Always a great option at the salad or hot bar

Everything is clearly labeled with their allergens, and there’s so much variety!

The Jam

They’ve got it all! My ex and I had vegan chicken salad with triscuits, tofu scramble wraps, and more! They also just finished their live Sunday brunch music with the amazing CoraSon! Love it 😍 highly recommend.

best tofu scramble in Carrboro

I love their hot bar for brunch, particularly their tofu scramble and roasted potatoes. They have delicious buns too and lots of sides to pick from. Nice coffee selection too!

Best Veggie Breakfast Wraps

Hot bar all day with breakfast lunch and dinner as well as some cold packaged food. My favorite is their vegan breakfast veggie wrap and their vegan apple pie. Great labeling and easy to get some food and pick up a couple of groceries too. Everything here tends to be on the more expensive side of the cost scale.

great prepped food & groceries!

hot bar and salad bar have lots of tasty clearly marked vegan options, ambrosia bar can be vegan too with coconut milk yogurt/whip and any other toppings, bakery has vegan double chocolate chip & whole wheat chocolate chip cookies, sweet potato and chocolate muffins. coffee bar can do vegan too, loads of teas to choose from. staff knowledgeable about which wines are vegan and there are lots of vegan meats, cheeses, milks, and yogurts in the grocery section! local produce, moderately sized bulk section, tons of local juices and kombucha too with samples/vendor demos every weekend which are frequently have vegan options. worth it to become a consumer owner!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great hot/salad bar, Supporting community!

Tasty Tofu Scram

When visiting from out of town a stop here is a must for breakfast. The tofu scramble offered on the breakfast bar is so good! I pair it with vegan black beans and breakfast potatoes, also available on the hot bar, and that definitely takes the dish up a notch. It would be nice to see a few more vegan items on the breakfast bar. Ordered a chai latte and it was very tasty.

Impressive selection in the grocery store. Nice, large outdoor seating area.

Good food

They have a hot bar with decent vegan options, and the food is usually good but sometime hit or miss. The breakfast selection can be limited though.
The grocery store is great and has a lot of selections. The staff is really friendly.

Pros: Delicious food, Many Groceries

Cons: Limited breakfast items

Best salad bar ever.

I cannot say enough good things about Weaver Street. I literally drive over an hour to get here for their glorious salad bar/products. They do everything right. The salad bar is labeled completely. They also have little disposable spoons so you can try the different menu items before committing. Each week they have a different theme for the hot bar. I love their Indian when they do it. There is also a coffee area where you can have lattes and such made. They have great tea lattes. Also, there is a great bakery. The entire outside is set up as a patio for seating. It is always hopping, which is a great measure for how lovely Weaver Street is.

Great for vegans with room for improvement

Weaver Street Market is a small co-op natural/organic grocery store in the heart of downtown Carrboro. It's a great alternative to Harris Teeter (a short walk away) if you are looking for bulk items or some specialty vegan products. Lots of local, delicious fresh produce as to be expected. It's a good place to find vegan yogurt, Field Roast sausage and cheese, etc. The frozen section has delicious readymade North Carolina-style vegan BBQ (SoyDelight brand) that I highly recommend. Their prepared foods section has containers of housemade vegan chicken salad (also available in sandwiches). Their sushi options include a spicy vegan roll, inari (sweet tofu) and the usual avocado and veggie rolls. Their salad bar is vegetarian with many whole-foods vegan options. Vegan selections in their amazing bakery include chocolate cake, apple pie and pumpkin pie (whole or by the slice), chocolate chip cookies and a couple types of muffins. They also make a to-die-for lemon rosemary bread on the weekends. Coffee bar has several non-dairy milk options.

My biggest complaint is with their hot bar. There are usually a number of vegan dinner dishes (brownie points for correct labeling!) but they often look dried out or the containers are mostly empty. The ones I do get are usually delicious though. They also don't seem to experiment with offering dishes that contain vegan meat products like Beyond Meat the way whole foods does. Even more tofu dishes would be appreciated. The breakfast bar could be more vegan friendly if they offered vegan pancakes or a vegan butter spread. They have vegetarian-sausage biscuits but you can't get just the sausage since it's wrapped up in a biscuit with cheese. So definitely some ways they could make the hot bar more vegan friendly.

Staff are friendly and helpful, customers are unique, and the place has a huge shady lawn out front offering a fun Carrboro vibe with lots of places to sit.

Pros: Fantastic bulk section, good vegan specialty product selection, fun atmosphere

Cons: hot bar, breakfast bar, pricey

Vegan-friendly Weaver Street

You can feel good when you step inside Weaver Streeet Market. Not only can you find many of your vegan pantry necessities, Weaver Street also has some of the harder-to-find goods (Rice yogurt, Soyatoo, varieties of "cheeses"). Their fresh bakery includes many daily and seasonal vegan products, such as pumpkin pie, chocolate cake, cookies, bagels, and muffins. The salad and hot bar are always stocked with good eats, and reasonably priced at $6.99/lb. A membership to the Co-Op is $75/lifetime (single person), and you receive great discounts, including 5% off bulk bin items (and there are plenty to choose from!). It's a fun place to poke around, even if you aren't in "need" of anything in particular.

Pros: large bulk bin selection, vegan bakery items, friendly staff

Cons: some harder-to-find items are expensive
