Superb food : fantastic service

7 of us well done looked after - good selection of Vegan and veggie options. We loved the bean quesadillas and mushroom enchiladas. Staff very friendly and helpful (supporting us embarrassing a birthday with a cake and candles we had brought).

Very good service and sweet potato burrito

I got the sweet potato burrito and a hibiscus margarita. The waiter was so nice and helpful. They brought my meal out with sour cream on the chips and she noticed it before I could say anything and went to correct it. She was very knowledgeable about the vegan options and had good recommendations. Food tasted great! Had a lovely smoky flavor to it.

Pros: Tasty food

Tasty tacos

Decent Mexican food, especially for a chain. Could do with more customisable dishes but good base menu.

I was a big fan of Wahaca when I lived in London but there isn't one where I live now. They now have a separate vegan menu (you need to ask for it, but it's referenced on the main menu) which has plenty of vegan versions of the Wahaca standards - snacks, tacos, burrito etc. This is probably my favourite sort of good as I can never decide what I want and at Wahaca, I can just get several smaller plates for myself - obviously I wouldn't share any of them. Cocktails optional (unless you're me).
Not pictured - rest of my drinks, chips, guac, and the mushroom and violife cheese quesadilla that I got too excited about and ate too quickly.

Lot of vegan options on separate menu

It is really huge place! Looks good but it is still "fast food" style. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I had mushrooms enchiladas and it really missed some final touch, average taste. Maybe other options are better. Guacamole was nice

So so good !

Wahaka has a separate vegan menu. Everything we tried is super flavoursome and just bang on !
They even have free blant based dishes throughout January !
Cocktails and Mezcal is top tier and the service is very accommodating! 10/10 recommended

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Lovely fresh flavours, Better than real Mexican

Cons: Vegan meals should be cheaper than meat dishes !

Shared the vegan menu for 2. Plenty of great food and a good price, great drink options too. Had to get the churros afterwards!

Triggered my dairy allergy

I appreciated the key that let you know if something was fried in shared oil so you could avoid cross contamination, and a full menu of vegan options.

However, despite avoiding those dishes, notifying the staff of my allergy, and the manager taking my order as a result, I got to wake up hours later with a swollen tongue and hives.

If allergies aren’t a concern for you and you have non-vegan loved ones, you may want to go here, but if you like spicy food like me as well as being vegan this is not the place- the vegan nachos were great, but the faux chicken taco was just okay and the black bean quesadilla was really plain- it tasted like literally just beans and violife.

Overall, food was pricey for what it was and ‘meh’, and I obviously can’t recommend it after mr allergy flare, but I will say it’s obvious that any cross contamination was incredibly minor as this is a very mild reaction for me, so they did at least try.

Tasty quick meal

A lot of options for vegetarians, several of which are vegan or can be veganised. Had the whole food salad with roasted cauliflower. The hibiscus juice is very refreshing

Mexican tapas, it's so good! Tons of vegan options, including tacos, quesadillas and cocktails😄the portions are a good size, 2 or 3 items is more than enough. Really tasty, and right on the tram line too!

Vegan Dinner for 2

📌 @wahaca

Taste: 🤤🤤/5
Value: £££ - Expensive

💰: £6.35
💭: I don’t think I could fault these, the guacamole was lovely and the combination with black beans was lovely
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes
🏆 - Fav Dish

💰: £6.15
💭: I really really did not like these, I can’t specify what I didn’t like, it was just the full combination was off
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

💰: £6.05
💭: When ordering a black bean and cheese quesadilla i expected more. There was a small layer of vegan cheese on top and a pot full of nothing more than black beans leaving me disappointed
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

💰: £9.75
💭: This was similar to the quesadilla where I felt all there was to it was black beans
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? No

💰: £6.25
💭: Sweet tasty chocolate churros, delicious
🤷🏽‍♀️: Order again? Yes

📝: I was very disappointed in this restaurant and won’t go back. I have heard from other people that it seems to have went down hill so I don’t think it’s Wahaca itself and perhaps the restaurant itself.

Great Options!

They have a separate vegan menu with plenty of options. I had the Mexican bowl which was an exciting mix of lovely things. Service was quick and friendly too. I will look forward to my next visit and trying out their other options!

Vegan menu available, quick and satisfying

It's quick and easy food in a casual environment. The vegan Mexican Bowl was tasty and there were several other vegan and vegetarian dishes to choose from. If you're a fellow coriander hater though, be careful as they like adding lots of it here! 🤮

Pros: Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options , Quick and fast service, Casual dining

Good but not perfect

We had a veggie set for 2 (6 different dishes). All those dishes are also available as separate meals to be ordered. Overall experience is good. Food was served quickly and service was very pleasant. Some dishes were very tasty (stuffed blue corn tortilla, tacos with plantain), some were fine (black bean quesadilla, tacos with pumpkin), some just average (broccoli, tacos with mushrooms). Some tacos were too soggy because of the filling and were falling apart in my hands, making it difficult to eat, other meals contained the same spices making it difficult to distinguish between 2 originally very different meals. As it was a share set for 2, it was a bit strange that some meals contained odd number of items (1pc and 3pc in some dishes) on the plates. It could have been better, should they really customise their sets for 2 people and not just bring those meals the way they are stated in the menu as separate items to order.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian options, Lots of vegan options

Nothing to write home about

We tried vegetarian set for two. The portions were definitely too small for two adults. All foods for some reason came with the same red cabbage inside them as well as sprinkled on top. I guess that's why all foods tasted the same...

Do not recommend. And definitely wouldn't go there the second time.

Good range on vegan menu

Great place to walk in, separate vegan menu, helpful staff and good food though they made a mistake with my order.

Toilets are upstairs but there is a lift which my disabled companion was able to use.

Interesting new 'cactus and courgette' filling - good to try something new!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Staff attitude , Good value

Great place

Ask for the vegan menu. They have a wide selection to choose from, as well as two desserts. I had the cactus and courgette burrito, which was very tasty. The menu clearly specifies whether an item is fried non-vegan food, and if it is possible to omit it. Nice place, althougj quote loud.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, A variery of choices

Cons: Noisy

Limited vegan options 😕

I’ve loved Wahaca as a veggie for years, the food is great, there’s a cool atmosphere, I love getting lots of little dishes. I went back as a vegan, and the options are quite limited. Not only that, but in their vegan menu, quite a few dishes are served without the cheese, but with no substitute. So, the vegan plantain tacos (which are tasty) are quite dry compared to the veggie version. The nachos are without cheese, rather than with vegan cheese.

A few years ago, just having a vegan menu was quite unusual. But these days, I think other places, including chains, have overtaken Wahaca. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good place to eat, but there’s room for improvement for vegans!

Creative menu, iffy execution

Separate vegan menu which is great!! I got the cactus and courgette burrito and it was interesting- my main critique is that the ingredients weren’t evenly distributed (ALL the cactus was in the first four bites, ALL the cabbage was at the bottom). They say some items are fried in the same frier as non vegan items, which I didn’t mind except for my shellfish allergy, but the waitress said the only item that is fried in the same frier is the specialty tortilla chips, but you can request gluten free chips and they are not fried in the same frier😄glad I tried out the restaurant but would not order the same thing IF I come back..

Pros: Attentive to allergies, Fun atmosphere
