recover from the fact that Plant City closed, we made reservations at Pianta. No real complaints- the food is really good, the atmosphere is quaint, and the location is great. It didn’t blow us away, but maybe we are just still hurting from the closure of our favorite spot.

Vegfest after party!

We spent all afternoon at Vegfest then PiANTA for dinner! It was awesome. We love to support 100%vegan restaurants!!!!
We had the chx parm egg roll (ranch dip fantastic), country chx dinner, hearts of palm ceviche and cannoli dip for desert. Everything was delicious and nice ambiance! We are from NH or would go back every week.

Brunch!

We went to their New Year’s brunch, and had all you can eat pancakes, chicken and waffles, and a steak/cheese roll thing. All of it was amazing and quite decadent. Great for a hangover! I think Pianta is my fav vegan place in Providence now😄

Best dessert I’ve ever had

I’m giving it five stars just for the cannoli dessert. I dream about it all the time. The thanksgiving egg rolls are also a 10/10.

I almost dropped a star because I thought the Mac and Cheese was just average, but that might just be me based off the other reviews here. The chicken, potato, cornbread dish was quite large and tasty.

Oh my goodness

This place is AMAZING! Hands down some of the best vegan food I've ever tried. Nothing too complicated, regular dishes executed perfectly where every flavor combines blissfully to bring out the best of every ingredient. You definitely don't want to miss the cannoli dip!

Pros: Food, Service, Cannoli dip

Cons: A little expensive

Fantastic food!

We had a terrific meal at PiAnta. Everything on the menu sounds great, but I chose the caprese salad with a side of Mac and cheese, and my husband had the penne allá vodka. We also had the citrus tomatoes & garlic bread as an appetizer. The Mac and cheese was, by far, the best vegan one I’ve had in the 5 years I’ve been vegan. The appetizer was delicious, the penne was creamy and wonderful, and the caprese salad was very good as well (although a bit heavy on the ricotta). The fudge brownie for dessert was rich and decadent.
Our server was friendly and efficient. Overall we had a great experience and will absolutely be back!

Pros: Wonderful, delicious vegan options, Woman-owned business, Great service

Cons: Too cold with the a/c

Tons of flavor, perfectly orchestrated to go together

We stumbled across this place tonight without realizing it was entirely Vegan. We're not Vegan ourselves, but our daughter is, so we eat a lot of Vegan cuisine. I ordered a zucchini "steak" dish that sounded unique, and my hubby got the country "chicken." Both were extraordinary - the best meal either of us has had since we moved to RI (and we've had some great meals).

The food was honestly bursting with flavor, and the quantity was just right. The service was perfect, too, attentive without being intrusive. We debated getting dessert, since the dinner flavor left such a satisfying taste behind, but we couldn't resist the gluten-free chocolate brownie. It came with raspberries on top and a trickle of raspberry sauce, in a combination that was again perfect - crispy edges, a gooey center, sweet and rich but not too much so, with the raspberry flavor offsetting the chocolate in a way I've never tasted in my entire not-particularly-young life. It was so, so good, and to my surprise, it blended well with the dinner flavors. I've been sitting here all evening enjoying the last remnants of the taste, reluctant to go brush my teeth, and I thought I should take a moment to leave a review on the various sites. We will absolutely be return customers, and we can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Wonderful experience

Everything was wonderful from the marinated tomatoes and garlic bread appetizer, we really enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad, and the cannoli dip was a great way to end the night. The staff is nice and friendly. And I’m happy to recommend this place.

Not a fan

I used to love this place and order all the time when they were takeout only. We live pretty far away and would get take out and the order was always missing things but the food was good so we dealt with it. I’ve waited a year to order again because they messed up a huge order so badly I was done- I really wanted the chicken dinner tonight and we placed a large order and of course the chicken dinner and Brussels were missing and no one answers the phone!!! Not only that but the rest of the food was terrible, the corn bread tasted like baking soda, the Mac n cheese was just oily and the meatballs were so salty and tasted like beyond that they were inedible… totally disappointed

Twice in 2 days!

We loved what we had so much that we returned with friends and ordered the same things again! We were not disappointed, and our non-veg friend was equally impressed.

We highly recommend the delicious “Chicken” Fried Steak (5/5⭐️) and the Passion Fruit Thai Tea (5/5⭐️). We also enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake (4/5⭐️).

Pros: Delicious choices

Good not great

Feel like I'm going against the grain here, but I was not impressed. The food was food, sure, and it was vegan, so that's nice. But aside from the elote everything we tried was just... fine.

Am I happy there's a vegan option here? Sure. Will I go to Plant City next time? You betcha.

Absolute Must

As somebody born and raised in Texas, I had to evaluate their country fried steak and I must say it was phenomenal. It was very crispy, the mashed potatoes were delicious and buttery, and the cornbread was perfect. I loved the touch of fruit spread added into the butter. My girlfriend had the vodka penne which she very much enjoyed. We shared a dessert, which was also amazing. Pricey, but very much worthwhile. Parking could easily be a challenge, but lucked out on a side street.

Pros: Flavor

Cons: Parking

Our second meal here. Excellent again!

I had the Shawarma Plate, which was excellent. I liked everything on the plate - the tomato and cuke salad, the "chicken," the hummus, the garlic sauce, and the pita. The pita, which is often a plain-Jane stock item, was noticeably soft, fresh, & delicious. My wife had the Peach & Heirloom Tomato Salad and enjoyed every bite. We each had a glass of chardonnay. I don't remember what vineyard it was from, but it was better than most I've had.

One of my favorite places to bring non-vegan friends and family

Pianta is such a wonderful place to go. The staff is excellent and you can tell they really enjoy being there. The atmosphere is positive, bright and welcoming. Michelle is incredibly talented and creates beautiful delicious seasonal dishes. In the cocktail menu carries over the creativity and quality.

BEST DINNER EVER (NYE)

I’ve been to brunch here several times (which deserves its own separate post bc just wow) but this was my first dinner here. We split the steak and cheese egg rolls. I got the filet mignon with cauliflower mash and roasted potatoes. Let me tell you it was WORTH the $36. I couldn’t believe how good it was. Then for dessert they had an Oreo fudge brownie special. My nonvegan friend and I agreed it was the best brownie either of us had ever had. I wish it was a permanent item! If you haven’t had dinner here yet, do yourself a favor and go! They are 100% vegan and everyone there is extremely friendly and accommodating. 15/10 #Veganuary

Pros: Filet mignon!!!!, BROWNIE!, No words bc it was just so incredible
