Not a good day for us - Edit
As soon as we arrived at the airport, we took a taxi straight to Vistro to try it out. I think our expectations were too high because it was a bit disappointing. I really don't want to be a negative Nancy and I do think we are partly to blame for our choices, okay here goes:
Read moreWe ordered the Fettucine pasta which was excellent. Very al dente pasta, great flavour and creamy.
We also got the truffle dumplings which has uncanny and excellent flavour but had been steamed for too long, making them too mushy. Wouldn't normally be a problem to us but considering what you pay for 4 small dumplings, it was disappointing.
We also got the Zaatar chicken which was good in flavour but I think they put too much zaatar powder so every bite was unpleasant as it felt like having a bite of flour.
Then, we had the daiya cheese sandwich, crunchy and lovely but they went crazy on the lime which overpowered the taste and made every bite sour.
Last bit that we could've maybe fixed, had we just talked to the staff, was the Portobello steak. We asked for not spicy but it ended up being just cooked Portobello and it was cold as well. That was such a shame but instead of saying something, we just ate it anyway so that's on us.
I think we were unlucky in our choices and the place was really busy, so do try it out!
Pros: Vegan restaurant , Lovely fettuccine pasta, Many options
Cons: Disappointing experience

Best vegan food in Bangkok - Edit
I live in Bangkok for a couple months out of the year, and this is hands down the best vegan food in the city. Like you can’t go wrong with whatever you order, you won’t be disappointed. I meant to leave this review months ago, but just remembered because I have a craving for their flatbread. It’s that good.

Sorry Vistro you've dropped a star! - Edit
I've lost track the amount of times I've eaten in Vistro, amazing vegan place!
Read moreWhen I arrived in Bangkok in March this year I couldn't believe my luck when I realised that Vistro was only a 5 minute walk away! Normally I would check the Happy Cow app before I booked my accommodation but on this occasion I completely forgot!
Vistro is only a short 5-10 minute walk from the Phrom Phong BTS Station. It's situated on the first floor of the building although there is a small seating area by the ground floor entrance.
The restaurant has a nice feel to it, light open space with natural daylight.
The menu is really varied with western and Asian dishes plus a separate menu for pizza from Vizza which operates from the same place. Everything is 100% vegan and the food is top quality, consistently good. Always presented nicely and never fails on the taste front!
The staff are very friendly and attentive.
They have some separate food stuffs that you can buy on the premises and they do takeaway as well.
Update
I've had so many good meals at this restaurant and when they advertised that they were having a guest chef there I jumped at the opportunity. 7 course meal cooked by Simran Savlani @asparkofmadness was delicious. The meal certainly wasn't cheap so was very disappointed when I was then charged for filtered water at the end. Having spent 2100 baht for a a meal and then to be asked to pay 55 baht for pretty much tap water was an insult. Dropped a star for me on what was a poor management decision

Was ok but overrated - Edit
Was a little let down by this place - it was so hyped. The choices were ok - but very pricey. We enjoyed our food (we had the ramen and the curry dog) but not wowed. We enjoyed Veganerie more.

This is without a doubt one of my top three vegan restaurants in the world. The prices are high, but it was worth it. So many special dishes to try from and soo tasty. If you do not go there while in Bangkok you have missed something.

Tasty and Delicious - Edit
Menu has lot of variety. Service is super fast. Ambiance is good with a great vibe. I have ordered vistro dumplings. It was delicious.. Chewy with vegetables fillings, sour and spicy sauce and crunchy salty toppings!! Samosa is also delicious! I loved the pink chai which is flavorful and goes well with spicy food. Will visit again!!

Favourite vegan in BKK - Edit
Always excited to come here, food is really good and much more adventurous than other vegan spots in the city like Veganerie. Would recommend the habibi wrap and the phish tacos, pasta in pink sauce, Caesar salad. New food options are developed on a rolling basis, they also recently started vegan pizza. The pizza is also great, rich sauce, convincing cheese (although was served burnt on bottom a couple of times, suspect teething problems with the new wood burning pizza oven).

Cons: Pricey, Hit or miss on pizza cooking times, No alcohol served

Poor Customer Service - Edit
I called this place twice on Friday, September 4th, 2020 at 1:30 and 1:45 PM to ask for information about their delivery service. Both times I called, the customer service did not care about giving me the correct information. As a result, I could not order online from this place.

A welcomed addition to Bangkok's dining options - Edit
Thumbs up. We very much enjoyed our first dining experience here and can provide a high recommendation (especially for those reading this on HappyCow). Iris was our service provider and offered great insight on the dishes and beverages. We landed on DIY Peking "Duck" and the Beet Ravioli salad as our appetizers and the Moo Ping Soi 24 and the Umami Burger as the mains, all very satisfying. Dessert was the Blueberry Cheezecake. Dining is on the second floor in a fairly large and welcoming area. There were several other parties dining at the same time including one group larger than 25. Menu pricing includes taxes and does not add on for service charges. Our recognition especially to Iris and the other staff for making this first visit such a pleasurable dining experience.

Good food, but not the best service. - Edit
I was really excited to try Vistro because their menu looked amazing, but unfortunately when I arrived after making a booking I was told they were closed already. This was a shame as there shouldn't have been the option to book in the first place for that time. Having said that, when they were open the food was really good. We ordered the wrap and burger. Both were presented beautifully. I would definitely go back!

Perfect for a date night - Edit
Expensive but worth it! The food here was absolutely divine. I tried many dishes but particularly recommend the stuffed spinach and ricotta pasta shells as well as the carbonara and Mac and cheese balls. Nice presentation and a unique take on many classic vegan dishes. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.
