This restaurant has been around for years in Hampstead. The food is really nice, but the service isn’t great. The server brought the wrong food to our table and we picked at it not realising - then we realised, and the waiter just put the food on the correct table after we had been touching it. That table rightly sent it back.
When our food finally arrived it was really delicious - I had the Saag and roti bread for my main. Really recommended.
We've eaten here I guess about 8 times now, over the past 18 months. The food is reliably good, and the prices are cheaper than most other restaurants in the area, so I'm very surprised to see other reviews saying Woodlands is expensive: I don't think that's true! For example in Jan 2019 we paid £33 for one small plate and two large plates, plus a large beer: it was fine for two people.
Dishes we'd recommend include the samosa chaat, the masala and spinach dosas, and the crispy onion and pepper bhajia.
If you're vegan then say, because it's not always obvious which dishes have dairy products. The Tandoori floret, for instance, has cheese on it. I'm sure they'd do it without if asked.
The other good thing is that we've always found a table without booking, so far!
Came here one night before going to the cinema. Really tasty food even if a little on the expensive side. Really good quality and friendly staff. Recommend.
Went out with group of friends. The decor was a lot nicer than you might expect.
We thought the service was good and food was yummy. I enjoyed being able to order a dosa in the UK, haven't seem them on so many menus compared to vegi indian places in the US.
It was a little expensive, but then it was in Hampstead
We'd go back!

Nice food - Edit
Went with a voucher for 2 people for a Thali each. The food was very tasty and all the dishes explained to us.
Read moreHowever, I don't know that I'd return unless I had a voucher as it's really expensive, even for Hampstead!
Pros: tasty, varied thalis, friendly service
Cons: expensive, decor a little tired

Nice place good food - Edit
It's pleasant seating.
Read moreThe papadums are standard. The highlights are the cashew nut pakoras, a bhel poori with pomegranate.
They also make killer dosas, like their paper one.
It's a bit pricey but very tasty.
Pros: cashew nut pakoras, bhel poori with pomegranate
Cons: Bit pricey, could use bigger portions
