Great Native American Food - Edit
The vegan options here are really good, and the service is amazing! The wild native mushroom pumpkin seed mole was delicious. Get extra tortillas with it. The blue corn tortillas here were freshly made and so perfect. The foraged chokecherry pudding with chia seeds was my favorite out of everything, you can tell how high quality their ingredients are. You need to try Wahpepah's Kitchen at least once, and hopefully more #Veganuary

Native American food should be way more common than it is - Edit
Please support Wahpepah’s Kitchen! Everything about it feels right when you step in the door, smell the food, see the decor, and hear the native music over the speakers. Why isn’t this what all Americans have grown up with?
Read moreThe concise seasonal menu has numerous, clearly marked vegan options. Everything we had was so fresh and flavorful. The Three Sister Veggie Bowl is something I could eat literally every day. The Berry Frybread was one of my favorite things I’ve EVER eaten. The berry compote on it was balanced perfection- not too sweet, not too tart, just right. 👌 The ONLY thing I could ding them on was that the Mushroom Pumpkin Seed Mole had literally almost no shredded mushrooms. We would have like a small mountain of mushrooms… but perhaps this was because it was the end of the day before closing?
Regardless, don’t miss Wahpepah’s Kitchen if you want to feel good about what you’re eating, and closer to where we live. I hope to see them flourish!
Pros: Native American twist on healthful food!, Lovely decor and murals, Many thoughtful vegan options
Cons: Not in the best part of Oakland, Limited hours

Excellent vegan options! - Edit
Loved this restaurant. So many vegan options that I will have to visit the restaurant several times to try everything. The dishes blend Native ingredients with other cuisines found alongside Native communities. Fast and friendly service.
