Rocking awesome treats and community support!

In 2012 I was a volunteer at the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) and in charge of putting on their prom. Part of our responsibilities was soliciting donations for the event.

Back to Eden kindly donated vegan cupcakes for our event and all of the youth loved them! We wouldn't have been able to make it happen without kind donors like BTE.

I go there whenever I can and everything I've gotten from them has been amazing.

Excellent atmosphere, food, and spirits!

We found Cat Bar on happycow and wound up going there three times and we were only in Barcelona a total of 5 days.

There's something to be said for the atmosphere. It's basically a really down-to-earth vegan punk rock bar which plays diverse types of music. The first night we came in the staff made us feel like family. Both owners were working 2 of the three nights we went in.

The food was awesome, the drinks superb, and the music was awesome. The played a variety of music and you were able to sit and have a conversation with your mates while enjoying the decor.

We're 10+ year vegetarians and cat fans so we left wondering why there isn't a bar like this in Portland.

Thank you Cat Bar! We will definitely visit again the next time we're in BCN.

Ice Cream for Strength!

I don't live in Roanoke anymore but every time I go back to visit I make a special trip, or two... or five(!) to Pop's. Their made-from-scratch soups are made with whatever's in season and always delicious! I always enjoy whichever grilled cheese sandwich I get and the ice cream is hormone-free and local. These guys are off the hook!

Excellent eats and community support!

In 2012 I was a volunteer at the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) and in charge of putting on their prom. Part of our responsibilities was soliciting donations for the event.

Sweetpea kindly donated vegan, gluten-free cupcakes for our event and all of the youth loved them! We wouldn't have been able to make it happen without kind donors like SP.

I've eaten here many times and I've enjoyed everything I've gotten so far. This is a great place to spend an afternoon while working on your laptop.

I've tried to like this place but I can't.

I kept hearing about how awesome this place is and I wanted to support a local vegan establishment. I've gone in about 5 or 6 times thinking that I might be hitting it on an off day each time. The final straw was the last two times I went in (again, thinking maybe it was an off-day) and the bartenders kept serving people over me despite the fact that I was standing at the bar, holding a menu, and trying to make eye contact. Considering the fact that I was the only Afro-American patron in the place, I began to get a familiar feeling so I left.

I didn't enjoy the food that much.

I don't want to be completely negative so I will say that the drinks are tasty and creative, however, I'm making the choice not to support this place.

The food is good and the staff is nice.

We tend to go on Wednesday nights for their specials, but I've gone for brunch on the weekend and I find the service to be consistent.

I really like the staff here, they're always really nice and attentive.
