Shame not more vegan options

Staff were helpful in helping veganise things for us to have for breakfast, but based on previous Happy Cow reviews we were a little disappointed as no oats or smoothie bowls offered now. Had the curry & avo on toast (staff omitted the egg and did us a side salad instead which was kind) but had hoped for more choice. Good for veggies though

Pros: Helpful staff

Cons: Not much vegan options, Menu changed to remove old vegan options, Coffee was basic

Lovely spot with potential

The location itself is really nice and classy. There is also a lot of space and enough seating. But to our mind too cold, we froze bit in there.

The food is actually pretty good, has different flavours and a lot of potential, but it seems to be completely about imitating meat (which works out not bad) - but is this the aim of being vegan? There are so many vegan dishes that are just amazing, especially in the Asian cuisine. Meat imitations are nice once in a while but when its the main point about the food, it is too artificial and kind of lame. But of course, this has everybody to decide for him-/herself.

Another point is that all our food was between cold and in the best case "kinda warm". Lot of flavours lose their taste and it is just not the same.

Furthermore - even though the staff is really nice - we felt compeltely lost when entering. Nobody greeted us, nobody gave us a sign that we shall just have a seat whereever we want, we just felt not welcome at first. What doesnt help here is that you cannot tell who is customer and who is staff, as staff wears normal clothes.

So, for vegan meat-imitations lover this is a great place (if the meals are hot). For anybody else its also worth a try, but dont expect too much. ;-)

Top-notch veg local food in a beautiful atmosphere

The menu has sets and a la carte items of skillfully prepared local Nyonya dishes (that are hard to find as vegetarian versions). At similarly priced vegetarian restaurants, I often find local dishes to be overly sweet and syrupy but the food here is not like that at all; perfect balance of flavors. The homemade fruit vinegar (similar to kombucha) was also lovely. Ample portions, reasonable prices, and a gorgeous interior. A great place to bring visitors or chill on weekends. Some dishes look like they could be veganized on request but call in advance to be sure.

Pros: Healthy & flavorful, not too sweet, Good portion size, Hard-to-find vegetarian dishes

W Life Cafe, full of life

With its bright, light and trendy interior, W Life Cafe offers a small selection of Chinese, Nonya style dishes. Even though not marked most can be veganised.
