Multiple great options! - Edit
Vegan dishes are only available by modification but the dishes that can be readily modified are clearly labeled on the menu and the staff are knowledgeable about the modifiers. Also, the food is delicious!!

Fine enough - Edit
Was very excited to get huevos rancheros! They ended up not being bad but not being great either. The tofu was cooked well but plain in flavor. The green chile was delicious however

Great vegan options! - Edit
I had the tofu wrap with fries, they were some of the best fries I’ve ever had! I’ve also had one of the veggie skillets modified to be vegan. They have a bunch of things that can be modified to be vegan

Excellent Food! - Edit
I had the tofu curry scramble and red potatoes. The scramble was delicious and the potatoes cooked perfectly. We needed a hearty breakfast for a full day of hiking, and we were not disappointed with either the quantity or quality.
Read moreThe one down side was that our waitress did not listen well and was not sensitive to my requests at all. She walked away as I was asking a question. I asked for the toast to be dry, and it came buttered. She was expected to bus her own tables - the fault of management/owners - which meant that when nearby tables needed bussing, she wouldn't even look at us or stand near, but would half-listen while bussing.

Some vegan options if modified - Edit
A few choices of things that can be modified vegan if requested. My wife really loves the breakfast burritos.
Read moreThe best chai ever unfortunately has dairy in mix so even with a milk alternative wouldn’t be dairy free.
When my parents visited we ate here and the portions for prices was expensive. Nearly 5$ for a side of home fries that was at most a small potato.
Pros: Better than freshies
Cons: Pricey , Chai is not diary free

Decent selection - Edit
Decent selection for vegan items. Menu states what can be made vegan. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable about what would be vegan and what wouldn’t. We got the sweet potato hash and veggie burrito. Also good selection of drinks and coffee

Pretty good! - Edit
The food was good and the staff were kind and quick. The best chai tea that I have ever tried. The biggest cons were that it got a little busy so we had to wait about 25 minutes to get a table and that it was relatively expensive for what you got. There were multiple options on the menu that could have been made vegan and those were clearly labeled. The only disappointing thing about the food was that our breakfast wraps came smothered in sauce, even though that was an add-on that we had not said we wanted. Overall, pretty good and I would think about returning!

Very Good Food - Edit
I really enjoyed my breakfast here. It was tofu over refried beans and flour tortillas, covered in greens chili sauce with guacamole and salsa on top. It was very filling and they had a few vegan choices.

Only One Vegan Dish Offered for Breakfast - Edit
The one dish I had was pretty good. Not a ton of options for vegans. I guess I could have asked if they would sub stuff but they didn’t say it anywhere on the menu and server was not really interested in waiting on tables. I will try Freshies down the street next time.

Tofu substitutes for all eggs - Edit
Good food!! We visited for breakfast and saw only one vegan item on the menu (tofu scramble) but they were willing to substitute tofu for most egg dishes with no extra charge. We had the California rancheros and subbed tofu for eggs- so tasty.

Yum! - Edit
So, I may be biased towards Winona's vs Freshies (see my review from June) as Winona's doesn't charge extra for tofu. I didn't try to sub tofu where it wasn't listed, like in some of the scrambles, but I didn't see an extra surcharge listed like at Freshies. The coffee was good, the alternative milk is soy, my husband and I both had the breakfast burrito and found it tasty, tho a little soggy, with plain cubed tofu - assuming they'd flavor the tofu in their scramble (it is labeled 'seasoned' tofu). And for you vegetarians, the cinnamon roll should not be missed, according to my husband ;)

Best Breakfast - Edit
I have to agree with Ruthe, below, that this is the best breakfast in Steamboat whether you are a vegan or vegetarian. It edges out Freshies. Winona's has more options and better flavor.

Best Breakfast in Steamboat! - Edit
Winona's is my favorite breakfast place in Steamboat. Before I turned vegan, I used to regularly go there for waffles and bacon, but now I have a new love in their tofu scramble. It is the best! I also love lunch, they have a great Thai veggie wrap to die for. There are many options to choose from on the menu that can be adapted, and everything is fresh and yummy. Don't miss it if you are traveling to the "boat"!
