Loved it!

I had breakfast here on a recent trip to SF, and really enjoyed it. The Southwest Scrambled Tofu was excellent and the portions are huge! My only complaint is that the guacamole was not homemade. I will definitely eat here again.

I've ate at the GLC three times now, and I've never been disappointed. Their vegan soups are delicious, the Plato Platter is enormous, and the sandwiches are great. The vegan French Dip, which is usually on special, is especially tasty. There are lots of promising items on the menu, which will keep me coming back again and again. Trains rumble by a mere 30 feet away from the back door, serving as a constant reminder of what makes Georgetown so unique. The atmosphere varies depending on the time of day and who's bar tending, but I definitely prefer the nights when punk rock is piped in. What's better than a pint of Manny's and a Field Roast sandwich a few blocks away from where they are created?

A couple of friends and I arrived just before brunch (10:30) on a recent Sunday. After he was looked over head to toe, my friend was told the wait was an hour and a half. I called from outside to verify, and I was told the wait was 20 minutes. I then walked inside to put my name in, and the host told me the wait was 2 hours. Seating was visibly available, so I'm not sure what the problem was. It seemed as if we were being snubbed.

Great Experience

Maybe this place has been whipped into shape since the last reviews. All I can say is, if you live in a neighborhood with a veg restaurant like this and a vegetarian sushi joint a few doors down, you're lucky. I ate here on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it. The soup was great. I had a huge plate of brown rice, steamed veggies, and tofu in a garlic ginger sauce that left me fat and happy. Service was pleasant and clean.
