We had a great night and tried lots of dishes from the vegan menu! The staff were great and my hubby got a complimentary tequila for his birthday

Creative menu, iffy execution - Edit
Separate vegan menu which is great!! I got the cactus and courgette burrito and it was interesting- my main critique is that the ingredients weren’t evenly distributed (ALL the cactus was in the first four bites, ALL the cabbage was at the bottom). They say some items are fried in the same frier as non vegan items, which I didn’t mind except for my shellfish allergy, but the waitress said the only item that is fried in the same frier is the specialty tortilla chips, but you can request gluten free chips and they are not fried in the same frier😄glad I tried out the restaurant but would not order the same thing IF I come back..

Limited vegan options - Edit
Though Wahaca has a dedicated vegan menu, the only thing I really enjoy on it is the sweet potato burrito. They have nice hot sauce on the table.

Food was fine - Edit
I love tacos and was excited about trying some new things from the menu- plantain tacos, cactus tacos and tamarind margarita. The food was fine but not very exciting. The plantain tacos came just just one piece on plantain in a taco shell. No cabbage or beans as advertised. Maybe a mistake? Guacamole and chips were good. Book ahead if you are in a rush.

Great food! - Edit
I had the sweet potato burrito and it was absolutely delicious! Having a separate vegan menu with quite a few options made things very easy and the staff were super helpful with everything. They also have hot sauces on their tables (one of them vegan, the other one with honey), and when you pay they give you a little packet with chilli seeds to plant somewhere which I found really cute.

Mexican-style streetfood - Edit
Wahaca has a separate vegan menu - ask for it when you arrive. They prepare some of the vegan dishes in the same fryers as meat dishes, but this is clearly marked on the menu if you want to avoid cross-contamination. The plantain tacos were my favourite.
